Following her amazing victory in the Iowa Senate race, Ernst becomes the first woman Senator from Iowa. Going into today’s election Ernst had a 2.3% lead in the average of RCP polls; however, there was a Des Moines Register poll that Ernst leading Braley by 7. Interestingly enough, with 94% of the votes counted, Ernst has a 52-44 lead. Hardly the close race many had expected, Ernst wins going away. Joni Ernst is going to make em all squeal like a pig.

Joni Ernst has been elected as the next U.S. Senator from Iowa. The Republican, a state Senator from Red Oak, defeated Democrat U.S. Representative Bruce Braley in one of the nation’s closest watched elections.
