Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio: “I’m Not Stopping Anything” … “I am not going to Bend to the Feds when there are State Laws to Enforce”

Obama’s war on the States …

Yesterday, Sheriff Joe Apraio was on Fox News with Neil Cavuto discussing the Court’s ruling as to the Arizona illegal immigration laws. Arizona Sheriff Joe Apraio said that there seems to be a war on Arizona over this illegal immigration problem. Apraio also went on to say, “I’m Not Stopping Anything”.

“I’m not stopping anything. I’m going to continue to enforce those state laws regardless of what the federal government is trying to put pressure on me to satisfy all these activists, which by the way are in front of my building right now.”

“Three and half years they’ve been in front of my building. So, I’m not going to bend to the federal government, especially when we still have state laws to enforce.”

Let’s just take a moment to remember the Presidential oath of Office that Barack Hussin Obama took. I guess we know know what Obama’s best ability is of defending the Constitution.

ROBERTS: Are you prepared to take the oath, Senator?
OBAMA: I am.
ROBERTS: I, Barack Hussein Obama…
OBAMA: I, Barack…
ROBERTS: … do solemnly swear…
OBAMA: I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear…
ROBERTS: … that I will execute the office of president to the United States faithfully…
OBAMA: … that I will execute…
ROBERTS: … faithfully the office of president of the United States…
OBAMA: … the office of president of the United States faithfully…
ROBERTS: … and will to the best of my ability…
OBAMA: … and will to the best of my ability…
ROBERTS: … preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
OBAMA: … preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
ROBERTS: So help you God?
OBAMA: So help me God.

Ronald Reagan – 40th President of the USA (1981-1989)

“One legislator accused me of having a nineteenth-century attitude on law and order. That is a totally false charge. I have an eighteenth-century attitude. That is when the Founding Fathers made it clear that the safety of law-abiding citizens should be one of the government’s primary concerns.”

States face uphill climb on immigration enforcement after court ruling, DHS shift
      Published June 25, 2012

The day’s decisions further weakened efforts by Arizona, and potentially other states, to take on immigration enforcement themselves.

The move means that even if local police step up immigration checks, they’ll have to rely on federal officials to make the arrests.

And federal officials made clear that ICE would be selective in responding to the expected rise in calls from Arizona and other police agencies about immigration status. Officials said ICE will not respond to the scene unless the person in question meets certain criteria — such as being wanted for a felony.

      ERIN BURNETT OUTFRONT
Supreme Court Upholds Key Arizona Provision; Interview with Sheriff Joe Arpaio
      Aired June 25, 2012 – 19:00 ET

BURNETT: In terms of racial profiling. Or how you’re saying that the numbers do not support racial profiling.

ARPAIO: No, it does not. We arrest anybody that violates the law. We don’t care where they’re from. It just happens we’re close to the border and a lot of the people coming in come from Mexico and they’re here illegally. That’s not my problem. So we’re just enforcing all the laws and we’re going to continue to do it regardless of the new policy that I hear over the air waves, which I predicted early this morning that they’re not going to pick up those that we arrest, law enforcement arrests unless they’re serious criminals.

So I guess there’s another issue of amnesty right now without going to Congress and getting the laws changed.

BURNETT: One final question. The show-me-your-papers provision which was upheld today based on police stopping people due to, quote, “reasonable suspicion,” what is reasonable suspicion? Is it just traffic stops? How else do you define it?

ARPAIO: No, the traffic stop is not reasonable suspicion. A stop that’s made — on a crime or a traffic violation of the law. And then you determine if the person here with suspicion is here illegally and then you talk to ICE about that problem and ICE, I presume, will pick them up. But now I predict they’re not going to pick them up. So what do we do? We dump them on the streets even though they’re here illegally?

      Illegal immigration laws.

Got to love the ambiguity of the English language…does the Illegal part describe the immigration or the laws?
