A Christmas Miracle … Lisa Allinson Awakes from Coma to Discover She had Given Birth to Baby Benjamin

The Miracle of Christmas … The 34 year old Lisa Allinson went into a coma and woke up a mum. What greater gift could she have received than celebrating the birth of her son.  She was released from hospital in time to celebrate her baby’s first Christmas.  

A woman who went into a coma woke up six weeks later to be told she had become a mother.

Lisa Allinson, 34, was left fighting for her life after a rare pregnancy condition caused a massive stroke.

Shortly after giving birth to her first son, Benjamin, Mrs Allinson, a pharmacist, lost consciousness and was placed on a life-support machine.

Her husband Andy kept vigil by her bedside and doctors removed half her skull in an attempt to save her life.

Six weeks later Mrs Allinson stunned doctors by waking up. Paralysed and unable to speak, she was also suffering from memory loss and was shocked to be told she was a mother.

Yesterday, after six months in hospital, she was allowed home to celebrate Benjamin’s first Christmas. (Telegraph UK)
