Iranian Protesters Dying in the Streets … Where is Obama and the US Support?

Presidential Leadership?

The Times of London there are at least 8 dead. So far that is. No, make it 10!
Iranian police officers are reported to have  opened fire into crowds of protesters on Sunday, killing at least 10 people, witnesses and opposition. With all this civil unrest by the Iranian People, I think we need to ask where is America’s help in this matter.

At least eight anti-government protesters, including a nephew of Mir Hossein Mousavi, Iran’s opposition leader, were shot dead yesterday as the smouldering confrontation between the regime and the so-called Green Movement finally erupted.

Murder and Arrests on the streets of Tehran.

The UK Telegraph has the guts to ask the question that the American MSM is too cowardly to do so … ‘Iranian protesters are dying for freedom – where is Barack Obama?’ Protests against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are once again flaring up in the streets of Tehran, Iran and Obama is no where to be found. Where is the leadership from this President?

Hat Tip: Flopping Aces, “Obama are you with us or them?

I wrote back in June about the shameful silence of the Obama administration during the mass street protests that greeted Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s fraudulent re-election victory as President of Iran. As White House spokesman Robert Gibbs ludicrously put it, the administration was “impressed by the vigorous debate and enthusiasm this election generated.” Or in Vice President Joe Biden’s words on NBC’s Meet the Press, describing Ahmadinejad’s victory – “we’re going to withhold comment… I mean we’re just waiting to see.”

Embarrassingly for Washington, even many European leaders showed more backbone in condemning the Iranian regime’s brutal suppression of protesters, …

Once again, Barack Obama is just words. Remember during his Nobel Peace Prize speech when he referenced the Iranian protesters? I guess it’s a good thing that hope and history are on their side, as Obama can’t make up his mind whether he is. His speeches are just mere words with no action.

So even as we respect the unique culture and traditions of different countries, America will always be a voice for those aspirations that are universal … to the hundreds of thousands who have marched silently through the streets of Iran. It is telling that the leaders of these governments fear the aspirations of their own people more than the power of any other nation. And it is the responsibility of all free people and free nations to make clear to these movements that hope and history are on their side

Do you really want to know where Obama is as the fires rage and innocent people are gunned down by the Iranian regime … President Obama keeps strict tee times and cone of silence.

What, I am on vacation … don’t I get a vacation?

Oh wait, Obama and the White House come out winging against the Iranian suppression with a little stick.

“We strongly condemn the violent and unjust suppression of civilians in Iran seeking to exercise their universal rights,” National Security Council spokesman Mike Hammer said in a statement. “Hope and history are on the side of those who peacefully seek their universal rights, and so is the United States.”

Those mere words will certainly put the fear of Allah in them. Geez.
