House Passes Payroll Tax Cut Extention with Keystone XL Pipeline … Will Obama Veto?

The US House of Representatives passed the payroll extension  234-to-193. H.R. 3630 was supported by 224 Republicans and 10 Democrats, that included the addition of the Keystone XL pipeline.  President Barack Obama has threatened to veto the bill. The question remains, why would Obama not want to further a “shovel” ready job project that would put many back to work? Isn’t this what he claimed his presidency was about, putting people back to work?

Defying a veto threat from President Obama, the House on Tuesday passed a bill extending a cut in Social Security payroll taxes for 160 million Americans for another year. But the Democratic majority in the Senate vowed to reject the measure because of objections to other provisions, including one to speed construction of an oil pipeline from Canada to the Gulf Coast.

The 234-to-193 vote set the stage for negotiations between the House and the Senate that were likely to continue into the weekend.

Now we shall see whether President Barack Obama backs up his words and vetos the bill since it contains the Keystone XL pipeline. The Lonely Conservative thinks that he will not have to play Grinch, as US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will do so instead.

As it turns out, Obama may not have to veto anything, thanks to Senate Majority Leader Harry  Reid (D-NV), who said that if Republicans include anything in the bill the Democrats don’t like he will allow the government to shut down. He’s tying the tax cut extension to the omnibus funding bill. The Hill reported:

Who shall blink first and who will get the blame if the payroll tax cuts are not extended?

Barack Obama, the Incredible Blaming President … Still Blaming GWB … “If He Knew How Bad The Economy Was, He “Could Have Warned Americans”

The Incredible Blaming President …How about some cheese with that Whine?

Once again Barack Obama’s answer to the economy is, blame Bush and he did not know the full extent of the economic crisis when he took office. Does that mean that Obama would not have promises to keep unemployment below 8% before he spent $787 billion down a rat hole? Mr. President, no one wants to hear what if, they want answers and they want results, you have provided neither.

President Barack Obama said Tuesday he wishes he knew the full extent of the economic crisis when he took office, if only so he could have let Americans know just how tough the coming years would be.

“I think we understood that it was bad, but we didn’t know how bad it was,” Obama said in an interview with KIRO in Seattle. “I think I could have prepared the American people for how bad this was going to be, had we had a sense of that.”

Obama’s comments came as he sat down with a string of local TV reporters on Tuesday morning to sell his proposal to extend the payroll tax cut while highlighting the end of the Iraq war. He also did brief interviews – all under 10 minutes – with WVEC in Norfolk, Va., WEAR in Pensacola, Fla., and KOAA in Colorado Springs, Colo.

As Weasil Zippers states, when it comes to President Barack Obama, the buck stops with George W. Bush. Many have questioned Obama’s lack of leadership as President, this certainly does not stop that debate. However, the problem is not what Obama may have inherited, the problem is that Obama’s policies, agenda and political philosophy have made matters worse.

Imagine a football coach in the 3rd year of his contract and having taken over a team that was 8 and 8 and now finds himself a 5 and 11 and no signs of getting better asking for a raise and a contract extension. Most leaders take on a challenge and relish in the fact of turning bad situations around.  They don’t whine and expect everything to be easy and handed to them. However, not when it comes to this President. Obama was never qualified for the office and America is paying a dear price for that fact.

It does not matter how bad things were, what matters is how you fix it. It is obvious and it comes from the horses mouth, Obama is over his head and has no solutions. Four more years of Obama would be the equivalent of taking the car in the ditch and driving it off the cliff … if we are not already there. There is a reason why 75% of Americans think the country is headed in the wrong direction and 54% believe that Obama does not deserve reelection.

EXIT QUESTION: If America knew how bad Barack Obama would be as President could we have been warned as well?

Christiane Amanpour Out of ABC’s “This Week” Returning to CNN as George Stephanopoulos Returns

‘This Week’ without David Brinkley will also soon be without Christiane Amanpour …

The less than spectacular run of Christiane Amanpour on ABC’s ‘This Week’ is over. Amanpour will be going back to CNN as former ‘This Week’ anchor George Stephanopoulos will return to anchor “This Week” while remaining on GMA. Let’s face it “This Week” was unwatchable with Christiane Amanpour.

George Stephanopoulos back to ‘This Week’ to remind Obama during interview not to say “his Muslim faith”

George Stephanopoulos is returning to Sunday mornings at ABC News, replacing Christiane Amanpour as host of the political talk show “This Week.”

ABC said Tuesday that Stephanopoulos, who returns Jan. 8, will remain as host of “Good Morning America,” although likely on a four-day schedule. [...]

But the dawning of an American election year seemed to serve her competitors, old Washington hands Bob Schieffer at CBS and David Gregory at NBC, better.

The Sunday morning show was much stronger in the ratings behind Stephanopoulos, who was host from 2002 to 2010. ABC moved him to New York and “Good Morning America,” which has done well in the ratings by teaming him with Robin Roberts.

Amanpour said she was looking forward to getting back out to do more international reporting and speaking to a worldwide audience on CNN, where she worked for more than two decades.

