60 Year Old Japan Tsunami Miracle Survivor: Hiromitsu Shinkawa Found 10 Miles Out at Sea Clinging to Roof
Miracle … Japan Tsunami survivor found 10 miles out at sea clinging to the roof of his home.
In the midst of all the horrible and terrible stories of death and destruction in the aftermath of the Japan 8.9 earthquake and tsunami, comes the following miraculous story. 60 year old Hiromitsu Shinkawa was found safe and rescued 10 miles out to sea floating on the roof of his home. After clinging to the roof for two days following the tsunami, Shinkawa was spotted by a self-defence force destroyer taking part in the rescue as he waved a self-made red flag.
A 60-year-old man has been found on the roof of his floating house nearly 10 miles out at sea, two days after the tsunami that devastated the north-east coast of Japan.
Hiromitsu Shinkawa must have resigned himself to his fate when he was swept away by the retreating tsunami that roared ashore in his home town of Minami Soma in Fukushima prefecture.
As the wave approached, Shinkawa took the fateful decision to return home to collect belongings. Minutes later he was out at sea clinging to a piece of the roof from his own home.
Talk about your real life version of Japan ‘Survivor” or ‘Castaway’.
Let March Madness Begin as NCAA College Bracketology is the Only Game in Town, Ohio St, Kansas, Duke & Pitt #1 Seeds
If its March, it must be MARCH MADNESS.
The #1 seeds are Ohio St, Kansas, Duke and Pittsburgh. Full brackets are HERE.
So what are the early round potential upsets? Look for #13 Oakland to give #4 Texas all they can handle. #10 Penn St over #7 Temple. Another shocker will be #13 Belmont over #4 St. Johns.
So who got hosed and did not make it into the “Big Dance”? The kids at the University of Colorado, Virginia Tech and Alabama. However, for some reason the committee decided to not include the. All three are off to the NIT. Sorry but there is no way that VCU or UAB belonged in the NCAA College Basketball Tournament. After hearing what chairman Gene Smith, the athletic director at Ohio State, had to say about VCU and UAB why they got in … i know they should not be in. Hell, I question how Southern Cal made it is.
In defending the selection of UAB, which lost in the quarterfinals of the C-USA tournament to East Carolina, Smith said that the committee was impressed by “their road wins, who they beat, their RPI and a lot of different factors.”
UAB was 31 in the RPI, won nine road games and beat no team in the top 50 in the RPI.
Smith qualified his point by saying there wasn’t one factor that is ruled over the other. But then he delivered a telling nugget that served to explain his thinking.
“I couldn’t point to one thing,” Smith said on a conference call with the media Sunday night. “But they have a great resume. They’re a very good ballclub. We all know that.”
There is no power house basketball this year and as seen by many of the weak “at large” teams. Never have there been so many double digit loss teams in the field of 64, oops 68. Look for upsets to take place more often in this years tournament and teams like #3 UCONN or # 2 Notre Dame who are on a roll potentially wind up in the Final Four as opposed to the #1 seeds. However, what all of us are looking forward to is … who will be this years BUTLER? Who will the this years March Madness Hoosiers that will shock the NCAA Basketball world and make it all the way to the Finals?
Let the “bracketology” begin … fill out your sheets early and often.
Just What is on Joran Van der Sloot’s Laptop that Connects the Case of Missing Natalee Holloway in Aruba and Murdered Stephany Flores in Peru
Is there a laptop connection between the disappearance of Natalee Holloway and the murder of StephanyFlores? There is no coincidence that the disappearance and murder occurred 5 years to the day. That is not temporary insanity, its just plain sociopath insanity.
Alabama teen Natalee Holloway went missing May 30, 2005 while on vacation in Aruba. Five years to the day that Natalee Holloway went missing, last seen leaving an Aruba bar, Carlos N’ Charlies, with Joran Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers, Stephany Flores was murdered on May 30, 2010. The common denominator … Joran Van der Sloot.
However, the question has been posed, does Van der Sloot’s laptop computer potentially hold the clues into both cases? Joran Van der Sloot by his comments has basically implicated his laptop into both international crime cases. Joran stated that he flew into a fit a rage, temporary insanity as claimed by his legal mouth piece, when Van der Sloot claimed 21 year old Stephany Flores, “the girl intruded into my private life,” by looking at contents on his laptop regarding Natalee Holloway.
Will almost six years of mystery about Natalee Holloway’s fate be solved when FBI agents inspect the hard drive of Joran van der Sloot’s computer?

