Sen. John McCain Questions Swap “Highest High-Risk” Terrorists as White House National Security Adviser Susan Rice Defends United States Negotiating with Terrorists over Exchange of GITMO 5 for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl

A DANGEROUS PRECEDENT THAT THE US WILL RUE THE DAY …

White House national security adviser Susan Rice went on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ with Candy Crowley to defend the Obama administration’s decision to exchange five GITMO “high risk” Taliban detainees for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Rice also spun the fact that the Obama administration broke the law in not notifying Congress 30 days prior that there was a negotiation in process. But of course, what difference does it make with this administration, all they do is break the law, thumb their nose at separations of power and The US Constitution. Let alone negotiating with terrorists. How and why would something like this be deemed so sensitive that Congress was not notified? ” Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said on ABC’s ‘This Week,’ “What does this tell the terrorists? That if you capture a U.S. soldier, you can trade that soldier for five terrorists Cruz called the prisoner swap “very disturbing.”

White House national security adviser Susan Rice defended the Obama administration’s decision to exchange Guantanamo detainees for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, amid criticism that the United States negotiated with terrorists in the process.

She also said the “acute urgency” of Bergdahl’s health condition justified President Obama’s not notifying Congress beforehand that Bergdahl was being swapped for five Taliban detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

“What we did was ensure that, as always, the United States doesn’t leave a man or a woman on the battlefield,” Rice said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Susan Rice went on to parrot President Obama in saying, “What we did was ensure that, as always, the United States doesn’t leave a man or a woman on the battlefield.” However, there appears to be just one little problem with that statement … Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was not left on the battlefield, by all accounts he left his

From The Daily Caller: CNN’s Candy Crowley Grills Susan Rice: ‘Point Blank, Did The US Negotiate With Terrorists?’

Once again the Obama administration is playing games with words. Newsflash to Susan Rice by the associative property, if a=b and b=c then a=c, you negotiated with terrorists.

CNN host Candy Crowley pressed White House national security adviser Susan Rice on the Taliban prisoner swap conducted Saturday, asking “point blank, did the US negotiate with terrorists” in violation of its long-held policy?

Crowley spoke with Rice on Sunday about the exchange of five high-ranking Taliban detainees — two of which are accused of the mass murder of religious minorities in Afghanistan — for Army Sgt. Bowe Berghdahl, whom many claim was captured after deserting his post and walking into the Afghan wilderness in 2009.

Berghdahl was captured by the Haqqani network, a close ally of the Taliban and an acknowledged terrorist organization according to the State Department.

“Point blank, did the US negotiate with terrorists for his release?” Crowley asked.

“Candy, what we did was ensure that, as always, the United States doesn’t leave a man or woman on the battlefield,” Rice replied. “It’s very important for folks to understand, if we got into a situation where we said because of who has captured an American soldier on the battlefield, we will leave that person behind.”

John McCain went on CBS’s ‘Face the Nation’ and questioned the swap of “highest high-risk people” for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. McCain called the GITMO detainees, “These are the hardest of the hard core” and added that he was disturbed the Taliban named the prisoners they wanted in exchange for Bergdahl’s freedom.

Current and former U.S. officials welcomed the return of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the only American soldier held prisoner in Afghanistan, but voiced concern about the release of five members of the Taliban who had been held at the Guantanamo Bay as part of a negotiated prisoner swap.

“These are the hardest of the hard core. These are the highest high-risk people, and others that we have released have gone back into the fight,” said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in an interview on “Face the Nation,” adding that he was disturbed the Taliban named the prisoners they wanted in exchange for Bergdahl’s freedom.

Graham on Bergdahl Prisoner Swap: US Released the ‘Taliban Dream Team’
      June 02 2014

Moments ago, Senator Lindsey Graham sent a letter to Chairman Carl Levin (D-MI) and Jim Inhofe (R-OK), ranking member of the Senate Armed Services, requesting an immediate hearing on the transfer of U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl.

The Obama administration has come under fire for negotiating with terrorists and in essence, putting a price on American soldiers’ heads.

      Sen. Graham wrote:

I write today requesting an immediate hearing on the exchange of five high-ranking Taliban leaders for the release of Sergenat Bowe Bergdahl. While I appreciate an American was released from captivity, this decision by the Obama Administration has serious implications for our future national security.

