GM Pays more than $400 million in Bonuses to Workers Rather Than Paying Back Their Loan to We the People

Government Motors is looking an awful like AIG …

General Motors, GM, is going to pay workers more than $400 million in bonuses, even though they still owe John Q. Public. So let’s understand this, GM makes a profit and instead of paying back their $49.5 billion bailout from the tax payers, they provide bonuses instead. UNBELIEVABLE! Remember when President Barack Obama blasted AIG for taking bonuses after they took a federal bailout? Where is the outrage from Obama?

As shareholders, when might we expect a dividend check? At the town hall meeting, Obama said he was “outraged” at the bonuses that AIG executives have received while the company was getting “extraordinary assistance from taxpayers to keep its doors open.”

Less than two years after entering bankruptcy, General Motors will extend millions of dollars in bonuses to most of its 48,000 hourly workers as a reward for the company’s rapid turnaround after it was rescued by the government.

The payments, disclosed Monday in company documents, are similar to bonuses announced last week for white-collar employees. The bonuses to 76,000 American workers will probably total more than $400 million — an amount that suggests executives have increasing confidence in the automaker’s comeback.

Most of GM’s hourly workers will get a record payment of more than $4,000 — more than double the previous record in 1999, at the height of the boom in sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks. Nearly all 28,000 white-collar workers such as engineers and managers will get 4 to 16 percent of their base pay. A few — less than 1 percent — will get 50 percent or more.

As stated at Michelle Malkin.com, Barack Obama forced Americans into becoming 60% share holders of GM. However, wouldn’t one think that the shareholder would get a dividend check to pay back a loan before bonuses were provided to employees? Hmm?

The general taxpaying public will probably see Justin Bieber on the cover of AARP Magazine before that happens.

President Barack Obama’s New Budget: $1.65 Trillion Deficit for This Year

Obviously President Barack Obama did not get the “shellacking” message of the 2010 midterm elections. Obama’s new budget is $1.65 trillion for this year. WHAT! Freezing spending is not going to cut it sir, especially when you increased federal spending to record levels.

The other one-third of the savings would come from tax increases, including limiting tax deductions for high income taxpayers, a proposal Obama put forward last year only to have it rejected in Congress.

The Obama budget recommendation, which is certain to be changed by Congress, would spend $3.73 trillion in the 2012 budget year, which begins Oct. 1, a reduction of 2.4 percent from what Obama projects will be spent in the current budget year.

The Obama plan would fall far short of the $4 trillion in deficit cuts recommended in a December report by his blue-ribbon deficit commission.

Obama claims his budget will reduce record federal deficits by $1.1 trillion over the next decade. That’s it? Obama did not even take the recommendations of hisbudget reducing committee of deficit reduction. Is this President really serious about lowering the federal deficit? It certainly appears that he does not want to lead with any find of biting deficit reduction plan.

An Inconvenient Global Warming Prediction … Al Gore Says North Pole Will Be Completely Ice Free in Next Five Years

AN INCONVENIENT NORT POLE PREDICTION …

More prediction  pearls of wisdom and “junk science” from the global warming master Al Gore. The “Goracle” predicted in the next five years that the North Pole would be completely ice free. He made this prediction in 2009. Oops.

Former Vice President Al Gore references computer modeling to suggest that the north polar ice cap may lose virtually all of its ice within the next seven years. “Some of the models suggest that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during some of the summer months, could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years,” says Gore.

US Rep Jeff Flake (R-AZ) to Announce Running for U.S. Senate Seat of Retiring Sen. Jon Kyl

As speculated last week when US Senator John Kyl (R-AZ) announced that he would retire at the end of his present term and would not seek reelection in 2012, 5 terms US Representative Jeff Flake (R-AZ 06) will announce tomorrow that he will run for the open Senate seat. This is welcome news for Conservatives. This will be an interesting race for 2012 as the mood of the country is that to be fiscally conservative. As fate would have it, that is exactly what Flake is.

Flake’s decision to run for the Senate is sure to rev up Republican competition for his GOP-heavy congressional district. He’s also expected to have plenty of competition in the Senate primary.

As reported atMyFox Phoenix, other names mentioned to possibly run for the open seat include Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, Sheriff Joe Arpaio,  former U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth and former state attorney general Grant Woods.

