Amber Alert Issued for 6 Year Old Daniel Britt Missing Since 1/3/14 from Woonsocket, RI … Abducted by Mother Andria Britt (Update: Amber Alert Canceled Boy Found Safe, Mother Arrested)
An Amber Alert has been issued for 6 year old Daniel Britt who has been missing since January 3, 2014 from Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Daniel was taken by his mother, 34 year old Andria Britt. Both she and the boy’s father, Sean Britt, shared custody of Daniel; however, she skipped a court date last week and failed to return the boy to him. The court had granted the father sole custody. An arrest warrant has been issued for Andria Britt. The Amber Alert also cited an ‘‘immediate risk of harm’’ to both Andria and Daniel Britt, but a reason wasn’t disclosed. However, in the video below it is referenced that Andria has a history of mental illness.
Authorities said Andria Britt drives a red 2004 Ford Focus with Rhode Island license plate number 942649. She’s 35, 135 pounds and 5 feet, 5 inches.
Daniel Britt has blue eyes and brown hair. He is 4 feet, 3 inches and 50 pounds.
Police officers from Woonsocket were in Newton, Massachusetts Wednesday afternoon trying to track down family and friends of Andria. Andria’s sister lives in the area, but police would not say if they talked to her. Waltham Police had originally reported that Andria’s cell phone was pinged in Newton. Woonsocket Police now say it was the sister’s phone that officers were tracking.
“I just want him home, I just want him home. That’s all,” Sean Britt said. “If she wants to drop him off at a hospital, church, police station, whatever. Just drop my son off.”
Amber Alerts are carried on broadcast outlets and sent as text messages on mobile devices in a partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The Britt alert covered all of Rhode Island and bordering areas of Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Andria Britt is described as a white female, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighs approximately 135 pounds. She also has brown hair and blue eyes.

Police around the country are now on the lookout for a 1992 gray Chevy Astro van with Washington state license plate ABR1512. This vehicle is in addition to a red 2004 Ford Focus with Rhode Island registration 942-649.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Woonsocket Police Department at 401-766-1212.
Daniel Britt, the 6-year-old Woonsocket boy, the subject of an Amber Alert who was taken by his mother, was found safe in Washington state Thursday evening.
Woonsocket police Detective Sgt. Matt Ryan at a late night news conference said that more than a dozen agencies around the country helped find the boy and his mother.
Ultimately, it was the Seattle office of the FBI that negotiated a voluntary surrender with the help of the mother’s family members.
The mother, Andria Britt, is in Island County Jail, charged with being a fugitive from justice, and child snatching, which carries up to a two-year sentence.
Police said additional charges for Britt, as well as for other people, could follow as the investigation continues.
