Daily Commentary – Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 – O'Reilly vs. Stewart [1:46m]: DownloadThis is Reassuring, Hillary Clinton Says Obama Thinks 8 Years in Office as President is Enough
For President Barack Obama, Eight is enough …
This just in, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says President Barack Obama told her that 8 years was enough in office. That’s a load off out minds Barack. Actually for many Americans, 4 years of Obama is quite enough as well. Um, just a Constitutional fact for Clinton and Obama, US Presidents are barred from third terms off office so as PJ Media opined … this is a rather bizarre conversation for these two to have. Why would Clinton and Obama even be having such a conversation and thinking about ruling for 20, 30 and 40 years?
Clinton said Tuesday that she and Obama often marvel over foreign despots who want to stay in power for decades.
She told a State Department forum that neither she nor Obama can understand leaders who refuse to transfer power and cling to office for 10, 20, 30 or 40 years.
She says she and the president joke: “Oh, my gosh. Can you imagine?”
NO WE CAN’T IMAGINE, BECAUSE THE FIRST 2 AND 1/2 YEARS OF OBAMA HAS BEEN TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH QUITE FRANKLY.

The End of an Era … Jerry Lewis Retiring from MDA Telethon In September
Labor Day, MDA and Jerry Lewis have become synonymous with each other over the years. Sadly after 45 years, the 85 year old Jerry Lewis is retiring from the Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon. Obviously its time for Jerry to retire but it is just another walk down memory lane of things that end. From 1966 to present, Jerry Lewis has helped bring attention to MDA and millions of dollars in donation. Thank you Jerry Lewis, a job well done.
From 1986 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon with Sammy David Jr.
The 85-year-old comedian and Las Vegas resident issued a statement Monday through the Tucson, Ariz.-based Muscular Dystrophy Association calling it time for a “new telethon era.”
He says he’ll make his final appearance on the six-hour primetime telethon Sept. 4 by performing his song “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
Lewis says he’ll continue as the association’s national chairman, a role he’s held since the early 1950s.
The MDA for decades has shown what makes America great, selfless giving to those less fortunate and helping the kids. God Bless you Jerry Lewis.

RUT-ROH, Arnold Schwarzenegger Admits Fathered Love Child While Married to Maria Shriver
And now you know the rest of the story …
I guess we know know why after so many years that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver decided to split. Schwarzenegger has admitted to fathering a child with a member of his household staff while married to Maria Shriver. Just recently it was reported that Schwarzenegger and Shriver were separating after 25 years. Obviously Schwarzenegger had to make this news public before it leaked through other sources. Imagine that, Schwarzenegger fathered this child prior to his run for Governor of California and before Maria Shriver went on Oprah defending her husband’s
Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has acknowledged that he fathered a child with a member of his household staff, a revelation that apparently prompted wife Maria Shriver to leave the couple’s home before they announced their separation last week.
Schwarzenegger and Shriver jointly announced May 9 that they were splitting up after 25 years of marriage. Yet, Shriver moved out of the family’s Brentwood mansion earlier in the year after Schwarzenegger acknowledged the child is his, The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.
As we eventually lead, there is always a reason why surprise announcements are made. One sure fire way to end your marriage is to having a love child for 10 years and having the Mrs find out about it. Although the Terminator had been rumored to have had many flings, one has to wonder how this type of news will tarnish his image. He can call John Edwards for pointers as to how to destroy one’s life as it appears the Terminator has pulled a John Edwards.
What a shame. I think its save to say … Arnold won’t be back.
UPDATE I: Flashback to the 2003 Oprah, Maybe Maria should have listened to the tabloids.
Speaking out in her first TV interview since her husband announced his candidacy for governor of California, NBC newswoman Maria Shriver told Oprah Winfrey that she shouldn’t pay heed to tabloid rumors and old stories (even those from the Arnold Schwarzenegger’s own mouth) that paint him as a misogynist or a womanizer. ”I know the man I’m married to,” she said on Monday’s ”Oprah,” with her husband by her side. ”I make up my mind on him, based on him. Not based on what people say.”
Shriver bristled at Oprah’s question about whether, as a Kennedy woman, she’d been raised to ignore a husband’s adultery. ”You know that really ticks me off,” she said. ”I am my own woman. I have not been, quote, bred to look the other way.”
UPDATE II: Maria Shriver says, “This Is a Painful & Heartbreaking Time”. I am sure it is sadly enough. Who knew that Arnold would be more of a Kennedy than Maria? Other comments from family members at CNN.
“This is a painful and heartbreaking time,” said Shriver, 55. “As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment.”
Criminals rejoice … ‘America’s Most Wanted’ Canceled … WHAT A SHAME!
What a shame, Fox has canceled the long running crime TV show, ‘AMERICA’S MOST WANTED’. For years every Saturday night John Walsh and the AMW gang have presented and informed America with the stories of crimes and the faces of people that we should be on the look out for. Sources say that AMW will have specials instead of a weekly show. John Walsh, the victim of crime with the loss of his son Adam Walsh, has hosted the show for its entire 23 year run.
Good news for criminals: Fox is cancelling its long-running crime-stopping series America’s Most Wanted.
The series profiling men and women wanted by law enforcement agencies has been on the air since 1988 and consistently wins its time period. A few years ago it announced the capture of its 1,000th criminal.
When it comes down to it, it’s all about money. It is hard to believe that such a show in this day and age of crime, fugitives, sex predators and dirt bags cannot make a profit. As Hot Air reminds us, this isn’t the first time that Fox wanted to cancel the show. Although there are certain aspects of the show that need to be retooled and made to be made for ‘real time’, the concept is there and I am sure that AMW will find a nwe home maybe on Lifetime or Tru TV. The major networks are too busy running reruns of the Simpsons and reality TV to air such a show on a Saturday night. Although, one would think that FOX News would have room on the weekend as opposed to showing some of the programming they air.
America’s Most Wanted has a good chance of finding a home someplace else. The show averaged 5 million viewers this season and a 1.7 rating in the adult demo — pretty impressive for a Saturday, though that number was down slightly from last year. The main issue with the show wasn’t its popularity, but the cost of production.
We can only hope that America’s Most Wanted’ lands on another network. Shows of this importance and significance need to be on TV. A note to network execs … AMW is real Reality TV.