GOP Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Declared that the Obama Agenda is Over

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell declared in a speech over the weekend that President Barack Obama’s legislative agenda was over. Funny, I thought the American public told that to the Democrats and Obama in the 2010 midterm elections when “We the People” overwhelmingly voted out Democrats in the House, Senate, Governors and state legislatures.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell declared Saturday that President Barack Obama’s legislative agenda is “over,” but said GOP lawmakers are willing to work with the White House to do what they “think is right for America.”

In a speech Saturday night to a GOP crowd in his hometown, the Kentucky Republican derided Obama for performing “Clintonian back flips” to portray himself as a moderate, but said it’s yet to be seen whether the new tone is “rhetoric or reality.”

The days of Obama and Democrat spending are over, yet some how they just did not get the message. As reported at The Hill,  Obama budget falls far short of debt commission savings plan.

President Obama’s 2012 budget request to be released on Monday will reduce budget deficits over the next decade by only a quarter of the amount proposed by the presidential debt commission in December, a senior administration official confirmed Sunday.

David Gregory pressed Speaker Boehner during the interview asking him whether it is his repsonsibility to “stand up to that kind of ignorance,”and do the bidding of the President. One would think that the MSM had that job well in hand. Boehner responded, “It’s not my job to tell the American people what to think. Our job in Washington is to listen to the American people.”

Senator John McCain (AZ-R) Says on CBS’s Face the Nation … “These Winds of Change That are Blowing”, Putin and Hu be Warned

This morning on CBS’s Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer, Republican US Senator John McCain stated that the recent governmental overthrow in Egypt would likely spur similar movements throughout the world. McCain would then go to warned leaders like Hu and Putin in countries like China and Russia that they might be next. The winds of change are blowing.

“I don’t think this is confined to the Middle East, just as we believe that human rights are universal,” said McCain, in an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

“These winds of change that are blowing, I think I would be a little less cocky in the Kremlin with my KGB cronies today if I were [Russian Prime Minister] Vladimir Putin,” he warned.“I would be a little less secure in the seaside resort that [Chinese] President Hu and a few men who govern and decide the fate of 1.3 billion people.”

Domonique Ramirez, Miss San Antonio Stripped of her Crown for … Eating Too many Tacos

Just when you thought you have heard it all …

17 year old Domonique Ramirez is the reigning Miss San Antonio; however, not for long. The pageant board wants to strip  away Domonique Ramirez of her title. She  is presently suing to keep her crown. So what did Miss Ramirez do that was so bad that warranted her having her title stripped … Pose nude? Drugs? Sex Tape? Felony arrest? No, no, no and no. Domonique Ramirez has ate too many tacos! Unbelievable!

The board is charging Ramirez with “gaining excessive weight, showing up late to official events, and insubordination. The have already moved to give the crown to runner-up Ashley Dixon.

Linda Woods, a spokeswoman for the Brexar County pageant board says, “As a Miss San Antonio reigning queen, she has to live up to our rules and regulations and the standards of our contract.”

 The pageant is saying that she is overweight and does not fit her clothes. She was  informed that she had been replaced by her 2010 runner-up Ashley Dixon. Ramirez says she’s 5’8, weighs 129 pounds, and is a size 2. She says the allegations are false. Ramirez is not going into that dark night quietly, she won a temporary restraining order postponing the case until a February 16th hearing.

Ann Coulter Says Nominate Chris Christie, Because Mitt Romney Will Lose

Yesterday at CPAC, Conservative Ann Coulter warned the crowd … nominate  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, because former GOP Governor of Massachusettes Mitt Romney will lose in 2012. Coulter also went on to say, “I warned you about John McCain.” Coulter was correct in 2008 and she is right for 2012. Romney is not the GOP’s answer for victory in 2012.

Question asked of Coulter via Mediaite, who is her least favorite Democrat? Answer: “It’s like asking my least favorite disease.”

Asked in a Q&A session after a bombastic speech at CPAC what she thought of the 2012 field of hopefuls, Coulter initially hesitated, but went on to essentially deliver an endorsement of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

“If you don’t run Chris Christie, Romney will be the nominee and we’ll lose,” said Coulter, eliciting cheers from the crowd.

“By the way,” she added, “I warned you about McCain.”
