Favorite All Time Non-Religious Christmas Songs … TV Specials and Others
Posted in: Fun,Holidays,Personal
They just don’t make Christmas specials like they used to. Whether it be Rudolph the red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, The Grinch who Stole Christmas, Santa Claus is Coming to Town or A Charlie Brown Christmas, all were made from 1964 to 1970. All of these specials are timeless.
The music from these Christmas specials stick in your head all day. Whether it be Put One Foot in Front of the Other, Frosty the Snowman, Silver & Gold, or Hermey and Rudolph being “independent together” singing Couple of Misfits.
My personal favorite non-religious song of all times is Snoopy’s Christmas, Snoopy vs, the Red Baron. I believe I just dated myself. Tell us yours.
#1: Snoopy vs. The Red Baron (Snoopy’s Christmas) by the Royal Guardsmen
Ringing through the land
Asking peace of all the world
And good will to man
And forced him to land behind the enemy lines
Snoopy was certain that this was the end
When the Baron cried out “Merry Christmas, my friend!”
The Baron then offered a holiday toast
And Snoopy our hero saluted his host
And then with a roar they were both on their way
Each knowing they’d meet on some other day
# 2: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Actually the entire sound track to Rudolph with Burl Ives is a classic
#3: Frosty the Snowman … Jimmy Durante
Who does not love the voice of Jimmy Durante singing Frosty?
#5: A Charlie Brown Christmas – Christmas Time is Here Song
