22 Year Old Jasmine Joseph Missing Since 2/24/14 in Syosset, NY (Update: Last Phone Call from Near Lifetime Fitness on Robbins Lane – MAP)(Update: Found Deceased in Vehicle, Suicide)
22 year old Jasmine Joseph as been missing since Monday, February 24, 2014 in Syosset, New York. The parents of Jasmine Joseph say she was last seen leaving her home in Syosset to attend nursing classes at the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, NY. She was last seen driving a 2012 gray Nissan Altima. However, the university says she hasn’t attended a class there since May of 2013. But the missing Long Island girls father has a statement that proved he paid for his daughter to attend the school this past fall semester. The Nassau Police are asking for the public’s help to find Jasmine Joseph.

Police say the parents of 22-year-old Jasmine Joseph, say she was last seen leaving her home in Syosset to attend classes at the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury.
According to Joseph’s parents, she called them just after 2:45 [Note: missing persons flyer says 5:17 pm] and said she was studying in the college library and she has not been seen or heard from since.
Joseph is described as an Asian, Indian female 5’4″ tall, 120 lbs, brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing white and black sneakers, black jeans and a green sweater.

New York Institute of Technology released the following statement:
“The NYIT Old Westbury community has been in contact with and is cooperating with the family of a former student, whom the family has reported as missing. Many students and staff members are actively helping to spread the word and share photos, in the hopes that the public will recognize this young woman and contact her family or the authorities. The young woman has not been a student enrolled at NYIT since May 2013; as such, we are unable to provide any current information. Our thoughts are with her loved ones.”

UPDATE I: From Find Jasmine Joseph … Jasmine last call to parents from Lifetime Fitness according to cell phone records.
According to the missing persons flyer for Jasmine, she was last spoke with her mother on Monday, 2/24/14 stating she was at the NYIT library at the Old Westbury campus and would be home within an hour. Now we know that Jasmine was not at the library at the time of the phone call to her parents, but instead at Lifetime Fitness at 350 Robbins Lane in Syosset, NY.
We just received information about Jasmine’s last known whereabouts according to cell phone records. Monday at 5:15 pm she was at Lifetime Fitness on Robbins Lane. If anyone saw her in that area please call the numbers on the flyer!! #teamjasmine #kompassist.
We are waiting for more information from the police, but the family went and checked it out and no one remembers seeing her there. It’s possible she was stopped outside and not inside the building. We will update as we receive more information.

UPDATE IV: Body Found Inside Car Is Jasmine Joseph
The body found inside the car of a 22-year-old Long Island woman missing since February is that of Jasmine Joseph, police confirmed Tuesday.
Joseph committed suicide and inhaled noxious fumes of some sort, police told 1010 WINS’ Mona Rivera.
No foul play is suspected, police said.
Nassau Police Inspector Kenneth Lack said Joseph “apparently inhaled a noxious substance, but the medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.”
