The Gipper vs. the Fibber … Barack Obama Dare Compare Himself to Ronald Reagan on Taxes … Ya Might Want to Try Carter

President Barack Obama, I have met Ronald Reagan … and you are no Gipper.

Eye Rolling, it was a lot more than just that. Could Obama have made himself more disingenuous to House Republicans and ‘We the People” by actually comparing taxes during his administration to that of former President Ronald Reagan. Some how by Obama’s ridiculous comment that Obama is comparable to Reagan when it comes to taxes. Good grief. If Obama wants to bring up the past and Regan, maybe he would like to adopt the Gipper’s policies of economic job recovery. However, as stated by the Gateway Pundit, instead Obama demagogued about tax cuts today and then immediately asked Republicans to stop demagoguing.

Barack, You might want to make proper comparisons

Republicans attending a White House meeting on Wednesday didn’t take kindly to President Obama telling them tax rates were higher during the Reagan administration.

GOP members engaged in a lot of “eye-rolling,” according to a member who was on hand to hear Obama, who invited House Republicans to the White House for discussions on the debt ceiling. The White House and Republicans are trying to reach a deal on spending cuts that could allow the $14.3 debt ceiling to be raised.

“[The President] made a comment like the tax rate is the lightest, even more than (under former President) Reagan,” Rep. Lee Terry (R-Neb.) told The Hill following the meeting.

However, not every one wanted to attend the meeting. Some figured it would be a waste of time. They would not be disappointed. GOP House Rep. Jeff Landry (LA) refused to attend the Obama – GOP House meeting stating, “I have respectfully declined the president’s invitation to the White House today.” I don’t intend to spend my morning being lectured to by a president whose failed policies have put our children and grandchildren in a huge burden of debt.”

“Until the president produces a responsible deficit reduction plan, I’m not going to the White House to negotiate with myself. Our conference has put out for months where we would start the process,” Landry continued.White House press secretary Jay Carney said Obama wants to “hear and listen to their ideas, their concerns” during the meeting with the GOP.

Landry also criticized Obama for neglecting to meet with the Louisiana delegation about a drilling moratorium off the Gulf of Mexico.

“The President has done nothing, just like he has for the people of the Gulf Coast,” Landry said.
