It Ain’t What You Know, It is Who You Know.
And if you worked for the incoming governor of the state of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, you do not have to go to trial for drunk driving. And if that is not enough, through in that your husband was an advisor to President Clinton and all your troubles go away.
Suzanne Magaziner, a Patrick campaign organizer married to ex-Clinton adviser Ira Magaziner, was busted April 4 in Mansfield after a trucker spotted her swerving on Interstate 95, the Sun Chronicle of Attleboro reported.
State police who pulled over Magaziner, 54, said she had bloodshot eyes, alcohol on her breath and failed sobriety tests. She also reportedly blew a .12 on a breath-alcohol test, which is above the state’s legal limit of .08. via the Boston Herald
Of course, the timing of the dropping f the charges was purely coincidental. The Friday before New Years is the biggest news day of the year. Not.
But the case was tossed out of Attleboro District Court on Friday at the request of a prosecutor from Bristol District Attorney Paul F. Walsh Jr.’s Office. The prosecutor, Roger Ferris, told the Sun Chronicle the case was dismissed at the request of his superiors.
Neither Ferris nor officials from Walsh’s office returned calls.
So the trick to getting out of DWI in Massachusetts after blowing a .12 and failing all of the sobriety tests is not getting a good lawyer and looking for a technicality. It is getting close to an ex President and the Incoming Governor. Then you will get justice.
Looks like Massachusetts is getting the government they deserve, although I doubt the incoming Governor did not put these perks in his campaign literature.
