Fitness Guru Jack LaLanne Passes Away at the Age of 96

Jack LaLanne, the Godfather of fitness and health, has passed away at the age of 96. The man who brough fitness and health to households long before it became a cottage inductry has passed.

The man who for 70 years has told Americans to eat healthy, pump iron, lose weight and exercise has died from respiratory failure due to pneumonia in his Morro Bay, CA home Sunday afternoon. The fitness pioneer revolutionized the way we looked at health and fitness. Jack LaLanne is survived by his wife Elaine, his two sons Dan and Jon, and a daughter, Yvonne.

This is a nation of tired people,” he said, in an effort to encourage people to exercise. “Everyone is suffering from that chronic disease that I like to call pooped-out-itis.”

“Inactivity is a killer,” LaLanne once said.  “The only way you can hurt the body is not use it.”

 LaLanne was a fitness pioneer, opening the first of his many exercise studios in 1936. He focused on weight-training at a time when the idea of pumping iron was strictly taboo, especially for women.

“You have to understand that it was absolutely forbidden in those days for athletes to use weights. It just wasn’t done. We had athletes who used to sneak into the studio to work out,” he once said.

Athletic trainers believed bulking up would slow athletes down and women were supposed to look curvy and feminine, not athletic and toned.

“Back then, women weren’t supposed to use weights. I guess I was a pioneer,” LaLanne said.

Jack LaLanne has been igniting change and promoting fitness for years. We have truly lost a national treasure. Jack LaLanne was a man before his time.

LaLanne spent decades talking about the healthful benefits of exercise and fitness. He opened his own health spa in California in 1936, years before the fitness craze swept the United States. LaLanne even designed the world’s first leg-extension machine, along with several other pieces of fitness equipment now standard in the fitness industry.

He was born in San Francisco on September 26, 1914. A self-confessed sugar- and junk-food addict as a child, he went on to study bodybuilding and weight-lifting by the time he was in his late teens.

 Jack’s wife of 51 years,  Elaine LaLanne said in a statement: “I have not only lost my husband and a great American icon, but the best friend and most loving partner anyone could ever hope for.”

A Chinese pianist played an anti-American Communist propaganda song at Barack Obama’s White House State Dinner for Chinese President Hu. Why is no one surprised? Could the Obama Administration be any more pathetic of disrespectful to America and those that fought and died in the Korean War? Obviously, there was no otrage from Obama or his peeps. Let me guess, the Novice in Chief had no idea what he was listening to?

Lang Lang the pianist says he chose it. Chairman Hu Jintao recognized it as soon as he heard it. Patriotic Chinese Internet users were delighted as soon as they saw the videos online. Early morning TV viewers in China knew it would be played an hour or two beforehand. At the White House State dinner on Jan. 19, about six minutes into his set, Lang Lang began tapping out a famous anti-American propaganda melody from the Korean War: the theme song to the movie “Battle on Shangganling Mountain.”

The film depicts a group of “People’s Volunteer Army” soldiers who are first hemmed in at Shanganling (or Triangle Hill) and then, when reinforcements arrive, take up their rifles and counterattack the U.S. military “jackals.”

The movie and the tune are widely known among Chinese, and the song has been a leading piece of anti-American propaganda by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for decades. CCP propaganda has always referred to the Korean War as the “movement to resist America and help [North] Korea.” The message of the propaganda is that the United States is an enemy—in fighting in the Korean War the United States’ real goal was said to be to invade and conquer China. The victory at Triangle Hill was promoted as a victory over imperialists.

This administration is as clueless as we have ever had in the WH. But wait, remember last year when the WH had no clue there was a Moa Tse Tung ornament on one of the Christmas trees in the WH? But then again, Obama just plays stupid.

Of course Barack and Michelle Obama most likely had a clueless smile on their faces the entire time as they listened to the anti-American diddy. Doesn’t anyone in this administration screen what is done in the White House? I guess this is what is allowed when China owns American debt … they get to play anti-American songs in the White House.

There is little doubt that Obama knew this was going to happen, but that he had no problem with it fits neatly with his world apology tour, his three years of apologizing for the United States in foreign lands, his bowing and scraping (literally) before kings and tyrants the world over, and his constant need to punish this country.

