TSA Says they Will Keep Feeling Up Passengers, Uses Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution as Excuse

More poor PR from the TSA …

The TSA says that it will continue to fondle and inappropriately touch in what ever way they deem necessary in Texas. This after the Texas State House passes a bill last week that would make it a criminal offense for public servants to inappropriately touch travelers during airport security pat-downs. However, the TSA is saying that Texas has no right to pass a law that tells the federal government what to do and is citing the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution.

What’s our take on the Texas House of Representatives voting to ban the current TSA pat-down? Well, the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution (Article. VI. Clause 2) prevents states from regulating the federal government.

We wish we lived in a world where you could just walk on a plane with no security screening, but that just isn’t the case unfortunately.  Aviation security agencies worldwide have been using pat-downs long before TSA was created to prevent dangerous items from getting onto airplanes. The pat-down is a highly effective tool to resolve certain alarms and keep these dangerous items off of planes that could cause catastrophic damage.

They are actually worng on two accounts. One,  how many terrorist have TSA agents nabbed while frisking them during the pat downs? The answer would be none.

Two, as stated by the PJ Tatler, The supremacy clause says nothing of the sort. Here’s the full text:

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding.

How soon will it be before TSA agents are being arrested by Texas State police? Hey TSA, are you feeling lucky?

Mike Huckabee Says No to a 2012 Republican White House Run

Mike Huckabee announced last night during his show on Fox News that he will not seek the Presidential GOP nomination for the 2012. Huckabee had been previously polling well in the early going in hypothetical match ups; however, stated  “All the factors say go, but my heart says no.”

“The past few months have been times of deep personal reflection,” Huckabee said. “Even though I wasn’t actively establishing a campaign organization or seeking financial support to run again, polls have consistently put me at or near the top to be the Republican nominee.”

“But I know that under the best of circumstances, being President is a job that takes one to the limit of his or her human capacity,” he continued. “I can’t know or predict the future, but I know for now my answer is clear and firm:  I will not seek the Republican nomination for President this year.”

Erick Erickson of Red State has the down low as to who this announcement will hurt and who it will help for GOP contenders. Although some on the RIGHT feel we have dodged another bullet having a RINO out of the GOP race.Personally, I believe the Huck is having too much of a good time in private life and most likely will never seek public office again.

IMF Chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn Arrested at JFK Airport … Accused of Sexual Assault

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the 62 year old head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was arrested last night at JFK International Airport  just as his Air France plane was about to depart to Paris. Kahn was arrested for allegedly sexually attacking a 32 year old maid in a mid-town Manhattan, NYC hotel.  He was charged of criminal sexual act, attempted rape, and an unlawful imprisonment in connection with a sexual assault. According to his attorney Benjamin Brafman, his client “will plead not guilty.”

Mr. Strauss-Kahn, 62, who was widely expected to become the Socialist candidate for the French presidency, was apprehended by detectives of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in the first-class section of the jetliner, and immediately turned over to detectives from the Midtown South Precinct, officials said.

The New York Police Department arrested Mr. Strauss-Kahn at 2:15 a.m. Sunday “on charges of criminal sexual act, attempted rape, and an unlawful imprisonment in connection with a sexual assault on a 32-year-old chambermaid in the luxury suite of a Midtown Manhattan hotel yesterday” about 1 p.m., Deputy Commissioner Paul J. Browne, the department’s chief spokesman, said.

Here are a couple more tidbits regarding the incident, as reported at the Bangor Daily News, it would appear that Kahn left his hotel in a rush.  However, this is not the first time that Kahn has been in trouble. He was  investigated in 2008 over an improper relationship with a subordinate female employee where the IMF board found his actions “regrettable” and said they “reflected a serious error of judgment.”

When New York City police detectives arrived moments later, Strauss-Kahn had already left the hotel, leaving behind his cellphone, Browne said. “It looked like he got out of there in a hurry,” Browne said.

The NYPD discovered that he was at the airport and contacted Port Authority officials, who plucked Strauss-Kahn from first class on the Air France flight that was scheduled to depart at 4:40 p.m. and was just about to leave the gate.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn was widely thought to become the Socialist candidate for the French presidency. How will this reported sexual assault accusation affect that political run?

Gallup Poll: Barack Obama back Under 50% Job Approval Rating … Suddenly Obama for Oil Drilling, “Drill, Baby, Drill”

That didn’t take long … President Barack Obama’s job approval rating back under 50%.

According to the most recent Gallup poll, Barack Obama has a job approval rating of 48%, while 45% disapprove. The bounce appears to be over and it back to reality. The US economy is headed the wrong direction, unemployment is at 9.0% and gas prices rising. Rasmussen has Obama at a 48% job approval and 51% disapproval.

