Obama’s Overseas Contingency Operation: Bill Kristol Says … A Year Ago Barack Obama Said Al Qaeda Is On The Run, “And Now We Seem To Be On The Run”

On FOX News Sunday Bill Kristol said what had to be said. Barack Obama has been a failure in the War on Terror … Oh sorry, Overseas Contingency Operation.

Barack Obama played presidential reelection politics during the 2012 Presidential election with the war on terror and boasted that Al-Qaeda was on the run, decimated on on the path to destruction. Now flash-forward to 2013 and nothing could be further from the truth. As stated at Legal Insurrection, how did a “Decimated” al-Qaeda causes U.S. to shut embassies and go on high alert? You can’t blame this one on George W. Bush, although I am sure Obama will find some one to find fault with other than himself and his failed policies.

The most damning comment Kristol made was  ” … year ago the president said Al Qaeda is on the run. And now we seem to be on the run.” And that appears to be the case. Suddenly, after Americans were told that Obama was well on the way to defeating terrorism, we find out quite the contrary. Isn’t it rather peculiar though that in an election year, just one month before the actual election that Benghazi was attacked on September 11, 2012 after months of warnings of terror threats and requests for fortifying the Consulate. However, in a non-election year, after Barack Obama wins 4 more years, he is willing to make unprecedented closings of dozens of Embassies and Consulates acrodd the Middle East and North Africa. Obama could not even see fit to address Benghazi during the 2012 presidential election and went with the lie that it was a result of a video tape.

From Real Clear Politics:

BILL KRISTOL, THE WEEKLY STANDARD: Four years ago President Obama gave a much heralded speech as outreach to the Muslim world. And now, four years later we are closing embassies throughout the Muslim world. The year ago the president said Al Qaeda is on the run. And now we seem to be on the run. I’m not criticizing the decision to close the embassies. That’s probably the right thing to do for the sake of trying to save American lives and others, but it’s a terrible thing. That, you know, just a year ago boasting Al Qaeda is on the run and Osama bin Laden is dead. And now an unprecedented closure of 22 embassies and the travel alert, which lasts for a month, which incidentally — I’m not sure people understand that State Department hates to do that.

You know, this — this is the highest level of the — the travel advisory they do (inaudible), and the travel alert, every host government dislikes that. It cuts tourism. They are objecting to the ambassadors there, the ambassadors are cabling back to the State Department saying, travel alert, are you sure we have to do that? For the U.S. government and the State Department to issue a travel alert for the next month means the threat is serious.

Islamic factions may have their differences and thus the ongoing struggle for respective control but … when all is said and done … ALL factions are on common ground when it comes to the destruction of Israel … when it comes to the agenda to takeover infidel democratic nations of the free world. The following article is an excellent read in its entirety.

West: U.S. Must Understand 21st-Century Combat
      Nov. 2, 2011

To begin with, we must correctly identify our enemy. It is frankly naive to say we are at war with “terror” because a nation cannot be at war with a tactic. Imagine, if during World War II, the United States went to war against the “blitzkrieg” or the “kamikaze.”

Further, we cannot narrowly define the enemy as simply al-Qaida or the Taliban. It is just as ridiculous to say we declared war against the 12th German Panzer Division or the 55th Japanese Infantry Regiment in World War II or the 7th Guards Tank Division during the Cold War.

On this 21st century battlefield WE ARE NOT FIGHTING AGAINST A SINGLE ORGANIZATION, LEADER OR NATION. We are fighting against the ideology of Islamic totalitarianism, manifested at a tactical level as terrorism, which knows no country and recognizes no borders.

Lt. Col. Allen West gets it: Islam is the enemy
      November 12, 2010

…. Notice again Col. West’s straightforward assessment: “This is not a perversion. They are doing exactly what this book says.”

In other words, Islamism is not our problem; radical Islam is not our problem; extremist Islam is not our problem. Our problem is Islam itself.

And Col. West understands that unless we get past this blithering nonsense that Islam is a religion of peace we will continue to pursue policies that make us less safe every day:

Said West, “Until you get principled leadership in the United States of America that is willing to say that, we will continue to chase our tail, because we will never clearly define who this enemy is, and then understand their goals and objectives — which (are) on any jihadist website — and then come up with the right (and) proper objectives to not only secure our Republic but secure Western civilization.”

      The Enemy Within
      Wednesday, July 11, 2012

Hamid Mohammadi is a cultural affairs counsellor with the Iranian embassy in Ottawa. During an interview he recently gave in Farsi to a website directed at Iranians living in Canada he called upon them to infiltrate the Canadian government and advance Iran’s interests both inside and outside the country. He said the embassy plans to reach out to the Iranian community in Canada by presenting cultural programs, the goal being to persuade Iranians in Canada to “be of service to our beloved Iran.

History of the cult of Islam should tell all that their aim is to control the world.

Proper identification of the enemy in a war or battle is essential to winning. The Western world cannot fight a war using police tactics. This is exactly why Obama uses them via the DOJ and limiting the ability of field commanders to make decisions based on conditions on the ground.

Our big problem is that we have a muslim/islamist occupying the white house. He has already published in his book that he will stand with the muslims.

At beginning of August … a CNN reporter interviewed a crucial suspect in the Benghazi attack … a suspect who had yet to be interviewed by the FBI or Libyan investigators. Today … the US is filing charges against that suspect. What a dog and pony show!!
