Arrest in connection with stabbing death at the University of Connecticut.

There has been an arrest connected with the senseless murder of UCONN football player Jasper Howard. According to reports, 21 year old Johnny Hood from Hartford, Ct was arrested in connection with the stabbing death of Jasper Howard. Hood is being held on $100K bond and charged with interfering with an officer and breach of peace. He has not been charged in the killing.

Johnny Hood was identified by witnesses as being involved in the fight that occurred Sunday night at UCONN following a school sponsored dance at the student union at approximately 12:30 am. Hood is reported by police to have provided a fake name. However, according to the report incident, Hood was identified as being involved in the attack by the second football player, Brian Parker, who was injured and name was previously unknown.

Brian Parker, a 19-year-old sophomore wide receiver from Sarasota, Fla., suffered small injuries during the melee, The Associated Press reported.

Parker, academically ineligible this season, was identified in a police report related to the arrest of Hood.

Parker was said to have identified Hood as a person who was involved in the attack, according to the incident report.

There is a second arrest to come in the stabbing death of Jasper Howard. According to ESPN, Hartford attorney Deron Freeman has been informed that his client will be arrested in the stabbing death of Howard. Freeman claims that his client was present at the time of the attack; however, was not the person who stabbed Howard.

Deron Freeman, a Hartford attorney, declined to identify his client, but said police questioned the man for more than six hours Sunday and took items from his home after serving a search warrant there.

“I expect he will be arrested,” Freeman told The Day when reached by phone Monday night. “My client … did submit himself to voluntary questioning for six hours. I talked with detectives and police later who indicated that an arrest warrant would be coming.”
