Home Run Fraud Mark McGuire Finally Admits Steroid Use

Posted in: Drugs,Media,Scandal,Sports,WTF

Breaking News … Shocker … Mark McGuire Admits STEROID use!!!

The headline might want to read … McGuire finally admits he is a cheater as he cries!

Yes, I am being completely sarcastic. The fact that Mark McGuire has finally admitting steroid use is probably one of the worst breaking news stories, maybe ever. What honest minded baseball fan or any one with a clue really did not think that McGuire did not use the juice and that pretty much ever HR record he broke, i.e. most HR’s in a season in 1998 was not a complete joke. The Hall of Fame voters certainly did as McGuire has never come close to getting enough votes for Cooperstown and never will.

Mark McGwire finally came clean, admitting he used steroids when he broke baseball’s home run record in 1998, but he also said he didn’t need performance-enhancing drugs to hit the long ball.

McGwire said in a statement sent to The Associated Press on Monday that he used steroids on and off for nearly a decade. Later Monday, however, he disputed that the drugs gave him more power to hit homers.

“I was given a gift to hit home runs,” he told Bob Costas on MLB Network.

Sobbing and sniffling, Mark McGwire finally answered the steroid question. Oh good grief, MAN UP … THERE IS NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!!!

Shame on Major League Baseball, shame on the players who used PED and shame on the media for only wanting to cover the long home runs for ratings rather than ask themselves how all of a sudden did so many HR’s start popping out of the ball parks. As per ESPN, Mark McGuire is now the sixth player in the top 15 of the all-time MLB home run list linked to performance-enhancing drugs. And yes ESPN, you are not with out blame in the steroid era of baseball as well.

Let’s have MLB make this right and return Babe Ruth as the Home Run King and Roger Maris as the most in one year at 61*, even though he needed more game. Rid the record books of steroids once and for all.

Hot Air brings up probably the most heinous and tragic  moment of McGuire’s steroid use and confessions. Imagine having to call the widow of Roger Maris and tell her, yea I beat your dead husbands record by cheating. NICE!

The most painful detail? He phoned Roger Maris’s widow today and had to explain that he broke her dead husband’s record by cheating his ass off. Exit question: 12-time All-Star, 583 home runs. Hall of Famer? After this, I say no.
