Ooops, Barack Obama Understates Federal Deficits by $2.3 Trillion
So whats an extra $2.3 trillion … nothing it appears to Barack Obama.
According to the CBO, President Barack Obama has underestimated the US’s federal budget deficit by $2.3 trillion. What ever happened to that being up front with the American people and transparency? The CBO does not agree with Obama’s numbers. Obama appears to be using “hope & change” with the budget deficits.
A new assessment of President Barack Obama’s budget released Friday says the White House underestimates future budget deficits by more than $2 trillion over the upcoming decade.
The estimate from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says that if Obama’s February budget submission is enacted into law it would produce deficits totaling $9.5 trillion over 10 years – an average of almost $1 trillion a year.

That Well Spent Stimulus Money … , Amtrak Renaming Train Station in Wilmington, DE after Vice President Joseph R. Biden, the Stimulus “Sheriff”
Does anyone really still question why the $787 billion stimulus plan that was supposed to create jobs was a complete bust?
Just another example of the waste of the stimulus money, $20 million was allocated to the Wilmington, DE Amtrak railway station … they rename the station after VP Joseph Biden. Nice to know that you funnel tax payer monitory resources to a project and get your name attached to it. UNREAL, hmm, no conflicts or nothing inappropriate here. So Barack Obama taps VP Joe Biden to oversee the allocation of the stimulus money and t
As a thank-you to its most famous customer, Amtrak is renaming the train station in Wilmington, Del., after stimulus “sheriff” Vice President Joseph R. Biden — after the project received $20 million in stimulus money and came in $5.7 million over the initial announced budget.
Spokesmen for Mr. Biden, who said he personally fought for stimulus money for Amtrak, didn’t respond to messages Wednesday or Thursday.
But Amtrak said it alone made the decision to rename the station in honor of the vice president. The company also said its own budget projection was always greater than the $32 million the White House announced back in 2009 — though Amtrak itself also listed the $32 million cost that year, later raising the price tag to $37.7 million.
No wonder Democrats are all for high speed trains, Biden just wants a faster choo-choo trained named after him.
President Barack Obama Forced to Cancel Public Speech in Rio Square
BLAME IT ON RIO …
The International rock star, President Barack Obama has canceled his public speech in the historic plaza known as Cinelandia, in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. So why the cancellation? Could it be that “The One” is not as popular internationally as he thinks he is? Could it be because near the Rio square anti-US banners could be seen hanging from a road-side fence and some social and union groups had declared Obama a “persona non grata” and called for a protest?
“Blame It on Rio”
President Barack Obama has cancelled a public speech he was scheduled to deliver Sunday in a Rio square during his upcoming visit to Brazil, the US embassy in Brasilia said.
The speech in the historic plaza known as Cinelandia, in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, “is cancelled,” an embassy spokeswoman told AFP.
Obama instead will deliver remarks at Rio’s Municipal Theatre, the official said, without specifying whether it would be open to the public or exclusively for invited guests.
No explanation for the change of venue was given by the embassy. Brazilian authorities have laid out a heavy security presence for Obama’s two-day visit to South America’s largest nation, and police in Rio had closed numerous streets from midnight Thursday in preparation.
One thing that was not canceled was the Obama’s spending Spring Break in Rio as Michelle Obama and their children will be accompanying the President. Most Americans who can only take “staycations” are saying, “must be nice”.
UPDATE I: As Japan faces a nuclear disaster and Libya is in complete chaos, Obama goes to Rio for Spring Break. The Daily News states that Obama just can’t please Conservatives. Sorry, with the chaos in the word and poor economy at home in the US, Democrats are none to happy either.
President Obama just can’t please conservatives.
The president landed in Brazil Saturday morning for the start of a three-nation Latin American tour, while a right-wing chorus back home assailed him for traveling while emergencies and chaos reign in Libya and Japan.
UPDATE II: Wasn’t Obama supposed to be so well liked Internationally because of not being a Cowboy? Rio had quite the violent protests ahead of “The Obamamessiah’s” visit. It’s not just GWB who has protests prior to going to a foreign country. Obama learns that all US presidents are lumped in the same protest-hate club.
Was that “Bullets over Broadway’? … nope, that would be Rubber bullets over Brazile … I guess we now know why the outside speech was cancelled. Some protesters paraded out a coffin with an “Obama go Home.”
As the Jawa Report opines, commies protesting commies, does it get any more confusing than that?

