NY-9 Special Election: Turner (R) vs. Weprin (D) … Referendum on President Obama’s Economic Policies (UPDATE: Race Called for Turner!!!)

Barack Obama dragging the Democrat party down …

Barack Obama wants Congress to pass his new jobs bill immediately. However, many are tired of the same old failed polices of President Obama. Today’s special election in New York for the District 9 seat formerly led by disgraced Anthony Weiner has become a referendum of President Barck Obama’s failed economic policies.

Democrat David Weprin faced an unusually tight race against Republican Bob Turner in a special election Tuesday in New York’s heavily Democratic 9th Congressional District, where voters unhappy with President Barack Obama could elect a Republican for the first time.

Prior to election day, the GOP candidate had a lead in the polls. New Yorkers might just do the unthinkable. For the first time in history, NY-9 might just go Republican. With early results in, Republican Bob Turner has a lead over Weprin,  8,819 52% – 8,198 48%.

With this special election in NY-09 being a referendum on Obama’s economic polices, why is it that anyone would want to pass more of his failed agenda like his latest $450 billion son of stimulus?

How bad is this special election for Obama and the White House? Even before the polls closed, the WH was spinning a loss in NY-9. There’s a sign of confidence. What will a loss do to how Obama is perceived by other Democrats? Will anyone in a swing state want the President any where near their campaign? With Democrats having to defend US Senate seats in 2012 in Florida, Ohio, Virginia and Pennsylvania, let alone GOP and trending GOP states like Missouri and Nebraska … will they want Obama to make any campaign visits and drag them down as well?

The White House is girding for a political loss in the heart of New York on Tuesday. They’re also spinning up an explanation that won’t entirely result in the blame landing on the low popularity of the president. As in Massachusetts, where Democratic Senate candidate Martha Coakley was faulted by the White House and many others for tone-deaf campaigning, Democratic candidate Dave Weprin may see the undercarriage of that new White House campaign bus.

UPDATE I (11:28 pm): Total Precincts reporting 215/512: Democrat Weprin 13,667 (49%) – Republican Turner  14,324 (51%) … numerous flash updates at the Lonely Conservative. Come on LC … your NYC brethren, Queens & Brooklynites, need to come through in a big way tonight.

UPDATE II (12:05 am):WOW, Race called for Republican … Turner Wins.

(GOP) Bob Turner: 25,263 – 53%
(GOP)  David Weprin 22,703 – 47%

The GOP has done it again, its the Scott Brown moment of 2011. Republican Bob Turner has defeated Democrat David Weprin and taken the seat away from the Democrats. How bad have things gotten for Obama that he could be responsible for the loss of a NYC seat. Really? In deep blue NY, the GOP was the favorite and won.

Republicans have scored an upset victory in a House race that became a referendum on President Barack Obama’s economic policies.

With about 70 percent of precincts reporting late Tuesday, Turner had 53 percent of the vote to Weprin’s 47 percent.

UPDATE III: Looks like the final vote is Turner 54% – Weprin 46% … an even larger victory than polls had stated. Before we  get any nonsense spin from the WH or DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, this seat has not been held by a Republican since 1922. This is a total rebuke of Barack Obama on the economy and his Middle East policy.

ZERO BOUNCE FROM PRESIDENT ZERO: Barack Obama Flops With American Public Following Jobs Speech … No Polling Bounce

SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE …  NO BOUNCE for Obama after jobs speech in front of joint session of Congress. Or as we like to say, ZERO BOUNCE FOR PRESIDENT ZERO.

If you thought that President Barack Obama’s job speech sounded like more of the same of the failed Obama agenda on the economy, you were not alone. Many Americans thought the same and thus the reason why Obama received “ZERO” bounce from his much ballyhooed jobs speech. Needless to say, Obama’s jobs speech was underwhelming.

President Barack Obama didn’t score any political points with his speech on jobs to a joint session of Congress last Thursday. According to a new CNN/ORC International poll released Tuesday, the president’s approval rating stands at 43 percent, virtually unchanged from the 45 percent approval rating in the previous CNN poll.

Although this is not the lowest number of those who say they approve of how Obama is handling his job-he reached 42 percent one year ago-the number who disapprove of the president reached its highest during his presidency in the poll.

Less than one in ten think Obama’s policies have made the economy better, although another four in ten credit them with preventing the economy from being even worse than it is today. Thirty-seven percent say that Obama has made economic conditions worse and 15 percent think his policies have had no effect.

So what does President Zero do after receiving no bounce from his speech that looks to add another $450 billion to our national debt? Go on the road and sell the snake oil to the American public. Oh that’s right, its all paid for. Sure it is. The American public has lost all confidence in Obama on handling the economy and frankly, trying to sell this jobs plan, son of stimulus, as being needed to be passed immediately makes all Americans ask … if this is the answer to America’s ills, why didn;t Obama come up with it sooner?

The president is on the road this week touting a new policy–his $447 billion jobs proposal-that he’s encouraged Congress to take up and pass. With stops in Richmond, Virginia last week, Columbus, Ohio Tuesday, and North Carolina on Wednesday, the road trip appears to be doubling as a swing through battleground states.

But with more than half the nation saying Obama cannot manage the government effectively in the poll and no bounce in public opinion following his speech, the president may have his work cut out for him selling his plan to the public.

It is too little too late for Obama … he will be judged in the 2012 elections based on the his efforts with the economy and frankly America believes he has failed miserably.

DNC Chair and US Rep. Wasserman Schultz Says “It’s Baloney to Say the Stimulus Didn’t Work”

What planet does DNC Chair and US Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (NY-D) live on?

