RSSPolice Officers Turn Their Backs on Mayor de Blasio Again … This Time at the Funeral of NYPD Officer Wenjian Liu (VIDEO)
As Yogi Berra used to say, “It’s like deja-vu, all over again.”
Despite requests and the memo sent to the NYPD by Commissioner Bratten not to turn their backs this weekend on NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, today at the funeral of NYPD officer Wenjian Liu, police officers by the thousands ignored the request and once again turned their backs on NYC Mayor de Blasio.
Thousands of police turned their backs Sunday as Mayor Bill de Blasio eulogized an officer shot dead with his partner, repeating a stinging display of scorn for the mayor despite entreaties to put anger aside.
The show of disrespect came outside the funeral home where Officer Wenjian Liu was remembered as an incarnation of the American dream: a man who had emigrated from China at age 12 and devoted himself to helping others in his adopted country. The gesture among officers watching the mayor’s speech on a screen added to tensions between the mayor and rank-and-file police even as he sought to quiet them.
Sorry, but the police officers have every right to turn their backs in disrespect to the mayor. It was de Blasio who started this and continues to take the side of others against the NYPD. To get respect you must be worthy of respect and de Blasio is not. The police are supposed to be vilified by punks and the NYC mayor and in turn are supposed to just stand there and take it? Sorry police commissioner Bratton, it does not work that way and you know it.

There’s good New York Police Officers. But some are clearly not professional enough to be called NYPD. These NYPD (New York Police Divas) and their right wing fans think that cops are the only profession that should not be subject to scrutiny, accountability, and correction when they do their jobs incorrectly. The Divas and their ilk think cops are above the law and should never be held responsible for bad policing, which they claim doesn’t exist.
It’s funny because it’s all about politics for certain Republicans — not about reducing crime which rewarding good policing and punishing bad policing actually would do. Proof is how some Republicans criticize bad teachers — but they would howl and moan if people started calling them anti-teacher. But nobody will call Republicans anti-teacher because most people have the intellectual honesty to see the difference.
Because many conservatives are mendaciously dishonest, of course they want to shut down any attempt to reduce bad police work. Stoking division and encouraging bad policing — which is the inevitable result of their obsequious boot-licking of bad cops — actually creates more strife, less understanding, and less freedom and equality for the groups fringe conservatives think deserve less from society.
Everybody loves good cops. Only right wing conservative Republicans want more bad ones.

There is bad ones in every segment of out society including police, teachers, mayors and posters. I guess you must have missed our coverage of Drew Peterson.
