Social Security: Didn’t the Dems Tell Us There Was No Problem

Posted in: Business,Politics

It wasn’t too long ago that Democrats were telling us that there was nothing wrong with social security. I guess they may want to take a look at why it will go belly up in 2041.

The trust fund for Social Security will go broke in 2041 – a year earlier than previously estimated – the trustees reported Wednesday. Trustees also said that Medicare, the giant health care program for the elderly and disabled, faces insolvency in 2020.

Treasury Secretary John Snow, chairman of the six-member board of trustees for both programs, said the estimates “leave no question that Social Security reform is needed and it is needed soon. Reform of this system, for the sake of our children, grandchildren and the financial future of our country, is a very real and pressing matter.”

Look what the Democrats were saying not too long ago. Let’s also take a look at how Harry Reid, Senate Minority Leader, has voted on some similar legislation. The Democratic Party has had such a track record of getting it entirely wrong and having no vision, plan or direction to lead this country whether it be for domestic or foreign policy. Do we really want these guys determining the future of social security for us, our children and grandchildren?
