GEORGIA SENATE ELECTION 2014: David Perdue (R) – Michelle Nunn (D) … (Big Hold for GOP, Perdue Wins Going Away by over 50%)

Posted in: 2014 Elections,Battle Ground States - Swing States

ANOTHER HUGE HOLD OF SERVE FOR THE GOP IN GEORGIA AND OVER THE 50% THRESHOLD …

In a race that was thought to be close and a possible, maybe wishful pick up for Democrats, Republican David Perdue defeated Democrat Michelle Nunn in Georgia’s Senate race handily and over the 50% threshold, avoiding a runoff election. All the Democrats race-baiting failed to pull Nunn over the finish line. That is remarkable is that with 78% of the vote counted, the race is not even close. What is amazing is that Perdue never really polled above 50% prior to the election, but won big on election day.

Republican David Perdue defeated Democrat Michelle Nunn in Georgia’s Senate race Tuesday, winning enough votes to avoid a run-off after the holidays.

President Obama himself had appealed to black voters in Georgia, asking them to elect Nunn in order to prevent Republicans from winning control of the Senate.

Had neither candidate received 50 percent of the vote, a run off would have been held Jan. 6.

The race between Perdue, a businessman who was CEO of Dollar General, and Nunn, the CEO of the Points of Light nonprofit, has been heated in recent weeks.
