Democrats Congress – First Battle – Shut Down Investigators Powers

Sitting on the sidelines watching the Republicans control the House of Representatives was pure pain for the Democratic Party. For 50 years this was their fifedom, and these interlopers were living in it. So after many failed attempts to regain the power by straight up means, they decided it was time to say anything to get back in power. So promises of ethical reform were made, promises to keep taxes the same, and so on and so on.

Well, now that they have the power, the truth is coming out in spades. Instead of their 100 hours of legislation that included ethics reform language, we have a full blown attempt to thwart any investigative powers that the Republicans gave the Justice Department.

At issue, as explained in the article by Susan Davis, are “privileged documents” amassed by various House Committees “that fall under the constitutional Speech or Debate Clause, which provides protection to Members of Congress.” The Counsel of the House of Representatives appears to have worked to block the release of the documents, which were gathered as part of the House’s own investigation of ex-Rep. Duke Cunningham, the California Republican who pleaded guilty in 2006 to accepting millions of dollars in bribes in the course of his work on the Appropriations Committee. via The Raw Story

I have a feeling this is going to be one of the most corrupt periods of our country as the Democrats fight over spoils they have been waiting for. Like the fat, greedy kid who opens all his Christmas presents before anyone has a chance to, and then tries to steal his brothers gifts.

Now if only the media will report these instance. But that is too much to ask.