Yesterday DNC Chair Wasserman Schultz spewed the Obama, Democrat party mantra that the initial $787 billion stimulus package worked. Really Debbie, who is full of baloney? I guess Democrats believe their policies work when they add nearly a trillion dollars to the US national debt and average hundred’s of thousands of dollars for $40K a year jobs. I guess Debbie thinks that millions sent to bankrupt Solyndra was a success as well.

The stimulus worked so well that the Obama White House managed to triple the US deficit Obama’s first year in office… And, his second year in office… And, his third year in office.

The stimulus worked so well that Obama is considered 5 X’s worse on the economy than former president Jimmy Carter. Care to try again Debbie? Americans are dot going to tolerate lies from Obama’s minions and will take their wrath out in the 2012 elections.

Romney the Only Electable Candidate … CNN Poll Has Rick Perry in the Lead When it comes to Electability

For all those folks that said that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was the only GOP candidate that was electable …. NOT SO FAST!

A recent CNN poll has Texas Gov. Rick Perry at the top of the list of Republican candidates that can beat President Barack Obama in 2012. Perry has a double digit lead over Romney. It would appear that Perry’s numbers are holding from the point when he entered the race. Several pundits said that he would have an initial surge and then come back to the pack. That has not happened. Perry’s camapign has legs and the polling data supports it.

Full poll results.

And according to a CNN/ORC International Poll, what appears to be Perry’s greatest strength – the perception among Republicans that he is the candidate with the best chance to beat President Barack Obama in 2012 – seems to be exactly what the GOP rank and file are looking for.

The survey, released Monday morning, indicates that 30 percent of Republicans and independents who lean toward the GOP support Perry for their party’s nomination, with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at 18 percent. Romney, who’s making his second bid for the White House, had been leading the list of Republican candidates in the national polls, but since Perry launched his campaign a month ago he’s jumped ahead of Romney to capture the top spot.

PPP Poll Confirms that Republican Bob Turner Headed for Uspet Win Over Democrat David Weprin in NY-9 for Weiner’s Old Seat

GOP POISED FOR UPSET IN NY-9 …

Another day and another poll has been released that shows that Republican Bob Turner is headed for a huge and embarrassing upset over Democrat David Weprin in the Congressional NY-9 special election. This election is to replace the disgraced Anthony Weiner who left  office in shame. According to a recent Public Policy Polling (PPP) poll, Republican Turner leads Democrat Weprin by 6 points, 47% to 41%, just days ahead of the special election.

Republican Bob Turner is poised to pull a huge upset in the race to replace Anthony Weiner as the Congressman from New York’s 9th Congressional District.  He leads Democrat David Weprin 47-41 with Socialist Workers candidate Christopher Hoeppner at 4% and 7% of voters remaining undecided.

Turner’s winning in a heavily Democratic district for two reasons: a huge lead with independents and a large amount of crossover support.  He’s ahead by 32 points at 58-26 with voters unaffiliated with either major party.  And he’s winning 29% of the Democratic vote, holding Weprin under 60% with voters of his own party, while losing just 10% of Republican partisans.

So why is a Democrat losing in such a heavily Democrat district? Can you say President Barack Obama. The one time so-called Savior of the Democrat party has now become its albatross and anchor, bringing the party down. As stated at Big Government, President Barack Obama is dragging Weprin down and his treatment of Israel is a deciding factor. In a district that Obama won in 2008 and now only has a mere 31% approval rating, with 56% of voters disapproving of him. Obama only has a 16% approval rating with Independents.

Just last week there was a Siena Research Institute survey also showed that Turner was up by 6 points.

What a message this shall send to Obama and Democrats across the nation heading into the 2012 elections. If a Democrat can lose in a deep blue district like NY-09, they can lose anywhere.

Do Not Ever Forget … Radical Muslims Chant “US Is a Terrorist State” and Burn US Flag at 9-11 Rally in London

As we always say, ‘DON’T EVER FORGET” …

Radical Muslims at a 9-11 rally in London, England chant the “US is a terrorist state” and then burned an American flag out side of the US Embassy. Actually they had a lot more to say that all should listen to. Nice, because Islam is a religion of peace.

A number of radical Islamic groups including Muslims Against Crusades (MAC) gathered outside the embassy on the 10th anniversary of the attacks.

The group of around 100 men shouted “USA terrorists”, brandished anti-American placards and chanted through a loudhailer.

One said: “You will always face suffering, you will always face humiliation, unless you withdraw your troops from Muslim lands.”

Another declared that America had been “defeated in Iraq and defeated in Afghanistan”.

Many more pics at HERE and Doug Ross opines, where is the coverage of these hateful events by the liberal MSM? Good questions. The Blogprof reminds us of who was celebrating 10 years ago when the Twin Towers fell. Why that would be the Palestinians, the same folks that Obama is siding with over Israel.  As we always say, DON’T EVER FORGET!

Ten Years Ago Today … September 11, 2001: Fox News Flashback: 9/11 as it Happened On-Air

Do you remember where you were 10 years ago today? The following VIDEO is a FOX News flashback of what was broadcast on-air during that fateful September morning.  It really is amazing to see what was broadcast live and some of the conclusions that were immediately come up with. Ten years later in a PC world we cannot make the assumption that an act of terrorism was not a result of radical Muslims even when we know its the case.

Hat Tip: The Blaze

President George W. Bush addresses the nation following the henious acts of terrorism against the United States.

“Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot shake the foundation of America.  These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.”

“Today our Nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature, And we responded with the best of America.”
