Obama Job Approval Continues to Slip, 50% – 44% According to Gallup, Correction … Under 50%, Also Rasmussen & Quinnipiac Polls

How low can he go? All Polls show that Obama job approval has hit the skids. Some polling shows that Obama has dipped below 50% for first time.

President Barack Obama’s job approval ratings continue to fall. According to Gallup, only 50% now approve of Obama’s job performance. That is down from 68% in January 2009.

In other bad polling news for The One, only 47% think President Obama’s policies are “about right” in promoting efforts to aid the black community. That is down from the 64% only a year ago.

The Rasmussen Daily Tracking poll for November 14, 2009 has Barack Obama at -14, OUCH! This is the fifth day in a row that Obama had a negative double digit rating and the -14 represents the lowest Presidential approval index of Obama’s Administration. Rasmussen poll also shows that only 46% approve of Obama while 52% are against.

A recently released Quinnipiac poll on Wednesday found that Obama’s approval rating has dipped below 50 percent for the first time nationally.

A Fox News poll released Thursday showed Obama’s approval rating at a new low with only 46% of respondents disapprove of the president’s job performance while an equal percentage approved.

  • Support for Obama’s handling of the war in Afghanistan has also slipped — with 49 percent saying they disliked his approach to the eight-year-old war and 38 percent saying they approved of it.

UPDATE I: Obama Job Approval Down to 49%

Could this dip below 50% be the beginning of the end for Barack Obama? With Obama’s polling trend continuing downward and the unpopular policies of Obamacare, cap & tax, government spending and unemployment over 10% can only continue the downward spiral.

Although the current decline below 50% has symbolic significance, most of the recent decline in support for Obama occurred in July and August. He began July at 60% approval. The ongoing, contentious debate over national healthcare reform has likely served as a drag on his public support, as have continuing economic problems. Americans are also concerned about the Obama administration’s reliance on government spending to solve the nation’s problems and the growing federal budget deficit.

What is most amazing is just how fast Barack Obama has plummeted in the polls. Obama has clearly lost the middle, the independent voters who fell for Obama’s claims of hope and change. During the campaign Obama passed himself off as a moderate who would bridge the divide between Democrats and Republicans. The fact of the matter is, Obama has been nothing short of a divisive, far left President that has been more partisan that under GWB.

The Change that Obama was talking about was never what America wanted. Now, one year into his Presidency, Obama finds himself under 50% and could be heading even farther south to the low 40’s. What could that spell for Democrats in 2010 and Obama in 2012?
