Anti-Immigration Domino Effect … 55% of Colorado Voters In Favor Immigration Law Like Arizona’s

Posted in: 2010 Elections,Governor Races,Illegal Immigration,Polls,We the People

Could an Arizona-like anti-illegal immigration law be coming to Colorado? Also, could the anti-immigration issue swing the Governor’s election for the GOP?

55% of Colorado voters are in favor of an anti-illegal immigration Law like that passed just recently in Arizona. Only 35% were opposed. As the MSM continues to falsely portray the image that a majority of Americas are against the new Arizona immigration law, the truth of the matter is that a majority of Americans approve of it.

Fifty-five percent (55%) of Colorado voters favor a law like the one just adopted in Arizona that authorizes local police to stop individuals they suspect of being illegal immigrants, according to a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state. Thirty-five percent (35%) oppose such a law.

Nationally, 59% of voters favor a law like Arizona’s, unchanged from a week earlier despite last weekend’s protest rallies. Fifty percent (50%) have an unfavorable opinion of the protestors.

Once again we see in a state that Republicans and Indpenedents are concerened about the rule of law, while a majority of Democrats have no issue with individuals being in the USA illegally. Democrat Governor Bill Ritter has stated that he would veto legislation like the law just adopted in Arizona. Seeing that Ritter is not seeking reelection in 2010 and Republican Scott McInnis holds a 48% to 42% lead over Democrat  John Hickenlooper, the illegal immigration issue might just be the deciding factor for a GOP win.

In Colorado, 79% of Republican voters and 56% of voters not affiliated with either major party favor a law that cracks down on illegal immigration like the one just adopted in Arizona. Fifty-six percent (56%) of Democrats oppose such a law.

EXIT QUESTION: How many states that are adversely affected by illegal immigration will be implementing Arizona like immigration laws in the not to distant future?

Welcome to the hot button issue for the upcoming elections that has been simmering and ignored for far too many years.
