Olive Garden Restaurant Apologizes to Kansas City Police Officer Asked to Leave Because He was Armed with a Gun

WHY DOES THIS CRAP CONTINUE TO HAPPEN TO POLICE AND MAYBE THE EMPLOYEES AT THESE ESTABLISHMENTS NEED TO BE SLAPPED UPSIDE THEIR HEADS …

Another day and another act of rude and nonsensical behavior from a restaurant establishment. This time it is The Olive Garden in near U.S. 40 and Noland Road in Kansas City. An employee told a Kansas City police officer, who was waiting on a bench to be seated and came to the restaurant in full uniform to celebrate his birthday with his family, that guns were not allowed and asked him to leave. Officer Holsworth asked the employee whether it was a joke, but when he asked whether the employee was serious, he said she replied, “Yes.” UNREAL.

Needless to say The Olive Garden brass is in full CYA apology mode as this negative story made its way through social media. Olive Garden’s president called the officer and apologized. I would like to know just one thing, how f*cking ignorant must anyone be, yes this is pointed directly to the girl who asked this police officer to leave, to think that a police officer, an individual tasked to protect and serve the community, can’t have a gun on him? Seriously, is this what we can expect from people today because they have been so brainwashed that guns and police are evil?

The irony of this story … The Olive Garden was located in Independence, MO.

The president of the Olive Garden restaurant chain called and apologized to a Kansas City police officer who was asked to leave an Independence restaurant because he was armed, a company spokesman said Sunday evening.

Dave George, the president of Olive Garden, personally apologized to Officer Michael Holsworth for his experience at the Olive Garden near U.S. 40 and Noland Road, said Rich Jeffers, a spokesman for Olive Garden. The employee clearly made a mistake.

“It’s unacceptable, that’s what it is,” Jeffers said. “Olive Garden welcomes members of law enforcement all the time in the restaurants. We love serving them. They serve our community. The least we can do is provide them a great meal.”

Holsworth posted to Facebook a message saying that he showed up at the restaurant to celebrate his birthday with his family. He was on duty at the time, so he was dressed in his full uniform.

While he was waiting on a bench, one of the employees asked him to leave, saying guns were not allowed in the restaurant. Holsworth said he thought it was a joke, but when he asked whether the employee was serious, he said she replied, “Yes.”

Maybe this girl needs police and gun sensitivity training. However, I would accept for her just to get a clue.

What was the race of the cop and the race of the hostess? Bingo! now you have the answer to what happened.
But don’t say it out loud, you’ll be called a racist if you do.

The President of Olive Garden not only did the right thing by calling the officer with an appology, but he should have offered a free meal to the officer and his family.

The next thing he should do is to totally review his training materials to include the state laws regarding carrying weapons by officers and how to treat those who may have concealed carry permits as well. At each hiring interview a prospective employee should be asked about their beliefs regarding the second amendment to the constitution. If the answer is negative, the interview should be terminated.

Texas, I really don’t believe it was about the gun, it was about a white cop and an African-American female who has a chip on her shoulder.

Heaven forbid that hostess should ever have to dial 911 in an emergency and the dispatch should tell her,

“Oh sorry – you’re outta luck – we only send help for callers who agree with our politics…”.

I emailed the OG corporate offices and informed them that until I heard that the hostess had been fired, I wouldn’t be returning to dine with them. I received a reply from Zachary in Guest Relations, who informed me that all employees will be retrained and all local laws will be followed with regard to concealed carry permits, but he never responded to the firing of the hostess, so I guess I’m Carrabba’s now.

I seriously doubt it was a race thing. What should have happened is that he should have asked to see a manager, because they would have kissed his feet, paid for his meal, and sent that girl to the breakroom for retraining.

That is definitely not a fireable offense. So had they let her go, she would have definitely enough for a lawsuit. No one was hurt. And there weren’t any threats or obscenities (from what i’ve read). So as it stands, the worst she could get is retraining. And if she has a super tough manager, she’d definitely get a write up.

SM: It all depends on the state. Some states there need be no reason to fire someone.

Maybe she will not serve you the next time.