Donald Trumps Says He is Not Going ot Run for President
Donald Trump says … I have decided not to pursue the office of the presidency. In a move that should pretty much not surprise anyone, The Donald will not run for the GOP nomination for the President. As much as he would like to, Trump is out. Next, Trump has milked enough attention and PR for himself. Then again, did anyone think he was a serious candidate?
“After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the presidency,” Trump said in a statement.
With his typical bravado, Trump maintained that he would have won the Republican primary and the general election, but recognized that “running for public office cannot be done half-heartedly.”
“Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector,” Trump said in the statement.
Trump served his purpose, he made Obama blink.

Daily Commentary – Monday, May 16th, 2011 – Rough Times Seating Jury for Anthony Case
- With all the media coverage it’s tough finding jurors who haven’t already formed an opinion about the case.
Daily Commentary – Monday, May 16th, 2011 – Rough Times Seating Jury for Anthony Case [1:09m]: DownloadIMF Head Dominique Strauss-Kahn Faces Claim of Sexual Assault, Part Deux
It sounds like de javu, all over again …
62 year old IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was arrested over the weekend and removed from an Air France plane at JFK International Airport on the charges of sexual assault of a NYC hotel maid. However, this is not the first time such accusations have been made of Dominique Strauss-Kahn as reported at the Guardian.
A local official of the Socialist party claimed that Strauss-Kahn had attacked her daughter, who is goddaughter to Strauss-Kahn’s second wife, in 2002.
Tristane Banon was in her 20s and writing a book when she approached Strauss-Kahn for an interview in 2002. In a TV programme in 2007, in which Strauss-Kahn’s name had been bleeped out, Banon allegedly described him as a “rutting chimpanzee” and described how she was forced to fight him off. “It finished badly … very violently … I kicked him,” Banon said. “When we were fighting, I mentioned the word ‘rape’ to make him afraid, but it didn’t have any effect. I managed to get out.”
Once is an occurrence, twice is a trend. What are the odds that this latest sexual assault accusation will sink Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s run for French President?
UPDATE I: Dominique Strauss-Kahn denied bail in sexual assault case, farewell Cayman Islands, say hello to Rikers Island. The judge obviously felt that Kahn was a flight risk and denied the $1 million bail.
The decision to deny bail was a surprising and striking defeat for Mr. Strauss-Kahn, whom many saw as a leading contender to become France’s next president. He was taken to Rikers Island, where he will be held in protective custody in a single-person cell instead.