The Barack Obama Hawaii Birth Certificate Saga Continues … Release, Not Release, and Why Not?

The saga continues as to the Barack Hussein Obama Hawaiian birth certificate …

Lately it would appear that those on the LEFT are acting more like “bithers” than actual birthers. It has been the LEFT and the MSM that has been pushing the Obama birth certificate authenticity story almost more than those that began question BO’s place of birth. Recently, even MSNBC’s Chris Matthews jumped on the “birther” band wagon and questioned why President Obama would not just release the document and put all the nonsense to an end.

Newly elected Democrat Governor Abercrombie stated he was going to get to the bottom of the long form birth certificate and release it. However, privacy laws that shield birth certificates has prompted Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie to abandon efforts to dispel claims that President Barack Obama was born outside Hawaii.

“There is nothing more that Gov. Abercrombie can do within the law to produce a document,” said Dela Cruz. “Unfortunately, there are conspirators who will continue to question the citizenship of our president.”

Abercrombie, who was a friend of Obama’s parents and knew him as a child, launched an investigation last month into whether he can release more information about the president’s Aug. 4, 1961 birth. The governor said at the time he was bothered by people who questioned Obama’s birthplace for political reasons.

But Abercrombie’s attempt reached a dead end when Louie told him the law restricted his options.

Hawaii’s privacy laws have long barred the release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who doesn’t have a tangible interest.

However, the sudden back track from Gov. Abercrombie leads many, including those on the LEFT, to wonder why. Everyone will remember that Abercrombie promised that once he was elected Governor he would prove Obama’s birth certificate existed because he would march down to the Hall of Records and demand its production from the archives. So why the back track?  This is rather unbelievable as two things would have had to take place prior to Abercrombie’s promise, one, he would have to have had Obama’s approval and two, he would have known the privacy laws of the state he was about to become governor of.

I, like Republican House majority leader Eric Cantor believe that Barack Obama is a US citizen, I happen to believe there is another reason why Obama has spent so much money and gone to such vast lengths to suppress the document. I always believed that there was other embarrassing or thought otbe damaging information on the certificate like race of Obama being “caucasian”.

5 Missing Americans Rescued at Sea on Board Catamaran ‘The Pineapple’ in Phillipines

Five missing Americans have been found safe by the Philippine coast guard aboard the  38-foot catamaran ‘The Pineapple’. The four men and one woman are all being reported in good health. The boat originally left Guam on January 6, but failed to reach its final destination of Cebu Island in the central Philippines. The Pineapple had met with bad weather and rough seas. According to reports, the boat suffered a rudder and radio casualty that delayed the Pineapple’s voyage but it was never in danger of sinking.

A search ship guided by a spotter plane located the 38-foot (11-meter) catamaran The Pineapple after it was spotted off the southern island of Dinagat, coast guard chief Adm. Wilfredo Tamayo said. The rescuers were escorting the vessel to its original destination on central Cebu island, he said.

“They apparently had engine trouble while in rough seas,” Tamayo told The Associated Press, adding that he was awaiting other details.

THE FAR LEFT IS IN MOURNING

The loony LEFT is not taking the demise of Keith Olbermann well. It has been just been a couple of  days since Olbermann said farewell from MSNBC and the LEFT is still reeling with over the top, histrionic crazy talk. Moonbattery has some more tweets that will make you shake your head with the LEFT’s silliness.

What is most interesting about the “hue and cry” throughout moonbatland is the fact that so many feel that Keith Olbermann’s speech has been silenced as if he could never get another gig. Or cant he? If Olbermann is such a hero of the LEFT, I am sure some liberal media outlet would hire him on his merits. There are certainly enough liberal MSM outlets in the industry, if he adds any thing to the conversation.

Ultimately what does the LEFT have to say that their hero left MSNBC because of the $’s, not because of some noble progressive cause?

What is lost in all the over the top histrionics of the LEFT claiming to have lost their “progressive” voice and the squelching of free speech is that Keith Olbermann left MSNBC because he wanted more money. Simply speaking, Olbermann wanted more money, MSNBC disagreed and Keith Olbermann departed. As we learned, this was not a knee jerk reaction as seen by the last minute farewell from Olbermann, but weeks in the making of a contract negotiation. What will the LEFTthink that their hero was about money, not about the progressive cause? Yet in the end, Olbermann hardly has the ratings to play a game of chicken with management brass.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik Faces Recall Bid Due to Bias Politcizing the Tucson, AZ Shooting

Do actions really have consequences in Tucson, AZ?

