As reported by Reuters, the deposed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi (Kaddafi) has been captured near his home town of  Sirte. The mad dog of Lybia has been captured. Didn’t Muammar say he would not go down without a fight? It is being reported that Gaddafi was shot in both legs and conflicting stories that his injuries may be fatal.

(Reuters) - Deposed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was captured and wounded near his hometown of Sirte at dawn on Thursday as he tried to flee in a convoy which NATO warplanes attacked, National Transitional Council official Abdel Majid said on Thursday.

UPDATE I: From the BBC, Anti-Gaddafi forces take Sirte …and capture Gaddafi.

Libya’s transitional government forces have taken full control of Sirte, the last city where Gaddafi loyalists had remained holed up, fighters and reporters say.

Soldiers hoisted the new NTC national flag on buildings in the centre of Col Muammar Gaddafi’s hometown.

Unconfirmed reports quote officials as saying Col Gaddafi was captured there.

UPDATE II: Reuters now reporting that Gaddafi was KILLED!!! According to Reuters, Gaddahi has died from wounds sustained in his capture earlier today. According to many reports HERE and HERE, Muammar Gaddafi won’t be down for breakfast. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

May the death of this despot bring some comfort to those who lost innocent loved ones on Pan Am Flight 103.

@ #1- Hi, Sue—while I completely understand your skepticism regarding whether Bin Laden is alive—let me assure you; he was in fact buried at Sea.

Long story short–a Neighbors Son is currently enlisted in Navy Seal group and trained and knows of one of the Seals who participated and worked in the Top Secret on going surveillance, raid and capture of Bin Laden. Point being- he’s dead and it was legit.

I have to admit I chuckled at your post thinking I was perhaps the only one who actually was glad to see with my own eyes (albeit a grainy Video captured from a witnesses Cell Phone) Hussein dangling from the end of that rope.

This Administration, and many before it- both DEM or REP have long been known to “lie” to the American Public and not release what they consider to be “Top Secret” info. Again, and in fairness-we can easily point to both REP or DEM Administrations who have been guilty of this. (Think Nixon, JFK, etc. etc). This is par for the course in American Politics.

Guess all I wanted to convey to you, is Fear Not! Dearest Sue- Bin Laden is DEAD. I fully believe though that Obama should not be given all the Credit for it.

That whole Operation was given top priority beginning on 9/12 when Dubya was still in office.

Many overlook what GWB did for this Country in all the harrowing days, post 9/11. I, for one, do not.

Obama has a huge problem with his lack of experience in dealing with Terrorists and Foriegn Affairs in general- but right now—we have bigger fish to fry.

The American Public must NOT be fooled again. No more ACORN scandals and a candidate who literally “buys” their way in to office.

Amongst the candidates currently running for office- America’s next important task is to elect the most qualified individual possible to be our next President.

Obama should not be re-elected at any cost!

    6. NGBoston on October 20th, 2011 7:43 am

P.S. And, to get back on topic- if Kaddafi is, in fact, captured- I want to see the Death Certificate when he is finally put to death.

The man is not well, mentally- and he is also responsible for the deaths of thousands of his own people!

He needs to go, and I would prefer to not see him languish in any prison for years to come afforded “protection” because of his status.

Screw that! The Trial should take place immediately and be streamlined so as not to waste Taxpayers dollars. He should be given a piece of bread and enough water daily to sustain him, forced to do his business in a bucket, and only let out for one hour of walking with a guard, once per day. Why should any further basic humanity bestowed upon a man who showed no mercy to thousands during his lifetime!

      Hang the B*astard!

      (Pardon the graphic post!)

Dolf, I don’t see where #1 mentioned Obama’s name. I DO find it interesting when she mentioned the administration was lying and corrupt that your mind went straight to Obama though!

    13. NGBoston on October 20th, 2011 4:01 pm

Oh, Goodie—I saw the still photo just now on ABC News. He looks pretty dead to me!

LOCKERBIE 103, remember? Not to mention again the THOUSANDS of Libyans killed at his own hand under his over 40 years of tyranny.

Good does always win over evil, remember that!

Bye Bye you stinking POS- we know this is one immortal who shall not be crossing over to the other side!

