OWS Protestors Cost Local Businesses $479,400 … That is Only the Beginning

What an Obamanation really looks like …

What are these people protesting again? Weren’t they supposed to be against banks? Occupy Wall Street has now cost NYC local businesses $479,400!  The very places that they are occupying, they are ruining. This is hardly the actions of the real 99%. How much longer is Mayor Bloomberg going to allow this to go on where businesses are suffering at the hands of these vagrants? Does any one not think that the business owners that are losing money are nor a part of the 99%? The Occupy Wall Street protesters have no issue with occupying a local business and spending no money in the establishment. At some point maybe Obama would like to call these people for what they really are … LAZY! Oh, that’s right, he only refers to CEO’s as lazy.

It makes no cents.

The Occupy Wall Street movement has cost surrounding businesses $479,400 so far, store owners said.

A Post survey of a dozen restaurants, jewelry shops, beauty salons, a chain store and mom-and-pop establishments tallied almost a half-million dollars lost in the 53 days since the Zuccotti Park siege began on Sept. 17.

“We’re done with them!” barked one Broadway business owner. The restaurateur — who requested anonymity for fear of reprisals — said his profits drained as soon as campers moved in.

“My customers used to take food to eat in the park, but now they can’t,” he lamented.

KC Tebowed, Denver Beats Chiefs 17-10, Tebow Completes Two Passes … Put a Fork in the Eagles, They are Done

The Kansas City Chiefs got TEBOWED … Denver’s new motto is “Just Win Ugly, Baby”.

Question, has a NFL team ever won a game when their starting QB who played the entire game only completed two passes? I am not sure what the answer is, but it happened today. Denver QB Tim Tebow completed 2 of 8 passes for for 69 total yards; however, the Denver Broncos won the game 17-10 (VIDEO). Half of Tebow’s completions went for TD’s. How in the heck does an NFL quarterback only complete 2 passes in a game and in the age of the pass happy league, only throw eight attempts in an entire game. Tebow did not complete a pass in the entire first half of the game.  WOW!

Good grief. Could QB play get any worse or anemic, yet the Broncos ended the day with a win.

That is more than I can say for the “dream team” Philadelphia Eagles. Stick a fork in the Eagles, they are done. Philly managed to blow their 5th fourth quarter lead this year as they lost to the lowly Arizona Cardinals 21 – 17.

Hey Philadelphia, how’s that multi-million dollar contract you gave to Michael Vick looking these days? Ever think last year was just a fluke and Vick is incapable of beating anything but maybe dogs? Today Vick had a QB rating of 32.5 against the Cardinals. So far this year Vick has thrown for 11 TD’s and 9 interceptions. The Eagles find themselves tied for last place with a 3-6 record with remaining games against the Giants, New England, Dallas and the Jets.  Although at this point the Eagles might find difficulty in beating Miami, Seattle or the Red Skins. Face the facts Philly fans, the Eagles are dome and will not be making the playoffs.

Missouri Not Looking Good for Obama, McCaskill or Democrats in 2012 Election

The “Show Me” state of Missouri might just be showing incumbents President Barack Obama and US Senator Claire McCaskill the door in 2012.

They say, as go Missouri, so goes the nation. If true in 2012, President Barack Obama, US Senator Claire McCaskill and the Democrats are in for a tough 2012 election. According to a recent Rasmussen poll, GOP primary candidate Mitt Romney has a 45% to 42% lead in the hypothetical match up against Obama. Barack Obama lost Missouri in 2008 by 1%; however, it appears that he has even less support now.

The news is just as bad for Democrat US Senator Claire McCaskill who is in ahead heat with one GOP contender and trails another. McCaskill won her Senate seat in 2006, 50% to 47%, over incumbent Republican Jim Talent. This was the election year when the Democrats romped to a majority in the US Senate. However, 2012 is a much different political environment. Presently Democrats have the majority; however, they must defend 20 seats and two other Independent seats who caucus with Dems.

Democratic Senator from Missouri Claire McCaskill runs essentially even with two Republican challengers in the first Rasmussen Reports look at her reelection bid in 2012.

President Barack Obama Insults America Again, “We’ve Been a Bit Lazy”

Those were the days …

Remember when former President Ronald Reagan used to uplift us and urged us to be the best we could be? Reagan lead us back from the economic abyss following the Carter years and the misery index of double digit unemployment, inflation and interest rates.  Reagan inspired us with “American exceptionalism”, renewed Patriotism, that vision of the shiny city on the hill and Morning in America.

