Republican Chairman Reince Priebus Calls Harry Reid a “Dirty Liar” in Response to Dingy Harry’s Tax Accusations (Video)

This weekend on ABC News ‘This Week.’ the Republican Chairman Reince Priebus called Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid a “Dirty Liar”. The comment was made in response to Reid’s shameful and unsubstantiated comments that Mitt Romney had not paid taxes in the last 10 years.  This is what it has come to for Democrats. They cannot run on the number one issue in America, the economy, so they look to divert and distract with nonsense and silliness. Barack Obama cannot run on his record so Democrats must lower themselves and just throw out accusations with no proof. Sadly, they don’t even care to find out whether such accusations are truthful or not. In 2008 Barack Obama ran as the candidate of hope and change and who would change the way business is done in Washington, DC. Four years later, Obama is running one of the most negative campaigns through his campaign, minions and surrogates.

Previously, Romney told Harry Reid that “it’s time to put up or shut up”. I wonder how willing Reid would be to produce his tax returns? Better yet, I wonder how Reid would act and respond if some one said something damning about him through an unnamed and unknown source?

I would like to add that David Axelrod made a fool of himself when being interviewed by Chris Wallace. His stammering and sputtering was the only clear precise thing he said!

Obama and Romney campaigns are both mostly negative. Sad reality of the state of things.

More on Topic, the more Romney points at the WH as the source of this information, they actually giving credibility to it. Better for Romney to call the accusation out for the silliness that it is, than to imply that the information came from some who actually might have the resources to know the truth (illegal resources, but resources).

RE: “Democrats must lower themselves and just throw out accusations with no proof”

From what was said in this exchange, the above idea can be just as easily applied to Republicans.

If Reince claims Reid is a dirty liar, then he must have seen the truth. Unless he is also lying or just repeating a talking point.

He should be asked if he personally knows for a fact that Romney has no $0 tax returns, and also explain how he knows that is the case.

If not, he is likely the one who is a dirty liar.

PS – the only proof of any sort on the taxes can only come from Romney’s tax forms. And that is the absolute truth!

RE: “Sadly, they don’t even care to find out whether such accusations are truthful or not.”

I’ve not heard this idea mentioned before; seems suspicious somehow. I can’t see any logic in what it means, either. The truthfulness of the allegation is only proven by releasing the tax returns.

If truthful, then Romney has one more lie to live with and explain, as well as the story behind the tax returns themselves. If not, then Reid has likely been damaged beyond repair, and the Dems will also be negatively affected.

I really can’t imagine anyone not wanting to know the truth here. Wouldn’t the staunchest conservative Republican and Romney supporter want to know if s/he was being lied to (along with their fellow Americans) if the accusation was true. Or conversely, to know that Reid perpetrated this claim with little to go on?

Really, so if some one makes a ridiculous accusation toward someone with no proof, but just because some one makes the accusation, it the individual who is slandered to disprove? Do you really want to go there? So if someone said that they heard a Nevada Senator slept with farm animals and it must be true because some one told them, its Reid’s obligation to disprove?

Come on dude, you are better than that. I think.

Well, being careful with my words, I never did say that it must be true in the current situation. Reid alleges that Romney hasn’t paid taxes in 10 years, which Romney denies. The truth is unknown for now.

Reid statements are themselves proof of nothing; in fact, he is unable to prove what he alleges. Romney’s denials are proof of nothing. No matter who is talking about this, since all the evidence is spoken words, there is no proof available. How could it be otherwise?

The only proof that exists are the tax returns; they either show taxes paid, or they don’t.

BTW, I’m not trying to say that it is the obligation of “affected” party (Romney) in these situations, to disprove anything. Denial is an acceptable reply. However, that is not proof; Romney holds that, and only he can bring it forth in this case.

HYPOTHETICALLY, if a Nevada Senator was accused of as in your example, I’d say the allegation needs proof from the accuser, as they can either substantiate the claim, or not. The senator can’t prove the negative, that something didn’t happen.

RK, if the LSM would do their job then Harry would be looking for some remote island in the pacific to relocate to over this Nevada power deal that not only he is involved in but his son also. This stinks of raw sewage and the LSM has not said a word yet and you know they won’t. If this was any kind of GOP member even a lowly state legislator it would be all we see on the TV. This is the head of the senate that done this and nothing is being reported because he is a democrap.

let’s have obama’s school records in exchange for a tax return, one for one. obama won’t release any of his info because it will prove that he is an illegal. already his classmates are proving his corruption.
a tax return for a school record. a tax return for his application for a ss # in conneticut that doesn’t belong to him. a tax return for a legal birth certificate. surely obama could come up with some kind of courage ? maybe ? i don’t think so.

WEBIII: I guess the thousands of articles this Google search (http://goo.gl/lKOc7) finds from the past week is the same as “not one word” as you claim. I suppose these media articles aren’t the type you’re looking for; so what do you want the media to report?

Unless Romney releases his returns, neither Reid’s nor Priebus’s comments are provable, merely assertions. In Priebus’s case, he has not even spoken about what his “dirty liar” claim is based on. If he saw the returns, he should tell us that’s the reason he knows Reid is such a liar. If he hasn’t seen them, he has no basis to make his claim.

In any case, back to you: it seems you have a credibility issue, and your comments are quite suspect in all they say. It’s unfortunate when the talking points don’t align with reality. :-(

Have you ever considered trying truthfulness as a means to offer comments? :-)
