Define irony … A Democrat committing ethics violations by improperly taking money from a political action committee (PAC) in order to pay for their already existing ethics violations defence. UNREAL. Charlie Rangel (NY15-D) faces ethics trials starting tomorrow and it would appear that he has managed to commit yet another ethics violation in paying for his legal defence. Rangel tapped stole from his National Leadership PAC $293,000 to pay his main legal-defense team this year. He then took another $100,000 from the PAC in 2009 to pay lawyer Lanny Davis. I guess Charlie did not know this was illegal either.
Congressman Charles Rangel, whose ethics trial starts tomorrow, appears to have improperly used political-action committee money to pay for his defense.
Rangel tapped his National Leadership PAC for $293,000 to pay his main legal-defense team this year. He took another $100,000 from the PAC in 2009 to pay lawyer Lanny Davis.
Two legal experts told The Post such spending is against House rules.
“It’s a breach of congressional ethics,” one campaign-finance lawyer said.
Washington, DC, political lawyer Cleta Mitchell said there is “no authority for a member to use leadership PAC funds as a slush fund to pay for personal or official expenses.”
Is it any wonder why Pelosi and the Democrats did not want Rangel’s ethics trial to take place before the 2010 midterm elections. Would it have been 70+ seats lost instead of the 60+ Democrats lost in the House if such blatant stealing was made public to We the People? As Red States opines, does any of this matter as the lame duck House ethics trial presided over by Democrats will do nothing to Charlie Rangel. Absolutely nothing.
Pelosi never had any intentions of draining the swamp of Democrats, she only meant the GOP. It is yet just one of many reason why the American people voted Democrats out of the House and yes Nancy, it was because of you.

Mr. Rangel has been working hard for many many
years to help the downtrodden and oppressed folks
out of poverty and up onto their own feet as proud
individuals. We note his progress in this righteous
endeavor by pointing to his clogging-up of the
swamp drain.
Cool Hand Rangel should get his mind right before fooling around
with tax policy for the rest of us. It’s a good thing he is removed
from the tax writing United States Ways and Means Committee
while undergoing scrutiny for financial improprieties and tax
‘avoidance’. He needs elemental schooling in the simple basics
of fiduciary responsibility. It’s incredibly difficult to imagine he
is the best we have been able to find for this important work.
Will somebody PLEASE have the STONES to prosecute this CAREER POLITICAL CRIMINAL
and get him the eff out of WASHINGTON!