The five terrorists released were the hardest of the hard-core. They held positions of great importance within the hard-core anti-American Taliban, including the Chief of Staff of the Taliban Army and the Taliban Deputy Minister of Intelligence. They have American blood on their hands and surely as night follows day they will return to the fight. In effect, we released the “Taliban Dream Team.” The United States is less safe because of these actions.

I fear President Obama’s decision will inevitably lead to more Americans being kidnapped and held hostage throughout the world.

There are also questions about why the Administration failed to comply with the law. We need a thorough review of this decision and I urge you to hold a hearing on this matter as it has profound implications for our national security.

With President Obama’s announcement of a total withdrawal from Afghanistan by 2016 – basically canceling an insurance policy to protect our homeland – and now releasing five Taliban leaders, it’s safe to say last week was a great week for the Taliban.

When their voting record on the issues over the past almost six years are considered … Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain have furthered Barack Obama’s Marxist/Islamic agenda of fundamentally changing America.

It may be that McCain and Lindsay’s current outrage is all an attempt at Conservative damage control or … maybe the prisoner exchange really has open their eyes and they recognize the dangerous course America is headed with the imposter at the helm.

      Which is it?

A connection? Did Jay Carney make a snap decision following a heads up regarding the prisoner exchange that enough was enough was enough when it came to defending Barack Obama’s scandals.

Maybe an investigation encompassing Bowe Bergdahl is something akin to “closing the barn door after the horse has escaped”. Only problem is … the risk five Taliban terrorists poses to US soldiers cannot be compared to a horse.

Sources: Intelligence community investigated Bergdahl’s conduct
      Published June 02, 2014

A senior official confirms to Fox News that the conduct of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl — both in his final stretch of active duty in Afghanistan and then, too, during his time when he lived among the Taliban — has been thoroughly investigated by the U.S. intelligence community and is the subject of “a major classified file.”

In conveying as much, the Defense Department source confirmed to Fox News that many within the intelligence community harbor serious outstanding concerns not only that Bergdahl may have been a deserter but that he may have been an active collaborator with the enemy.

The Pentagon official added pointedly that no relevant congressional committee has sought access to the classified file, but that if such a request were made, key committee chairs would, under previous precedent, likely be granted access to it. Separately, the Pentagon confirmed Monday that it is looking into claims Americans died during the search for Bergdahl.

If all the information of desertion is true then Mister Obama should be held accountable. In addition this man should be tried and if convicted punished to the fullest extent of the law. In the best case scenario the exchange was so lopsided it isn’t even funny. Mr. Obama his a terrible negotiator and a more horrible President.

Arrest obama….remove him from the office of Presidency, his misuse of power and relieve him of all his duties as Commander and Chief….the monster’s insanity and his hatred toward our country is completely unbelievable….obama is a muslim and his loyalty lies with the taliban….dedication and the safety of our country does not belong in the hands or the mind set of obama. We are not blind, deaf and dumb but still remain prisoners under this man of evil intent. The risk he has put us under is mind shattering.

had enough of your terrorist president yet ?

    8. kashekamon on June 3rd, 2014 3:10 pm

The internet and media is swarming with obama is a traitor….a dirty, foul, terrorist. His true colors and he thinks he hides in broad daylight but it is clear as day who he is….there has been many signs and warnings of his actions and intent to harm this country. Standing on a platform, early sign, some years ago, and disrespecting our American Flag by ignoring and not participating in the Pledge of Allegiance. A big stop sign, red light, that he is not an American!!!!

Undoubtedly still in contact with Rev Wright and his beliefs on hate for America. obama’s past history, all documents are sealed away. there’s probably a lot of incriminating evidence of who he really is.

His latest secret, behind our back, a criminal act. He has committed treason.

    9. super dave on June 4th, 2014 6:29 am

the real citizens of this country are the only ones that can end this attack by obama and his thug party. we are our only hope.

Last night on FOX, O’Reilly asked, “Is Susan Rice a Moron?” referring to her statement that Bergdahl had served with “Honor and Distinction.” This is the woman who insisted on five Sunday shows that the Benghazi massacre was the result of a silly internet video. Both statements are intentional lies. So yes, O’Reilly, Susan Rice is a moron.
