US Rep. Peter King (NY-R): “Through Waterboarding … We Got Vital Information That Directly Led Us to Bin Laden” … Obama Wrong Again

Last night on ‘The Factor’ on Fox News, US Rep. Peter King (NY-R)  stated to Bill Reilly that the information that led to Osama bin Laden’s death came as a result of waterboarding. Didn’t Barack Obama say that waterboarding does not work?

Video Hat Tip: the Gateway Pundit

“You mentioned the fact that we obtained information several years ago, vital information about the courier for Osama. We obtained that information through waterboarding. And, fo for those who say that waterboarding doesn’t work, that it should be stopped. We got vital information that directly led us to Bin Laden.”

Obama is against waterboarding, but it appears that he is not against taking credit for the fruits that came from waterboarding. Maybe Barack Obama would like to do two thinks, one, thank George W. Bush and two, admit that waterboarding works. Or is Obama going to tell us that this intel that started the process of finally killing Bin laden would have been obtained by talking nice to KSM?

Who do we believe – Peter King, or the Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld? Who do you think would actually know? Rumsfeld you say? OK…he says they got this info without waterboarding. Go figure.

Incredible that Anti-American Republicans, such as the above author, are falling over themselves ignoring President Obama and instead offering obscene praise for George Bush and his “role” in taking out bin Laden. Bush’s “role” was actually to delay this accomplishment by years because of his incompetence and obsession with the costly disaster in Iraq. Bush did nothing…he stopped looking for bin Laden in 2005, ironically the same time the compound was built.

It took officials until Obama’s presidency to locate the courier, and well into Obama’s second year in office before they found the compound. Only then was the raid itself designed and, on Sunday, implemented.

Love Peter King. He’s from my neck of the woods and so proud of him because he is so politically incorrect. He tells it like he sees it.

The problem with torture is that you the signal-to-noise ratio is totally out of whack; they may tell you the truth, but they will say anything and will therefore make up a ton of fiction to go with every pound of truth. Further, the lies are what you want to hear, the truth might not be what you are expecting so it doesn’t seem significant at the time.

KSM told us that a courier existed 2003, but we didn’t get a name out of him, or anyone, until 2007. So did we not pursue the courier lead until 2007 or were we just no able to torture it out of anyone until 2007?

news is fresh on this, the truth will come out someday.
      ……
Since the operation that killed bin Laden, U.S. officials have described the courier they were tracking as a protege of Mohammed and another senior member of al Qaeda, Abu Faraj al Libi, a Libyan detainee who was named as al Qaeda’s third most senior leader when he was captured in May 2005.
      …..
U.S. officials have said that when the identity of the courier — who they have not named — was established in 2007 the U.S. began a path to the house in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where the al Qaeda leader was living.
      …..
So this courier was a personal protege of KSM and this other dude who were captured in 2003/2005 but we didn’t get a name until 2007.

Doesn’t sound to me like circa-2003 waterboarding was all that and a bag of chips.

I will give President Obama credit for making the decision to “pull the trigger” once he was informed that they had Osama’s location and were ready to go in. I think it was the smart thing to do and for once during his Presidency he did something right and did the job he is paid to do. However, with that being said, I had no doubt that President Obama would take the credit and make this about him. The real heros are the US Navy Seals and the CIA intelligence and all those involved in the Special Operations that tracked Osama for years and never gave up looking for that tyrant.

I am rather upset that the monster was given a proper Islamic Burial. I don’t think he deserved any respect and I’m sure the Muslim Community would rather not be associated with an evil man like Osama Bin Laden. Why do we continue to bend over backwards to appease Islam?

Now that more information is coming out about the operations that took place to locate and capture OBL, I think those on the left owe the Bush Administration an apology for all the ugly & hateful things they were saying regarding the “War on Terror” and the whole Gitmo situation and the waterboarding incidents. Waterboarding does work and this is proof of it. They should be thanking President Bush for his policies that President Obama continues to use that were effective in capturing OBL. Yep, the left are really praising President Obama for this. He continued what Bush started but where is the praise for President Bush? Hypocrites

One can try to discredit the President but he’s ultimately responsible for this success and he’ll take the credits come election time.
      Fair enough, me thinks.

SM: Sorry Charlie … the story is already changing and Obama is looking like a ditherer once again. The head of CIA came out and said that waterboarding was used. You know, that little interrogation method that Obama banned. So basically, this intel would not come out presently under what Obama undid.

No sorry, the Seal team is responsible.

Way to use deductive reasoning #2, you imp.

Exactly where do you think the initial info came from that identified the courier? When the story is finally told and the truth comes out from the CIA, you will have egg on your face.

    10. Mark on May 4th, 2011 2:23 am

One can try to spin it all one wants but ultimately the general public will remember come election time that on W’s watch the towers came tumbling down and that Obama got the culprit.
A huge success for the President with elections not far away.
      _______________
SM: More liberal fuzzy history … No LIB the people will remember on election day if they have a job, a home, a business and are paying $5 a gallon. If Obama tries to milk the deaths of 3000 people, it will fail just like the Wellstone Memorial did.

America is more than just killing Bin Laden … a 9% unemployment rate and $5 a gallon gas has a way of derailing a presidency. If you do not think so just ask former GOP President George H.W. Bush who had an 85% approval rating after the Gulf Wat 1.

Very true. This will play well in the debates; but it will not be a deciding factor in the ballot box for a great many people who are far more affected economically by the issues of today.

What will be very interesting is 10 years from now, how the history books frame 2011; and how the Arab Spring and the capturing of OBL is described to in the schools.

    12. Dolf on May 5th, 2011 1:20 am

The Arab spring is much more important then the killing of Osama.

    13. Alessio on May 5th, 2011 10:29 am

Peter King is a hypocrite. Why is he against releasing photos, given these terrorists don’t need an excuse to get riled up. Those scum need to fear us and see how they’ll wind up. Also, why Isn’t Peter King speaking out against the proper burial they gave this f$. D id our loved ones get a proper burial that day? What a sham!

      yoyo..you are a LYING FOOL!

Rumsfeld just last night said waterboarding was the key.

Why would you not believe Panetta who also said it?

It must drive liberal losers leeches of society like you that GWB policies led to the death of UBL.

Yep..GWB policies such as Gitmo; drones; special ops, that Obama campaigned against.

Get lost idiot. You have no fight in this game.

      Mark…hi SHEEPLE!

There is no spin; just facts and common sense which liberal morons like you do not use or do not apply to your flipped thinking. Americans as a whole aren’t as stupid as you are and will vote on what matters and FACTS.

Real Americans no whose policies Obama kept in place to kill UBL…how is that spin?

Real Americans will vote out Obama as gas prices continue to rise; people’s homes keep getting devalued; his taxes on the middle class that are coming; inflation, jobs, etc….

A year from now, nobody will care who was sitting in the oval office when UBL was killed.

If Obama continues to let Eric Holder go after the CIA interrogators who produced ultimately the information that led to UBL; HE WILL LOSE HIS RE-ELECTION bid easily.
