How much common sense does it take to not text and watch where you are going? Obviously for 49 year old Cathy A. Cruz Marrero such a task is too difficult.
Cathy A. Cruz Marrero, the now famous woman who fell into a Pennsylvania mall fountain while she was not paying attention and texting, might have wanted to stay anonymous. Instead, after Marrero’s VIDEO became a YouTube sensation due to her absolute cluelessness took her lawyer in tow on to GMA and stated that she might sue. However, it turns out that Cathy A. Cruz Marrero, the woman who cannot chew gum text and walk at the same time, has a criminal record.
The Reading woman who became an Internet sensation by falling into a fountain while sending a text on her cell phone was in Berks County Court on Thursday for a status hearing on theft and related charges.
Cathy A. Cruz Marrero, 49, was charged in October 2009 for using a co-worker’s credit cards to make more than $5,000 in purchases at two local stores.
But $1,055 of those purchases were dismissed from the case in previous hearings.
She also has several theft cases and a hit-and-run charge on her record.
Oh good grief, this woman put on the crocodile tears as to no one came to my aid, I could have been hurt. So if she was walking and wandered out into traffic, then what? Please. Her once claim that she planned on suing the mall seems to be a thing of the past. Now she just wants to fade away into obscurity, something she would have had if she did not come forward and try and get her 15 minutes of fame. As stated by Jammie Wearing Fool, this woman is going to regret ever coming forward and making an issue of this. Her personal life being outed and criminal record is far worse than mall workers doubled over laughing at the acts of an irresponsible woman.

Hells No! These types of scamming litigants have so self respect or dignity to begin with.
Maybe someone should have held her head underwater for a while to sober her up.
