A Colorado transgender group is demanding free mammograms under the new Obamacare law claiming discrimination, even though current federal guidelines state that only women who are “genetically female” are eligible for subsidized mammograms. even though the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force updated guidelines to say that woman in their 40′s should not get routine mammograms for early detection of breast cancer, watch Barack Obama claim that it is unfair that transgender and that their civil rights are being violated. Because its all about the free stuff.
News that an uninsured transgender woman in Colorado was denied a free mammogram has prompted two advocacy groups to petition the federal government for equality in screening.
“That is irrational discrimination, plain and simple,” said Harper Jean Tobin, director of policy for the National Center for Transgender Equality.
“Breast-cancer screenings save lives and should be available to all women, period,” added Shane Snowdon, director of the Human Rights Campaign’s health and aging program.
President Obama’s 2010 Affordable Care Act prohibits discrimination “on the basis of sex, including on the basis of gender identity or sex stereotyping,” they wrote Friday in a letter to Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Current federal guidance says that only women who are “genetically female” are eligible for subsidized mammograms.

Everyone can get breast cancer. If they screen one sex for free, they should screen both. I do not want to hear of my son, my brother, my nephew, my father, my Godchild, my cousin, my grandson, my grandfather or anyone else’s relatives or friends dying from such a dreadful disease because they were not tested because they could not afford the testing. It is a disease so prolific and formidable it has its own month. This is that month, if you haven’t gotten your mammo yet, go get it. Your life may depend on it.
Our society was not built on the concept of women who wanted to be men or men who wanted to be women. This is just another version of harassment from the homosexuals in order for them to have status.
These people are mentally sick and need extensive treatment in a controlled facility. They make up less than two percent of society.
If these she-he’s want free stuff reserved for women, then I say forget it, you have to live as a man and take the rules that society sets for men.
What’s the problem? It would be much less costly to diagnose breast tissue for cancer than dealing with it later. The VA scheduled me for a mammogram automatically……..just because I have a transgender history. Aren’t they a federal dept?
