Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman Snubbing Barack Hussein Obama Visit to Nevada & Reid Fundraiser

Posted in: 2010 Elections,Barack Obama,Harry Reid (D-NV),Senate Elections

Las Vegas Mayor is a good man …

The Mayor of Las Vegas Oscar Goodman will be conspicuous by his absence when Barack Obama comes to town for a fundraiser for embattled Democrat US Senate Majority leader Harry Reid. The White House and the Las Vegas mayor claim that fences have been mended; however, not so fast. The fact that the LV Mayor finds other things to do when Obama comes calling speaks volumes that there is still an issue between the two for Obama’s past comments regarding Vegas.

Don’t expect Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman to wade too deeply into partisan politics Friday — even though he’s speaking at the Republican State Convention in Henderson.

“I don’t intend to make this into a political speech. That was never my intent,” Goodman told reporters today at his weekly press conference. “I don’t take my own personal political agenda to the public.”

He also won’t be meeting with President Obama during his two-day visit to the city.
