NH’s Union County Leader Newspaper Disses Romney … Endorses Newt Gingrich for President

Newt Gingrich get endorsement from the Union Leader.

Mitt Romney, the former Governor of Massachusetts, has an overwhelming 41% to 14% lead over GOP Presidential hopeful Gingrich in the polls leading up to the New Hampshire primaries. New Hampshire’s popular and influential newspaper, the Union Leader, has endorsed Newt Gingrich for President. Whether such endorsements have as much political influence as they used to is yet to be seen. However, what cannot be denied is the continued momentum of the former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich.

The Union Leader

This newspaper endorses Newt Gingrich in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary.

America is at a crucial crossroads. It is not going to be enough to merely replace Barack Obama next year. We are in critical need of the innovative, forward-looking strategy and positive leadership that Gingrich has shown he is capable of providing.

He did so with the Contract with America. He did it in bringing in the first Republican House in 40 years and by forging balanced budgets and even a surplus despite the political challenge of dealing with a Democratic President. A lot of candidates say they’re going to improve Washington. Newt Gingrich has actually done that, and in this race he offers the best shot of doing it again.

Newt Gingrich is by no means the perfect candidate. But Republican primary voters too often make the mistake of preferring an unattainable ideal to the best candidate who is actually running. In this incredibly important election, that candidate is Newt Gingrich. He has the experience, the leadership qualities and the vision to lead this country in these trying times. He is worthy of your support on January 10.

It is hard to imagine that Gingrich could defeat Romney in the Granite state as Romney still has political endorsements from NH politicians including former Gov. John Sununu, former US Sen. Judd Gregg, and US Sen. Kelly Ayotte. However, a strong second place showing for Gingrich could go a long way.

I say ABSOLUTELY NOT to Newt Gingrich.

Not even certain about Mitt Romney anymore. I believe him to be capable and competent, but is he is the best qualified individual for the job? He was effective as a Politician in Massachusetts, but also he was instrumental in changing “Mandatory Healthcare” for the State which has proven to be a FAILURE.

The good news today for America is, Barney Frank, a native of Newton, MA is quitting!

It’s about time. He is a criminal, at a minimum and a huge, huge Liar. Buh-Bye, Bawney.

The problem is, after 30 long years, the damage has already been done Nationwide!

Good riddance to bad rubbish in the House. Now if only it could be cleaned out further.

It is my considered opinion that Newt Gingrich is the person best qualified to be President of the US. I know, I know. He has some baggage in the romance department but that seems to be the norm these days. It’s true he resigned his post as House Speaker, but when one knows the whole story, it’s clear that he did nothing wrong but was another victim of a smear campaign by the left. You know, the ones who lie about the Tea Party and vainly try to besmirch its values. From now on, my motto is ABO–Anyone but Obama. I believe that Mr. Obama is an usurper, a foreign-born Muslim. His “Election” was the greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people, IMO. I hope we can get it right this time.

      #2-Babybear—I am liking that:

ABO ! I agree. Still not sure about Newt though, and I say that based upon his record in Politics. To be completely fair, I don’t think that a Candidate’s baggage in the “romance department” is anything important (but rather more fodder for the tabloids). How does that have anything to do with a Politician’s ability to run our Country, really? Except, of course, in the case of when campaigning (think John Edwards) certain things would perhaps be frowned upon by the Public…..??

I am concerned about why Gingrich would have resigned his post as House Speaker though. If I were to chose between him and Romney, I would go with Romney.

Anyway- ABO is working for me….Right On!

Hopefully, the rest of America has agreed that “The One” is ONE TERM and done. Thank God!