That was then, this is now. Sadly, we are presented with a current president who sees fit to insult America. For the second time in as many months we are presented with the following.  At the annual Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings in Hawaii Obama stated to the CEO’s,  that United States has gotten “lazy” and that America lost its hunger in promoting itself in a global marketplace. Lazy? So Obama thinks what Europe has done and what socialism and redistribution of wealth represents is not lazy?

For the second time in as many months, President Obama has taken the nation that elected him president to task for its own lackadaisical economic performance on the global stage.

Obama told a group of CEOs today that the United States has gotten “lazy” and that America lost its hunger in promoting itself in a global marketplace.

Saturday Night Live: Even the Devil Offended by the Penn State Child Sex Abuse Scandal in SNL Skit

The Penn State child sex scandal, it’s pretty bad when even the Devil is taken aback and offended … Evil just ain’t what it used to be.

Saturday Night Live probably did one of their best skits in years and there was nothing political about it. It is a must see VIDEO because it brings light on a hideous scandal and shows the absurdity of how Penn State as an institution so badly handled it. The SNL skit targeted the Penn State child sex scandal in showing that even the Devil was offended by what had transpired in not so Happy Valley.

“SNL” cast member Jason Sudeikis reprised his role as Satan, appearing with red horns and pitchfork. The devil was informed by “Weekend Update” host Seth Meyers of sex charges against a former defensive coordinator and allegations that university officials failed to report the abuse.

Even he was disturbed by the news. Addressing Penn State students who protested football coach Joe Paterno’s firing, the devil spoke directly into the camera, asking, “Do you know how bad that made you look?”

As an upset and disturbed Satan stated when he found out the the scandal at Penn State was a child abuse sex scandal and not selling tickets for money, “I am the Price of Darkness, not a monster”. Doesn’t that pretty much say it all. This SNL is a classic, not because the content is humorous at it’s core, it is just the opposite, the child sex scandal cover up makes any one with a soul sick. Hell, even Satan was appalled and there lies the visceral disgust in this entire matter. As the Devil said, “this is Penn State football, not the Catholic church”. However, these days one has to wonder because they handed the matter of sexually abusing little boys in the same way. Sorry, but facts are the fact.  Through hyperbole SNL showed just how bad this scandal is and was at Penn State … When the Devil is offended, Houston Penn State,  YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!

UPDATE I: The NY Times has their own version of the Devil and Joe Paterno. The interesting point from this article is that Joe Pa might have believed more in the institution than individuals “inappropriate behavior”. And there lies the problem. Protecting the band, rather than protecting children.

They believed in their church. They believed in their mission. And out of the temptation that comes only to the virtuous, they somehow persuaded themselves that protecting their institution’s various good works mattered more than justice for the children they were supposed to shepherd and protect.

I suspect a similar instinct prompted the higher-ups at Penn State to basically ignore what they described as Jerry Sandusky’s “inappropriate conduct,” and persuaded Paterno that by punting the allegation to his superiors he had fulfilled his responsibility to the victimized child. He had so many important duties, after all, and so many people counting on him. And Sandusky had done so much good over the years …

Michelle Obama to serve as Grand Marshal NASCAR Ford 400 in Swing State of Florida

Good grief, first lady Michelle Obama to serve as Grand Marshall of the NASCAR season ending Ford 400 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida.Talk about your photo-ops and pander for votes. Give it up Michelle, NASCAR is not voting for your Obama in 2012.

The NASCAR appearance is billed as part of the first lady’s “Joining Forces” initiative for military families, and Mrs. Obama’s Joining Forces co-chair, “Second Lady” Dr. Jill Biden, will also serve as Grand Marshal.

The Ford 400 is held at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. Florida is perhaps the most critical presidential battleground state in the country.

But Mrs. Obama’s presence at one of the biggest NASCAR events of the year will surely be noticed throughout the region where the sport if popular, which includes many other critical swing states like Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Missouri and Missouri.

Indeed, the “NASCAR vote” has taken a place alongside “soccer moms” as a coveted demographic for presidential candidates.

As Weasel Zippers says, who knew that Michelle would be pandering the NASCAR vote, who as Barack Obama stated were, “bitter,” distrustful have-nots who “cling to guns or religion.” Why am I thinking there will be some booing going on at the start of the race?

Success with Honor Needs a Fresh Start … An Open Letter to Penn State University President Rodney Erickson in Wake of Child Sex Scandal

“Success with Honor” needs to be a reality at Penn State with the coaches and administrators, not just a catch phrase for the students to live by.

