NBA Phoenix Suns Wearing “Los Suns” Jerseys to Protest Arizona Anti-Illegal Immigration Law on Cinco de Mayo

Posted in: Illegal Immigration,Politics,Polls,Sports,We the People,WTF

A note to the Phoenix Suns … SHUT UP AND PLAY BASKETBALL!

Isn’t a clause in The US Constitution that states a separation of Sports and Politics? If not, there should be.

Suddenly the NBA Phoenix Suns feel the need to wear jerseys during their playoff game with the San Antonio Spurs that say “Los Suns” rather than just Suns on Cinco de Mayo. Wonder why the jersey don’t say Los Sols? I mean come on Suns Managing Partner Robert Sarver don’t be a complete “GRINGO”.  If you are going to show solidarity with illegal immigrants in the United States who are breaking federal and now Arizona state law … let’s go all the way. Give us a break Suns, Cinco de Mayo in America is just an excuse to drink Corona and Dos Equis.

Just curious NBA and the Phoenix Suns, I would have thought that if you really wanted to honor those of Mexican heritage, why didn’t you do it sooner?

Who knew that the NBA and the Suns were against the rule of law? Then again, with a league that has had a history of a criminal rap sheet longer than the injury list, go figure. NBA, Pheonix Suns et all, worry about cleaning up your own house before you cast stones.

BTW, how many of the NBA rosters with foreign born athletes on them are here illegally? Just checking.

Team officials decided to express their frustration with the new law in conjunction with Wednesday’s celebration of Mexican heritage on the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

“Our players and organization felt that wearing our “Los Suns” jerseys on Cinco de Mayo was a way for our team and our organization to honor our Latino community and the diversity of our league, the State of Arizona, and our nation,” Suns Managing Partner Robert Sarver wrote in a statement.

So as Hot Air points out, the Phoenix Suns brass thinks its smart to interject politics into sports and take the side where 60% of Americans are in favor of tough anti-illegal laws like passed in Arizona? So many Americans in fact support tougher immigration laws that even Barack Obama took the issue off the agenda for fear of an even bigger backlash Democrats will face this November.

The Phoenix Suns want more politics and public opinion on illegal immigration?

In the words of Weasel ZippersGO SPURS!!!

Here is an idea for the Suns, go all out and wear this on your jerseys … Los inmigrantes ilegal.