The question that needs to be asked is not why Amanpour is out, that is obvious. The real question is why did ABC go with George Stephanopoulos as her replacement. Haven’t we seen this already? As stated by Hugh Hewitt, why didn’t ABC slot Jake Tapper as the replacement host? The answer, ABC is more worried about putting an Obama puppet in the anchor chair than they are an effective and popular journalist like Tapper. What, attract a new auduaince of center-right viewers and a news abnchor that might actually question and challenge Obama and his minions during an election year. NEVER. This is the liberal and bias MSM after all, they must carry the water for Barack in 2012 because Obama’s record certainly isn’t going to do the trick.

Apparently the risk of attracting center-right viewers by bringing in Tapper who is very tough on everyone, as was the late Tim Russert, was just too big of a risk to run in a year when President Obama needs help from his MSM pals.  Stephanopoulos runs a decent show but, like the 60 Minutes gang did on Sunday night, is never going to hit the president hard with obvious and pressing questions.

Dem Rep. Dennis Cardoza Tears Obama a News One, Calls him “Arrogant” & Says Obama Behaves “More Like a Professor” Than a President

When Democrats attack their own …

Democrat US Representative Dennis Cardoza from California calls it like he sees it. Cardoza stated that president Obama might prefer to be a university professor rather than do the job he holds today. Maybe he would do a better job being a professor. After all, professors can yap all they want, pontificate and not care about results. Sounds perfect for Obama.

After observing President Obama for the last three years, it has become obvious to me that the president might prefer to be a university professor rather than do the job he holds today. While he might not realize that he feels this way, the evidence is very clear to those who work with or watch him closely.

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Unemployment Didn’t Go up Under Obama. YOU LIE!

What good is a message if its a complete and total lie? Is this really what Democrats are going to run on in 2012?

Yesterday DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz went on Fox & Friends and lied through her teeth. While spewing her Obama, Democrat talking points she stated, “Unemployment didn’t go up under Obama!” Watch the VIDEO below and meet the Baghdad Bob of the Democrat party.

A note to the DNC, Debbie and Barack, unemployment is not going down because people are getting jobs, its going down because people have given up looking for them. Its hardly because of any jobs that Obama has provided in his wasteful government spending and stimulus plans.

The following from Hot Air are the facts that Debbie Wasserman Schultz seems to have trouble comprehending. Or is it that it does not fit her narrative?

Here are a few facts that seem to have gotten past Wasserman Shultz as the head of a major political party, and as a member of Congress:
•Jobless rate in January 2009: 7.8%.  Jobless rate in November 2011: 8.6%.
•Number of employed in January 2009, in thousands: 133,563.  In November 2011: 131,708
•Civilian participation rate in January 2009: 65.7%.  In November 2011: 64.0%
•Unemployment level in January 2009, in thousands: 11,984.  In November 2011: 13,303
•Number of people not in labor force, January 2009, in thousands: 80,554.  In November 2011: 86,558

Let’s stop the fuzzy math. The unemployment rate is not 8.6%, as stated at the Lonely Conservative, unemployment is 11% if you count those who gave up in despair. Stop the madness if anyone actually thinks that the job situation is getting better. A lower unemployment number has nothing to do with job creation when only 100K jobs are created in a month. Via the the Financial Times comes the following:

According to government statistics, if the same number of people were seeking work today as in 2007, the jobless rate would be 11 per cent. Some have moved from claiming unemployment benefits to disability benefits, and have thus permanently dropped out of the labour force. Others have fallen back on the charity of relatives. Others still have ended up in prison.

Flip-Flopper: Obama Says on ’60 Minutes’ … “I Always Believed” Fixing the Economy Was “Going to Take Longer Than One Term” … What Happened to One Term Proposition? (VIDEO)

During last nights CBS ’60 Minutes’ interview with Steve Kroft, President Barack Obama was reminded of the terrible situation with the economy and asked about his job approval numbers with said economy. However, once again Obama blamed George W. Bush and Republicans, not his policies and agenda over the past three years. Then came the ultimate, convenient flip-flop, Barack Obama said, “I always believed” fixing the economy was going to take “longer than one term.”

Steve Kroft: We have a new CBS poll, which is out this weekend. And I’ll give you the news that’s good for you first. People like you. They respect you. They think that you’re working hard. And they realize that you faced an enormous amount of trouble and problems, many of them inherited. And you’re approval rating is four times higher than the Congress.

President Barack Obama: That’s a low bar, I gather.

Kroft: But they’re not happy with the way you’re doing your job. You’ve got 75 percent of the people in the country think it’s headed in the wrong direction. Seventy-five percent. And 54 percent don’t think that you deserve to be re-elected. I mean, those are not good numbers with 11 months to go before the election.

The full transcript can be read HERE.

So Obama always thought that the it would take longer than one term, eh? As we are reminded by the Gateway Pundit in the VIDEO below, that is hardly what The One said on the Today Show in 2009. Then Obama said,
“my Presidency will be ‘a one term proposition’ if  the economy does not turn around in three years.” So what ever happened to that follow up question? How about it Barack, your days of blaming others are over, take some responsibility for one. You wanted to be President … own it!

“Look, I’m at the start of my administration. One nice thing about the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. You know, I’ve got four years. A year from now I think people are going to see that we’re starting to make some progress. But there’s still going to be some pain out there. If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.”

In 2012 President Obama, you will be judged on the economy! People are tired of your blame game, how many times are you going to remind us of the difficult situation you took over? If your not up to it Mr. President, go!
