Senator Harry Reid Apologizes for Calling Obama a Light Skinned Appearance with no Negro Dialect

Posted in: Barack Obama,Harry Reid (D-NV),Media Bias,Politics,Racism,Senate,WTF

WOW … How come Barack Hussein Obama didn’t hold a press conference and say that Harry Reid acted stupidly?

So who said the following? BTW, what party is the party of RACISM? Can you imagine the hue and cry and calls for resignation if it were a Republican? Will Dems find a way to blame Bush for this also?

Harry Reid … No wonder he is pushing Obamacare so hard

Obama – a “light-skinned” African American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one”

If you said Conservative talk show radio host Rush Limbaugh, former MS Senator Trent Lott or any other Republican, you would be wrong. If you even said WV Senator and former Klan member Robert Byrd, you would be incorrect. Answer,  Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Democrats are so quick to use the race card, they might want to first police their own. Imagine, just imagine if such a comment were made by Sarah Palin, Dick Cheney or any one with an “R”? Of course a Democrat can say it and have their apology accepted with no loss of employment.  Reid apologizes for is ignorant statement.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid apologized Saturday following reports he had privately described then-candidate Barack Obama during the presidential campaign as a black candidate who could be successful thanks in part to his “light-skinned” appearance and speaking patterns “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

“He (Reid) was wowed by Obama’s oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama – a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’ as he said privately. Reid was convinced, in fact, that Obama’s race would help him more than hurt him in a bid for the Democratic nomination,” they write.

“I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words,” Reid said in a statement to CNN.

Think the White House and MSM would have accepted the apology if Rush had made such a comment? Funny how the Democrat party and liberal MSM has a different reaction when such a racist statement comes from one of their own, eh?

Reid’s apology from Big Government.com. As stated at BG, “Poor choice of words? Exactly what other combination of words could Sen. Reid have used to convey his point? And what, exactly, was his point anyway?”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) apologized today for referring to President Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect” in private conversations during the 2008 presidential campaign.

“I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words,” said Reid in a statement. “I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments.

As stated by Michelle Malkin, it was just last month that Nevada Senator and Democrat Majority leader who likened Republicans who oppose the government health care to proponents of slavery. One has to wonder just how long Dingy Harry really has in office and whether he will actually run in 2010 for reelection. I am sensing another Democrat retirement. Just a hunch.

UPDATE I: Look what then Senator Obama Said About Trent Lott in 2002 when it came to racist remark!

From the December 12, 2002 issue of the Chicago Defender via The Weekly Standard. Isn’t it interesting the double standard that President Barack Obama displays as the supposed leader of all Americans! Nice consitance Barry O.

Illinois Senator Barack Obama (D-13th), who hosted WVON’s Cliff Kelley Show, challenged the Republican Party to repudiate Lott’s remarks and to call for his resignation as senate leader.

“It seems to be that we can forgive a 100-year-old senator for some of the indiscretion of his youth, but, what is more difficult to forgive is the current president of the U.S. Senate (Lott) suggesting we had been better off if we had followed a segregationist path in this country after all of the battles and fights for civil rights and all the work that we still have to do,” said Obama.

He said: “The Republican Party itself has to drive out Trent Lott. If they have to stand for something, they have to stand up and say this is not the person we want representing our party.”
