One thing is for certain, there seems to be a slight deficiency in the old priorities here as man risks life to save beer from burning building …
You know, you just can’t make this stuff up. It’s the age old question, what is the one thing you would save if your house was on fire? Well a Georgia man thinks it is his beer. That is correct. Walter Serpit said he made sure that five adults and two children escape the flames, but he turned back to grab his stash of Bud Light. I know what you are thinking, it was some Georgia redneck … ah, you would be wrong. Walter Serpit said that they were all watching TV in his Columbus, GA home when the fire broke out and the room began to fill with smoke.
I went back into the house like a dummy.” That’s what one man in Georgia said after he risked his life to save beer from his fridge while his house was on fire.
The flames broke out while six adults and two young children were watching TV. Everyone quickly made it outside safely.
But then Walter Serpit, who walks with a cane, rushed back into the burning building to save something near and dear to him.
“I told them to get the kids out and everything, and me myself, being an alcoholic, I was trying to get my beer out,” he said. “You feel me?”
Fire personnel are blaming a newly installed water heater for the blaze. We will blame a lack of brain cells for Mr. Serpit running back into the burning building for his beer. Maybe there is a future Bud Light commercial in this man’s future.