Only 3% of Americans Say Ivy League Schools Produce Better Workers
Only 3% of Americans say that those that attended Ivy League colleges make better workers, while a resounding 79% said that they do not. Maybe Americans should remember this same poll the next time they elect a President. Maybe a better worker would have done some thing else beside playing another round of golf when the world and the United States is in turmoil. It’s time to elect a non-Ivy League entitled president.
Ronald Reagan was the last president we had who didn’t graduate from an Ivy League school like Harvard or Yale, and the highest levels of government for much of the nation’s history have been filled with Ivy League grads. But that doesn’t seem to influence the thinking of most American Adults.
In fact, only three percent (3%) say individuals who go to Ivy League schools are better workers than those who go to other schools. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 79% do not think Ivy League students make better workers. Eighteen percent (18%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Rasmussen Presidental Tracking Poll: Obama at -18%
Once again President Barack Obama finds himself at a -18% Presidential Approval Index in the most recent Rasmussen poll. The One’s lack of leadership with a budget and reducing the deficit, providing strong talk on Libya and doing nothing and the rising cost of gasoline which will affect the economy could spell diasater for Obama. The Middle East is in turmoil, Japan in a humanitarian crisis, and the United States economy still fragile as gas gets near $4 per gallon … yet Obama yuks it up. More than two years into his presidency and he still cannot connect with the People.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 24% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18 (see trends).

The Comedian in Chief Obama Yuks it Up at the Gridiron Club Dinner as the World Burns
This is hardly a laughing matter … Nice priorities
Barack Obama, the Comedian in Chief does what he does best, provides us with yet another “Lost in Smallness” moment as he yuks it up and jokes around as the world is literally burning. Is an 8.9 magnitude Japanese earthquake, a subsequent tsunami where 10,000 are presumed dead, Japan’s worst crisis since WWII, 10.1% unemployment & 19.8% underemployment, increasing cost of oil & $4.00 gasoline, chaos in the Middle East, continued foreclosures in the US, states on the verge of bankruptcy, an out of control federal deficit, continued terror threats and Americans still trying to find jobs a laughing matter?
President Obama used his first appearance at the annual Gridiron Club Dinner as POTUS to push home an already labored point — with a little help from The Boss.
Taking the stage to give the evening’s closing remarks, the president looked toward the live band at the back of the room and asked, “Can we go with the song we talked about?”
The band struck up Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.,” drawing big laughs from the some 650 government officials, political figures, news executives and journalists in gathered at the Washington Renaissance hotel for the club’s 126th anniversary. (read the full story at the Politico)
We stated how inappropriate this was yesterday, guess what, it is still inappropriate today. Because it is such a laugh riot that at the Gridiron Club they would play Bruce Springsteen’s ”Born in the USA”as a reference to Obama’s lack of producing a long form birth certificate as the World burns. Hell, this President could not even produce a budget that was worth the paper it was written on, maybe they should have played Pink Floyd’s ‘Money’ instead.

