The former president of the Ganinsville, FL chapter of MADD was arrested for, fire up the irony music … DUI! That is correct, 48 year old Debra Oberlin was arrested after police stated that her car she was driving was swerving. Police gave her two breathalyzer tests where she blew a .234 and .239. OUCH, the legal alcohol limit in Florida is .08.
Thankfully, this woman did not harm anyone and was pulled over and arrested before she could do any damage. It is kind of hard to believe that a former head of Mothers Against Drunk Driving chapter could be arrested for such a high breathalyzer test. One would think that she learned something when she was in MADD.

Twenty five years ago while going thru a divorce, I was a member of the jail house group Drunks Against Mad Mothers (DAMM). Our members always knew MADD women could blow it with the best of them. … Guess that is proven now… Appears Ms Oberline was on a serious drunk car ride, at least the police got her before she hurt anyone. Now that she is in receipt of such a distinguished DUI, all the drunks in jail with her will invite her to be the head of DAMM … actually the jail group was called Dads against Mad Mothers, we all met Friday and Saturday nights in jail because the x-wives always got their way with the courts… we just didn’t look good in a mini shirt, especially drunk

SM: I hardly think that promoting drinking & driving is a good thing. Sadly, this women went on a real bender. It is no badge of honor to be in any group that would tivialize drunk driving and the damage, heart ache and pain it causes to innocent families who are on the receiving end of a DUI accident.

Amen Brother! I lost a cousin & her husband along with another couple to a drunk driver all in their early 20′s. It’s nothing to joke about.
Sadly this is no shocker for me!!! To many people have no integrity anymore…. I wish i could be shocked:)

I had no problem with MADD when they first came out. I am sure they saved many lives. I had a change of heart when they got the limit lowered to.08. I have passed field soberity tests and tests at the police station at .11.The Police woman who administered the test said the the arresting officer ” this guy ain’t drunk why did you bring him in”. My point being drunk driving is bad but lowering the limit has caused many people to suffer who posed no threat.

The irony is—-if she herself personally lost someone to a Drunk Driver or another intoxicated offender,,,,,,,wouldn’t she be all the wiser to hand some one else who is straight the keys?
As Adults, we are allowed to indulge. The difference always comes down to the deadly and STUPID decision of then GETTING BEHIND THE WHEEL.
In High School- Seniors are taught about all the dangers of illegal, underage and over drinking.
The difference is called a DESIGNATED DRIVER.
Keeping it simple. As an adult- why shouldn’t the same rules of driving while under the influence apply to us.
As for those of you whining about blowing a .08—while I do understand that could be simply one cocktail in an hour—a good investment they have out now are these little apparatus which you can give yourself a little test and see what you register as. If it reads out at more than a .08—there is your answer. Don’t drive. Have to get somewhere anyway? Call a friend, call a cab. The laws are the laws and they are put in to place to keep the general public safe. Period.
Don’t like them—-then do what millions of other Americans do. Either have a party in your own house to get schnockered—or have one at a friends and crash on their couch. This is simple. I have lost 2 people from different car accidents who were innocent and hit by drunk drivers (one a REPEAT OFFENDER DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED)- this topic makes me hot under the collar.
Use your brains, and stop looking for excuses.
DO NOT DRIVE WHILE IMPAIRED. Period.

MADD persons have ruined so many lives. Where is their disclosure of public funds. What do they do except criminalize a legal substance. MADD receives money from all DUI convictions as a term of probation. Where do they spend these millions of donated Federal and State dollars? Hypocrites and crooks. How are the MADD persons accountable.
Answer that if you can..Gosd Bless their rotten Souls. Mad AT MADD HYPOCRITES. Please destroy some more families in your HOLY SECULAR CRUSADE.
MADD is a ripoff joke. They haven’t done anything except make millions for Attorneys, Judges and a fund raiser for the county and city cops.
