The girl’s parents grounded her and took away her cellphone Wednesday night. They think she took off the next day, but they have no idea where she went.

On Thursday, mom Kathy Harper said, Sierra appeared to be getting ready for school.

As the mom left for work, “I said, ‘Have a good day, love you,’” Kathy Harper recalled. “But she never got to school. We haven’t heard a word since.”

Sierra’s parents and siblings realized she was gone when they arrived home that evening.

“All her school supplies were on her bed,” Kathy Harper said, “but her backpack was gone.”