It should be no surprise that suddenly Obama has made another flip-flop and is for oil drilling. Wow, how long will it take before he takes credit for “Drill, Baby, Drill” ? Next thing we know, toy companies will be making roughneck Obama, the oil drilling dude. Hmm, I thought there was no silver bullet Barack? There are two real questions, one, will Obama actually drill and two, will he give the credit to Sarah Palin?

Reporting from Washington— President Obama will open Alaska’s national petroleum reserve to new drilling, as part of a broad plan aimed at blunting criticism that he is not doing enough to address rising energy prices.

The plan, unveiled in Obama’s weekly radio address Saturday, also would fast-track environmental assessment of petroleum exploration in some portions of the Atlantic and extend the leases of oil companies whose work in the Gulf of Mexico and the Arctic Ocean was interrupted by the drilling moratorium after last year’s BP oil spill.

Wasn’t it just last year that Obama said that we cannot drill our way out of the problem and that is why you never heard him say, “drill, baby, drill”.

“You never heard me say, ‘”drill, baby drill… We can’t drill our way out of the problem

Obviously his poll numbers are threatened by the high gas prices and the reactionary, flip-flopping president now must she he is the “Oil Drilling” president. Now he unveils an oil drilling plan, what about that green energy Barack? This President could care less about new drilling, he cares about his poll numbers and reelection. Why did he wait this long to present such an energy plan? Barack Obama stood in the way of oil exploration and actually harmed it. Now, he says drill. Plueze!

UNREAL, The Walt Disney Company Wants to Profit from the Bravery of US Navy Seals who Killed Bin Laden by Trademarking “Seal Team 6”

Walt Disney should be rolling over in his grave … and be ashamed of what his company has become.

It would appear that it is not just President Barack Obama who wants to “spike the football” of the heroics of the US Navy Seal Team 6, but now the Walt Disney Company wants to profit from the actions of these heroes and trademark “Seal Team 6″.  WTF!!! How does some one get to trademark a name that is part of a US Government military name? Seriously, how is not a government entity part of the public domain?

The trademark applications came on May 3rd, two days after the operation that killed Bin Laden… and two days after “Seal Team 6?  was included in thousands of news articles and TV programs focusing on the operation.

Disney’s trademark applications for “Seal Team 6? cover clothing, footwear, headwear, toys, games and “entertainment and education services,” among other things.

Day 6: Casey Anthony Jury Selection Murder Trial in the Death of Caylee Anthony … Juror #1394 Says “I would see that as a guilt by omission if you will”

DAY 6: Casey Anthony was just slapped with a dose of reality that should have made her cry, it did not …

And it is my conviction that any failure to participate or be engaged entirely in that process would probably overshadow my ability to be objective about actual commission of a crime.  I would see that as a guilt by omission if you will.

BOMBSHELL, ITS TIME FOR THE DEFENSE TO WORRY … Casey Anthony, attorney Jose Baez and the rest of the Team Casey defense team just got a cold hard reality check this morning by a prospective juror #1394 during the Q & A.What appeared to be an average, every day, American mom … the 2011′s version of Marian Cunningham said a mouthful that should cause pause and shock to tot mom Casey Anthony and her defense team. The potential juror does not watch Nancy Grace, nor Geraldo Rivera nor  really did not watch much of the story of the disappearance and death of Caylee and the accusations of murder against Casey Anthony. However, that did not stop her from saying the powerful message below that the State prosecution better be writing down as part of their opening statement.

Out of the mouth of this average American asked to do jury duty came the voice of reason of what most ever mom, dad, brother, sister and grandparent thinks in the back of their mind and knows to be true. Sorry Casey and Jose, no amount of legal BS, smoke and mirrors will be able to wash away the following … “And it is my conviction that any failure to participate or be engaged entirely in that process would probably overshadow my ability to be objective about actual commission of a crime.” Team Casey’s job just became almost impossible as this juror who would later be excused for cause, let the cat out of the bag and put a monkey wrench in the defense’s entire argument. This is what rational people think, no parent would obstruct or interfere in the investigation of their missing daughter. NO WAY JOSE … YOU ARE SUNK!

MUST SEE VIDEO  OF POTENTIAL JUROR QUESTION

Transcript Scared Monkeys Forum, Hat Tip: texasmom:

Judge Perry: Do you recall any thing about those conversation that you night have over heard?

Female Potential Juror: Just that the general consensus was, that um, she,  that the defendant was some how responsible for the child’s death.

Judge Perry: As a result of what you have gleamed from the news media and any conversation that you have heard from this case, have you  formed any opinions or impressions about the defend’s guilt or innocence?

Female Potential Juror: Yes sir, but may I ask a question (judge: yes ma’am). On Monday morning you read a list of allegations (Judge, yes ma’am) And if I understand correctly there was more than one allegation suggestioning that she was uncooperation or unwilling to participate in the investigation.

Judge Perry: The allegation were that she was accused of providing false infoemation to a law enforcement officer.

Female Potential Juror: Pertaining to the investigation of the crime?

Judge Perry: Yes ma’am.