    14. rightknight on October 20th, 2011 4:43 pm

So, things are going to be ice cream and cake now
that Gaddafi is room temperature? Enter the ever
present Muslim Brotherhood bent on unifying the
entire Middle East under a Caliphate (Sharia Law).
Also, these Brotherhood guys are not nice people
after all! I’m putting it mildly!

    15. hope on October 20th, 2011 6:28 pm

Right to rule with an iron fist?

Muslim or not, people deserve the right to choose… and now that they have exercised their freedom of speach, let them choose their words carefully.

      Amen…

Moi;”this is a lying administration and so corrupt that i don’t believe anything that they say happens in the middle east or anything.”

Its Obama’s administration is it not?

    17. NGBoston on October 21st, 2011 5:54 am

#16- Dolf- you ARE CORRECT and quick to point out that Obammy’s Administration is full of lies.

Again, and to be fair- it would not be inaccurate to state that many Administrations- both DEM and REP have been full of lies. American Politics is truthfully not too much different than Politics elsewhere on Earth—there is always an underside.

Still, I would rather live here than anywhere else where Commies, corruption and Extreme Tyranny abides. Suffice to say, I would not last a day in the Middle East or India as a female. They would have stoned or burnt me to death years ago!

I believe that Kadaffi is dead. It might not be a good thing for the West. I fear that what replaces him will be much worse–terrorist Muslims who are bent on taking over the world and establishing a world-wide Caliphate. There were stockpiles of weapons, as I understand it, rockets, guns, weapons of all sorts now in their hands. Hillary Clinton has gone to Tripoli to offer Libya an aid package from the US–taxpayers of the US supporting another Islamic Republic which does not wish us well. This whole thing started when Jimmy Carter was president and double-crossed the Shah of Iran, thus facilitating an Iranian Islamist Ayatollah to take over. It is the same story all over again. Egypt, soon Yemen, Qatar and now Libya. Will Saudi Arabia be next? We have learned nothing about the nature of Islam and we are hurtling toward our own doom and smiling as we go. It’s true that Kadaffi was a cruel dictator toward his own people. Was that any of our business? Shouldn’t we take care of our own country first and not waste our precious resources on overseas adventures? I believe we should. I believe our National Guard should be here guarding our nation and not in Iraq and Afghanistan where they will revert to their seventh century ways as soon as we leave–all of those young American heroes sacrificed for nothing. I am not a pacifist. I believe in protecting our own country.

    20. Dolf on October 21st, 2011 10:39 am

      @17…not what I ment…but nice 1.

and you are right about the Middle East (India depends on your birth).

I think a man and a woman are equal, so exit Islam and exit Christianity.

How long was it ago that women were not even allowed to vote here?
      100 years orso?

    21. yoyo muffintop on October 21st, 2011 1:57 pm

“It’s true that Kadaffi was a cruel dictator toward his own people. Was that any of our business?”

#19 – you understand what Pan Am Flight 103 was, correct? You do understand that Gaddafi ordered that plane bombed, correct? You do understand that 189 Americans were on that plane, correct?

THANK YOU President Obama for keeping America safe. Bin Laden, Gaddafi, al-Zawahiri, etc….

    22. yoyo muffintop on October 21st, 2011 2:03 pm

#5 – the policies of George W. Bush were responsible for catching bin Laden? That’s delusional and completely void of any type of fact.

“I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.”
      G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

      No doubt about it!

This is a video that I watch when I reflect pn the problems in the world because someday we need to move forward and while I want the best for mankind, I am left in a state of humility knowing that we can’t change a world that doesn’t even have the wisdom to direct its own steps. I’m not fond of the ending but I suppose the earth can only stand so much neglect before it gives out.

      Bless~

      My beef?

    26. Babybear on October 22nd, 2011 1:28 pm

Yoyo–Not only have I heard of PanAmerican Flight 103, I have been to the memorial at Lockerbee Scotland. In fact, it is right beside a busy motorway. However, I don’t think that killing Kadaffi brought back one member of the crew nor did it bring back one passenger. Revenge might indeed be sweet, but self-preservation is sweeter. Nato, but primarily the US, has paved the way for another Middle Eastern Country to be taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood. They are a larger threat to us than Kadaffi ever was. They are nearer their goal of establishing a world-wide Caliphate. If we don’t wake up to the danger of the Muslim Brotherhood and the nature of Sharia Law, we are lost. We are probably lost anyway.