U.N. Backs No Fly Zone and Military Action in Libya … Moammar Gadhafi Defiant
UN OK’s Military action against Libya …
As reported at the NY Times, The UN Sercurity Council has voted to authorize military action against Moammar Gadhafi’s troops to protect Libyan civilians. The vote was 10 – 0 with five abstentions. However, has this decision come far too late in the game as the rebel troops have been devastated lately by Qaddafi troops. Moammar Gadhafi has vowed retaliation.
VIDEO: ABC News
The United Nations Security Council voted Thursday to authorize military action, including airstrikes against Libyan tanks and heavy artillery and a no-fly zone, a risky foreign intervention aimed at averting a bloody rout of rebels by forces loyal to Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi …
Diplomats said the resolution — which passed with 10 votes, including the United States, and abstentions from Russia, China, Germany, Brazil and India — was written in sweeping terms to allow for a wide range of actions, including strikes on air-defense systems and missile attacks from ships. Military activity could get under way within a matter of hours, they said.
The full draft resolution can be read HERE.
British and French aircraft prepared to take the lead, but exactly where is the US in all of this?
British and French military aircraft are preparing to protect the Libyan rebel stronghold of Benghazi after the UN security council voted in favour of a no-fly zone and air strikes against Muammar Gaddafi’s forces.
With Gaddafi’s troops closing in on Benghazi, the French prime minister, François Fillon, said “time is of the essence” and that France would support military action within hours of the vote.
But a US official was more cautious, warning against expectations of imminent action. French planes will operate from bases on its Mediterranean coast. Several Arab countries have promised to join the operation. The US backed the resolution, a complete turnaround after weeks of resisting no-fly zone proposals, but has not yet said what role it would play in military action.
However, are these actions way to late to help the rebel forces?

Four New York Times Journalists Missing in Libya
Four NY Times Journalists are missing in Libya. Among the missing are the missing Anthony Shadid, the Beirut bureau chief, Stephen Farrell, and two photographers, Tyler Hicks and Lynsey Addario. Were they detained at a government check point, abducted, being held hostage or worse? They still have yet to be heard from since their disappearance. As seen by the recent revolution in Egypt, there has been a sudden rash of violence against journalists covering news stories in the volatile Middle East and Africa.
Editors said they were last in contact with the journalists, who were reporting from the northern port city of Ajdabiya, on Tuesday morning New York time. And despite second-hand reports that they had been swept up by Libyan government forces, the paper said it could not confirm that information.
“We have talked with officials of the Libyan government in Tripoli, and they tell us they are attempting to ascertain the whereabouts of our journalists,” said Bill Keller, executive editor of The Times. “We are grateful to the Libyan government for their assurance that if our journalists were captured they would be released promptly and unharmed.”
We wish them a safe return. It does not matter whether a journalist is Left, Right or Center, these folks put themself in harms way to report stories and this incident further shows just ow dangerous their profession can be. May they return safe.
UPDATE I: Libya Says they will Release the 4 Journalists. The NY Times journalist had had been captured by forces loyal to Moammar Gadhafi. According to Seif Islam Gadhafi, Gadhafi’s son, the journalists had entered Libya illegally.
Four New York Times journalists missing in Libya since Tuesday were captured by forces loyal to Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi and will be released, the Libyan leader’s son Seif al-Islam el-Qaddafi told Christiane Amanpour in an ABC News interview early Friday.
2012 Presidental Election will be About Obama’s Last 4 Years … Not Necessarily the GOP Challengers
Irrelevant poll after suspect poll after even more questionable polls are presented about hypothetical match ups between President Barack Obama and probably GOP contenders for the 2012 Presidential election. However, the focus is not on the potential multitude of Republican challengers, it will be on Obama and his resume of the last four years.
All this logic is terribly flawed. Here’s why. The contest four years ago was for an open seat. Open-seat races are about all comers and both parties. The 2012 election will be a reelection contest. It will focus narrowly on the incumbent. Has Barack Obama handled the presidency well enough to deserve reelection? Virtually all incumbents, and even a few challengers, appear to resent this one-sided nature of reelection contests. But resentment doesn’t alter the reality.
Incumbents, including Obama, react to this certainty by doubling down on opposition research. They figure they can “make it all about the challenger” with enough dirt to induce people to forget about the incumbent’s failures.
In 2012 Americans will have to ask themselves has Barack Obama lived up to his own “Hope & Change” hype. Has Obama the campaigner done the same job in office as President? Can America say that Obama’s policies have made the economy better, have they made health care better, US energy independence better and have they made the environment to attain a job better?

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton … JUST SAYS NO
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tells CNN’s Wolf Blitzer … “No, No, No, No. The questions are below.
Q- If the president is reelected, do you want to serve a second term as secretary of state?
NoQ- Would you like to serve as secretary of defense?
NoQ- Would you like to be vice president of the United States? [Joe Biden can rest easy]
NoQ- Would you like to be president of the United States?
No
Hmm … Clinton wants no part of a second Obama Presidency.
More interesting of Hillary Clinton’s answers of saying “no” to servings a second term of secretary of state, serving as secretary of defense, being VP or runing again for President is the fact that Hillary’s poll numbers are highly favorable. With Clinton’s 65% favorably rating, one really has to wonder whether she might have another Presidential run in her. If Obama’s numbers continue to tank, could Hillary challenge Obama in 2012? How much more will the LEFT take of Obama’s promises that have gone unfulfilled?
Poll pdf can be seen HERE.