Female Potential Juror:Ok, then yes I do have an opinion.

Judge Perry: And what is that opinion ma’am,  … and just be frank.

Day 6: Pic Hat Tip: Brandi – VIDEO feed screen shot -  did Casey Anthony think that to lose a child is the worst thing that this earth has to serve on anyone or did it just interfere with clubbing?

Female Potential Juror: OK, I will.  I believe that to lose a child is the worst thing that this earth has to serve on anyone.  It changes the way you see the world, it is out of the natural order of things, no matter the circumstance of that loss. My husband and I did lose a son in a car crash.  Being totally involved and cooperative with the investigation that included things like the grisly details of the ME reports, scene reports, everything that went into compiling an accurate homicide report as much as it hurt us, was our parental obligation.  And it is my conviction that any failure to participate or be engaged entirely in that process would probably overshadow my ability to be objective about actual commission of a crime.  I would see that as a guilt by omission if you will.

Judge Perry: Let me ask you this mam, as a result of your personal life experience…

Female Potential Juror: Yes sir

Judge Perry: And as a result of what you’ve just told me, do you think you could be a fair and impartial juror in deciding this case?

Female Potential Juror: After much thought, I do not think that I could be.  I believe that the opinion I just expressed would somehow overshadow my objectivity.

Judge Perry: As I told you before earlier mam one of the things we wanted to do was to have every juror be candid

Female Potential Juror: Yes.

Judge Perry: And to search their conscience, and I commend you for your candor.

GAME, SET, MATCH and CHECKMATE Casey Anthony and Jose Anthony. Sorry, but this is the common thought of every rational adult whether they want to admit it or not. It is what weighs in the back of every one’s mind … how could a mother who lost their child lie and obstruct justice if not to hide from involvement in the crime? No family situation, fabrications of sexual abuse, dysfunctional family, maturity or size of one’s brain answers the question of why waiting a month to state a child is missing and lying to law enforcement regarding you missing daughter.

Hey Baez, ya might want to think about that plea deal.

Democrat Wisconsin Senator Herb Kohl Retires, Will not Run in 2012 … Another Dem. Open Seat to Defend

Democrats chances of maintaining a majority control of the US Senate in 2012 just got a little more difficult.

US Senator Herb Kohl (D-WI) surprised many by his announcement not to run for reelection in 2012 for the US Senate. The 76 year old Kohl is the sixth Democratic aligned Senator to step aside in advance of the 2012 election. Kohl served in the US Senate for 4 terms and first was elected in 1988.  Kohl is one of the US Senate’s wealthiest members. Kohl is the  owner of the NBA Milwaukee Bucks and amassed his fortune from his family owned business, Kohl’s grocery and department stores, which he sold in 1979.

Wisconsin Sen. Herb Kohl announced his retirement Friday, a decision that sets up a competitive open seat contest in a state that has already drawn considerable national attention this year.

“Even though I continue to love this job, I have decided that the time has come to give someone else the opportunity to serve,” Kohl, who is in his fourth term and 76 years old, said in a noon speech in Milwaukee.

Kohl is the sixth Democratic-aligned Senator to step aside in advance of the 2012 election. Two Republicans aren’t running for reelection next year.

Democrats already had an uphill battle to maintain controlling majority in the US Senate in the 2012 election; however, it just became even more difficult with a “safe”  Democrat Senate seat that would have been considered “likely” Democrat to  most certainly a toss up. Senate Democrats have to defend 23 seats, 21 Dems and 2 Indies who caucus with Dems.

More from ABC News,

In the wake of the surprise announcement that Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Wis., will not run for reelection in 2012, Wisconsin lawmaker Paul Ryan, the chairman of the House Budget committee, says he will take some time to decide whether to run for the open seat.

“I was surprised by Senator Kohl’s announcement and want to take some time over the next few days to discuss this news with my family and supporters before making any decision about how I’m best able to serve my employers in the First Congressional District, our state and nation,” Ryan, R-Wis., said in a statement Friday afternoon.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, (VIDEO) there are many lining up for the open seat.

Don’t mess with Texas … Texas House Bans Offensive Security Pat-Downs

Inappropriate pat downs by TSA agents made a criminal offense by the Texas House. What will the TSA do now when they try an inappropriately touch an individual in an airport pat down. This could get interesting. Imagine a TSA agent being arrested  in an airport? One thing is for certain, cell phone cameras and video will be running in all Texas airports for proof. The TSA anti-groping law would mean that not just children cannot be inappropriately touched, but also adults.

This will now be considered a criminal offense

The Texas House passed a bill that would make it a criminal offense for public servants to inappropriately touch travelers during airport security pat-downs.

Approved late Thursday night, the measure makes it illegal for anyone conducting searches to touch “the anus, sexual organ, buttocks, or breast of another person” including through clothing.

It also prohibits searches “that would be offensive to a reasonable person.”

We had stated in the past that the bill was gaining momentum … it has now passed.