TSA Records Show Full Body Scanner Radiation ’10X Higher Than Expected’ … All Scanner to be Retested
How can one agency continue to have so many problems?
After informing the public that air port scanners were safe, USA Today reports that maintenance records on some of the “invasive” scanner devices showed radiation levels 10 times higher than expected. In response the TSA stated that the ”records reflect math mistakes”; however, they would retest all 247 full body X-ray scanner that emits ionizing radiation in 38 airports.
The TSA says that the records reflect math mistakes and that all the machines are safe. Indeed, even the highest readings listed on some of the records — the numbers that the TSA says were mistakes — appear to be many times less than what the agency says a person absorbs through one day of natural background radiation.
Even so, the TSA has ordered the new tests out of “an abundance of caution to reassure the public,” spokesman Nicholas Kimball says. The tests will be finished by the end of the month, and the results will be released “as they are completed,” the agency said on its website.
Math mistakes? So there is not a higher level of radiation, there is in stead gross ignorance and a lack of proper oversight? As stated by Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) … the actions by the TSA are “unacceptable”.
She said the records released Friday “included gross errors about radiation emissions. That is completely unacceptable when it comes to monitoring radiation.”
U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz also was troubled by the information posted by the TSA. Chaffetz, R-Utah, chairs a House oversight subcommittee on national security and has sponsored legislation to limit the use of full-body scans. He has been pushing the TSA to release the maintenance records.
At best, Chaffetz said, the radiation reports generated by TSA contractors reveal haphazard oversight and record-keeping in the critical inspection system the agency relies upon to ensure millions of travelers aren’t subjected to excessive doses of radiation.

Veronica Perez Rodriguez was snatched by the gunmen in Ciudad Juarez after visiting her mother, who lives there, on Friday afternoon.
The archaeologist has been an associate professor of anthropology at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona since 2003.
Good grief, then there is this diddy from the Jawa Report regarding the U.S. Consular Affairs and their lack of ability of multi-tasking.
Ivna Giauque with the Department of U.S. Consular Affairs told CNN they hadn’t been alerted about a kidnapping because they’ve been focused on the earthquake that hit Japan on Friday.
As stated at GretaWire, Dear Mr. President, there is a war going on in Mexico and our US-Mexican border. Previously, Secretary Clinton said that Mexico is ‘like Columbia of 20 years ago.’ For her actions, she was rebuked by both President Calderone and President Obama. How many more murders, kidnappings and drugs need to flow across the border before this administration will take notice?
UPDATE I: FOX News Phoenix is reporting that Northern Arizona University Professor Veronica Perez Rodriguez has been found safe after being kidnapped. Veronica Perez Rodriguez said to be a victim of “express kidnapping”. The all to common practice in Mexico of kidnapping Mexicans who appear to be wealthy or middle class for fast cash ransom.
A Northern Arizona University professor is reported to be safe and back with her family in Mexico after being briefly kidnapped.
School officials said Saturday that Veronica Perez Rodriguez was the victim of a kidnapping late Friday while visiting family members in Ciudad Juarez.

President Obama Grapples with Japan Earthquake, Libya and Oil Prices … As He Plays Golf & Yuks It Up at 126th Annual Gridiron Club Dinner Saturday Night
Could Obama be any more inappropriate?
According to President Barrack Obama, the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami in Japan that has killed so many and caused so much destruction has left him heart broken. Really? I guess he was trying to get over his broken heart while playing golf again today or attending the 126th Annual Gridiron Club dinner is DC tonight, yuking it with the press.
In the video above Obama also tried to defend his handling of the volatility of the situation in Libya by saying, “we are slowly tightening the noose on Muammar Gaddafi”. Tightening the noose? Imagine if any one in the GOP every used such verbiage, it would be deemed hate speech. Obama also tried to dowenplay the soaring gas and oil prices.
President Barack Obama will speak at the 126th annual Gridiron Club dinner in Washington on Saturday evening.
The white-tie event is an opportunity for journalists to poke fun at public figures and political themes of the day. .
With the world in turmoil from earthquakes to escalating oil prices to uncertainty in the Middle East to the world and US economic down turn and Obama us going to find fun and humor in the political themes of the day. Really? How appropriate. Obama missed last years event because shilling for Obamacare was too important; however, with crisis every where … The Comedian in Chief thinks it is perfectly A-O-K to joke around while Americans are jobless, losing their homes and Japan is in complete disarray.