Will there be ramifications for Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik’s outspoken and inappropriate comments follwoing the Tucson, AZ shooting? Following the mass shooting that left 6 dead and 13 wounded including US Rep Gabby Giffords (AZ-D), Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik was quick to blame heated political rhetoric,prejudice & bigoty, and talk radio for the shooting.

The only problem was that there was no evidence pointing in that direction. Instead, Dupnik went on TV interview after TV interview providing only opinion. Hardly what is expected from a law enforcement officer.

Because of his actions, a group has begaun efforts to recall the sheriff in a special election. Although Dupnik is in a heavily Democrat district, all people really need to take a look at what the sheriff did and ask themselves whether they deem this appropriate of LE. Should a sheriff politicize a crime, instead of providing the facts of the case?

Joan Rivers Reveals She Ditched a Joke from Stand Up Routine Calling First Lady Michelle Obama … “Blackie O”

File this one under, Joan Rivers might have wanted to have kept this one quiet …

In an interview with Howard Stern, comedian Joan Rivers revealed that she wanted to do a joke about first lady Michelle Obama; however, she backed off because she did nit want to be perceived as being a racist. She was going to refer to Michelle Obama as “Blackie – O” in comparison to Jackie O and the former first lady’s sense of style and fashion.

YIKES, the audio can be hear at Radar On Line. Stern asked Joan Rivers if having to hold back on such a joke was one of the things wrong with this country. Rivers responded, “yes”. One really has to wonder the fear of being called a racists if someone like Joan Rivers who has never been afraid of pushing the envelop would have kept quiet. Rivers has never silenced herself, even when she made fun of herself.

One has to wonder why if Joan Rivers dicthed the joke in fear of being labeled a racists, why she would even want to discuss it for still being called a racist. Just a note to Joan Rivers, she was correct, she would have not only been called a racist, she would have been labeled a member of the Tea Party.

One side note to Joan Rivers, sorry, but when it comes to style and fashion … Michelle Obama does not even begin to hold a candle to to former first lady and dearly deaparted Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

More MSNBC Civility: US Rep. Cohen (TN-D) Compares Mike Pence to Goebbels, Ed Schultz Agrees

Oh that liberal civility …

The liberal hate continues from US Rep. Steve Cohen (TN-D) via the airwaves of MSNBC. Cohen went on to MSNBC and was interviewed by Ed Schultz following Cohen’s hateful comments where he compared Republicans to Nazi’s. As stated by NewsBusters, the interview began as some what of an apology from Cohen; however, it wound up being something much different.

The interview actually started out seeming to be an opportunity for Cohen to apologize for his Tuesday comments, with Schultz asking: “Congressman, did you go too far there?” Cohen seemed hesitantly remorseful: “Well, apparently so because a lot of people, I guess, hold a strict liability rule on mentioning the Holocaust or anything….I’ve learned that lesson, I guess.” However, he quickly added: “But everything I said was true and I think people agree that it was true. That there’s been a message. It’s been given over and over and over and it’s a lie.”

Shultz followed up: “But do you feel like you, you know, brought us to a point where there should not have been a comparison, because the Holocaust was so horrific, as opposed to a repeal on health care?…Are you sorry for making the connection?” Cohen was more affirmative in an apology: “I definitely am. And I’m sorry any Jewish people, my Republican colleagues, or anybody, got the wrong impression….I hate if I participated in anything that made my congress, which I’m greatly honored to be a member of, or my district, which I love, have any problems.”

The irony of it all or is it just pathetic liberal, moonbat journalism. As Hot Air points out, during the MSLSD interview  there was an “over the line” graphics up, yet never did Ed Schultz challenge Cohen.

It would appear that Steven Cohen has become the new Alan Grayson for the Democrats. He continued his hateful rhetoric and lack of civility after saying that he has learned his lesson, Cohen went on to compare Pence to Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels and receiving no resistance from Ed Schultz.

Where is the Ed Show in the ratings?
