Wisconsin Senate Election 2010: Tommie Thompson (R) 47%, Russ Feingold (D) 43%

Wisconsin Senate seat now in play?

It would appear yet again that Democrats need to worry regarding the Wisconsen Senate race to reelect incumbent Russ Feingold. The incumbent Democrat finds himself behind in the hypothetical match up between himself and Republicam Tommie Thompson.

Thompson leads Feingold, 47% to 43%. Yet another Senate seat that Democrats are going to have to spend big money to defend. In what appears to be a trend not only with President Obama, but Democrats across the board … they are losing the Independent vote badly. Voters not affiliated with either major party break for Thompson 53% to 36%.

One more Democratic senator who has long been regarded as a safe prospect for reelection may be facing a challenging year in 2010.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Wisconsin finds Republican Tommy Thompson edging incumbent Russ Feingold 47% to 43% in a hypothetical U.S. Senate match-up. Five percent (5%) like some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.

Interestingly enough Feingold is seeking a fourth six-year term in the Senate this November after he originally ran on the platform of term limits. It appears that this November, the WI voters may finally evoke their own self imposed term limit finally on Feingold.

Democrats head into the midterm election season shaking in their boots. Every time a Senate, House or Governor race is discussed their is a vulnerable Democrat wondering whether their political career is about to end thanks to Barack Hussein Obama’s over the top defiant liberal polices and the Dem’s unwillingness to tell him no.

Will Wisconsin go Republican in the 2012 Presidential Election?
