Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) Hammers DOJ’s Eric Holder on Compromised Integrity of IRS Investigation

How could this not be considered a conflict of interest?

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned Attorney General Eric Holder on the impartiality and conflict of interest in the IRS investigation of conservative groups and Tea Party organizations by the IRS. To data no one has been held accountable, even though President Obama and Holder both initially proclaimed their outrage. However, of all the attorneys in the Justice department, he managed to find one to lead the investigation that was a big Obama campaign donor. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! What would happen if a Republican administration did the same? These folks are as corrupt as it gets.

“In the 280 days since that inspector general report, nobody has been indicted,” Cruz said. “Not a single person. In the 280 days since that inspector general report, it’s been publicly reported that no indictments are planned. Today in this hearing, you were unwilling to answer a question whether even a single victim of targeting has been interviewed.”

And, Cruz said, “most astonishingly, it has now been publicly reported that the lead lawyer heading the investigation was, No. 1, appointed from the civil rights division, which has historically been the most politically charged division in the Dept. of Justice. And even more astonishingly, is a major Democratic donor and donor to President Obama.”

Hmm, what does the Obama administration and IRS have to hide … I thought this was supposed to be the most transparent presidency ever? Time to appoint an independent prosecutor. Where is the MSM reporting this abuse of power?

The Blaze:

Attorney General Eric Holder had a long day on Wednesday. He clashed with a number of no-nonsense lawmakers during a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, including Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

Cruz pressed Holder on the Justice Department’s investigation into the IRS targeting scandal, calling the results of the probe “astonishing.”

“In my view, the integrity of the Department of Justice has been severely compromised,” Cruz told Holder. “Predecessors of yours in both parties, Democrat and Republican, when faced with serious charges of abuse of power for partisan gain have made the right decision and appointed special prosecutors.”

“I would call upon you to carry out the tradition of independence that attorneys general have honored that office with for centuries and protect the integrity of the Department of Justice,” he later added. “Given the political sensitivities, given the fact that individual citizens believe they are being persecuted by the federal government for partisan reasons.”

No One Cares to Listen to Barack Obama’s Lies Anymore … Nielson Ratings for Obama’s 2014 SOTU was Lowest in 20 Years

Hey Barack, there just not that into you anymore, America tunes out President Obama, his promises, his agenda and his lies.

It is safe to say that America has grown tired and weary of the Obama presidency. According to the Nielson rating for Obama’s SOTU Tuesday night, was the lowest in 20 years. According to Neilson, the State of the Union Address registered only a 20.7 household share rating. That is a far cry from Obama’s 2009 SOTU ‘Hope & Change’ address where he garnered a 32.5  share. As Doug Ross opines,  I guess whiny, depressing liars aren’t good for ratings.” Obama fatigue has officially set in.

New York Congressman Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY) Threatens to Throw Snarky MSM Reporter Off Balcony … “If you ever do that to me again, I’ll throw you off this f*cking balcony” (Update: Grimm Apologizes)

Balcony-gate …

Really, the liberal media is shocked that some one would get pissed at an ambush interview? US Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY) threatens to throw NY 1 reporter off balcony following live ambush interview. Boy, that would have added some excitement to a completely boring SOTU address. Hmm, when listening to the reporter being interviewed below by CNN at the very end of the VIDEO you hear the words that raise some red flags when it comes to media interviews. Scotto said that the Congressman knew it was a live interview and the cameras were rolling; however, Scotto was asked did you have a deal with him prior to the interview with what the interview would and would not cover? Scotto was further asked, so Grimm has no expectation going into the interview that it would not be asked … his response, “that was not my understanding.” Gee, how subjective an answer is that?

“Let me be clear to you: If you ever do that to me again, I’ll throw you off this f***ing balcony,” Grimm said.

Scotto replied that he was just trying to ask “a valid question.”

“No, no. You’re not man enough, you’re not man enough. I’ll break you in half, like a boy,” Grimm replied.

UPDATE I: Grimm released a statement following the incident.

“I was extremely annoyed because I was doing NY1 a favor by rushing to do their interview first in lieu of several other requests. The reporter knew that I was in a hurry and was only there to comment on the State of the Union, but insisted on taking a disrespectful and cheap shot at the end of the interview, because I did not have time to speak off-topic. I verbally took the reporter to task and told him off, because I expect a certain level of professionalism and respect, especially when I go out of my way to do that reporter a favor. I doubt that I am the first Member of Congress to tell off a reporter, and I am sure I won’t be the last,” reads the statement.

I bet Obama would have loved it if Grimm tossed the reporter off the balcony, the focus would have been diverted to the Congressman, rather than Obama’s lame SOTU.

UPDATE II: Congressman Grimm Apologizes to NY1 Reporter…. Michael Scotto accepts apology.

After initially saying he did nothing wrong, Republican Rep. Michael Grimm picked up the phone and apologized Wednesday to NY1 Washington bureau reporter Michael Scotto.

“I apologized. I called Michael Scotto. He was very gracious and accepted my apology,” Grimm said. “We’re going to have lunch sometime next week and just make sure this is all behind us.