In the wake of the hideous child sex scandal, Penn State’s “Success with Honor” might be in need of a fresh clean slate. There is going to be a complete image change required at State College in Happy Valley, where the words of integrity, commitment and loyalty have to be reevaluated. Especially that loyalty one, that appears to be at the heart of the issue of the cover up of the alleged child sex crimes of former defensive PSU coach Jerry Sandusky.

It would appear that a new image is required at Penn State, read the following open letter to interim Penn State President Rodney Erickson. First, get a PR firm.

Once retained, have the agency facilitate meetings through their agents with Bill Parcells and Bill Cowher immediately.  Specify no leaks to the press until after they occur and by mutual agreement.   Cowher may be the low hanging fruit on this one,  he is returning to CBS next year.

If neither is interested in a head coach commitment of an 8-1 Big Ten team, follow their recommendations about who to contact next and ask them; beg if necessary, if they would be willing to consider a consulting gig for the recruitment process.  Urban Myer is a fine coach and leader, but regardless of who PSU ultimately chooses, efforts to rebuild the PSU brand must start with a nationally recognizable face of a trusted and respected winner, like yesterday.

Champions attract champions and without that, it is like asking collegiate coaching candidates to walk into the lion’s den (pun intended) wearing a raw steak necklace.  You will not even get one to tour Lasche, trust me on this.

This strategy would likely also include a public facing spokesperson effort, and worth every penny if that is all you can get a commitment for from either coach.

Pay them to sit in the lobby.  Pay them to ride the elevator a few times, but get them on grounds.  Pay them to have a motivational meeting with the team.

Americans Polled Prefer Israel PM Netanyahu to President Barack Obama

Even Israel PM Netanyahu would beat Obama in 2012 …

Americans polled prefer Israel Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over President Barack Obama. I think the real news here is that 51.5% actually rated Obama positively. That is a far cry from his present job approval numbers.

“A poll conducted by the group Greenberg Quinlan Rosner found that 52.3 percent of Americans rate Netanyahu positively, compared to 51.5 percent for Obama,” reports Israel Today Magazine. “The results of the poll were enthusiastically discussed on Israel’s Channel 10 News on Thursday.”

The Washington Examiner called the polling firm to confirm and request the full data, including margin of error, but hasn’t heard back yet. The poll reportedly asked questions of 800 U.S. citizens.

Of course Barack Obama showed his true feelings of Israel when he was overheard on a hot mike at the G-20 meetings with French President Nicolas Sarkozy complaining about Israeli Prime Minister Banjamin Netanyahu.

“Obama began by reproaching Sarkozy for not warning him in advance that France would vote in favour of Palestinian membership of  UNESCO,” the website reported. “The conversation turned to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, with Sarkozy saying ,’I don’t want to see him anymore, he’s a liar.’

“To which President Obama replied: ‘You’ve had enough of him, but I have to deal with him every day!’ Obama then asked Sarkozy to try  to convince the Palestinians to slow down with their UN membership drive.”

Barack Obama’s Approval Rating on Handing the Economy Hits Record Low of 34% … 60% Disapprove

It’s the economy stupid …

President Barack Obama continues to slide in the polls of the most important issue of the 2012 election, the economy. According to a recent CBS poll, only 34% approve of Obama’s handling of the economy, while 60% disapprove. OUCH! This is a record low for Obama. Or a record high of those who disapprove depending on how one looks at it. How does any president win reelection when 6 in 10 Americans disapprove of how a president handles he economy? Overall, Obama’s approval rating was at 43% with 47% disapproval. Among the all important independent vote, only 39% are satisfied with Obama’s job as President.

President Obama’s ratings on the the most important issue for his re-election — the economy — have posted the weakest showing of his presidency, according to a poll released Friday by CBS News.

About 60 percent of voters said they disapprove of Mr. Obama’s handling of the economy, the highest on record. Just 34 percent approve of the job he is doing on the matter.

His overall approval ratings are just 43 percent, while 47 percent disapprove of the job he is doing as president.

Just recently, the Obama administration postponed the decision on the Keystone XL pipeline until after the 2012 election that could have created 20,000 jobs. However, the president who claimed he was all about job creation chose partisan politics over the US economy and jobs.

Sorry, but there is no way if 60% of Americans disapprove of how Obama is handling the economy he can win reelection. Hmm, wonder why he has embraced the class warfare Occupy protesters?
