“Hang him, that’s it.” “Then we’re done. But this will not give Natalee back”

“Hang him, that’s it.” “Then we’re done. But this will not give Natalee back”. Yes, those were the words uttered by Anita Van der Sloot in an interview with CBS, The Early Show.

Today Joran Van der Sloot will learn whether he will remain in custody for another 30 days or be sent home in the case of missing teen, Natalee Holloway. Natalee’s parents have always felt that Joran Van der Sloot had something to do with their daughter’s disappearance while Joran’s parents claim his innocence.

Her parents are convinced he had something to do with her disappearance, and want him held.

But his parents say they’re counting the days until they can take him home.

“We believe in his innocence, not only because it is not proven that he is guilty, but because he is innocent,” says Joran’s father, Paul van der Sloot, a one-time judge in training.

The Van der Sloots appeared on CBS, “The Early Show”, and made comments that will most likely infuriate those that believe that Joran and his friends either played a major role in Natalee’s disappearance or have direct knowledge as to what occurred. Paul Van der Sloot went on to say,

Prosecutors won’t talk about their evidence.

Paul believes they have none, and insists there is no cover-up: “If I had known he had done something illegal, I would have taken him to justice. I have said that from the beginning.”

“He still tells Joran every day, ‘If there’s anything, tell the truth. Tell the truth,’ ” Joran’s mother, Anita van der Sloot says. “And if there would have been anything Joran was hiding, then it would have been out long before (now).”

His best friend is now under arrest for an unrelated crime, Cobiella observes, and Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, the two young men also seen with Natalee, are back in custody, strategic moves, the van der Sloots say, to break their son, and hold someone, anyone, responsible for Natalee’s disappearance.

Matters were probably made worse when Joran’s mom, Anita, made the following comments that will only exacerbate the divide that has been created.

“Hang him, that’s it.” “Then we’re done. But this will not give Natalee back, because we don’t know where she is. Joran doesn’t know where she is, so go back to the beginning. Start looking in other directions.”

Then in some of either the most senseless or ill conceived word choice the Van der Sloot’s talk of Joran’s future. To speak of your son’s future while there is a girl missing and all signs point to your son, his network of friends, being the last seen with Natalee and the lies that have been told is in poor taste at best.

The van der Sloots already are. Anxious to put this behind them, they’re focused on the future.

“We believe in the future,” Paul says. “I hope Joran can soon go to college and I hope I can soon go to work.”

All this while everyone focuses on the disappearance of Natalee Holloway and whether she even has a future.
