Daily Commentary – Friday, September 17th, 2010 – Acid Victim Accused of Throwing Acid in Her Own Face [2:20m]: | DownloadWOW, Connecticut US Senate Race Between Blumenthal (D) & McMahon (R) … Moved to a Toss Up
Not so fast …remember when the Connecticut US Senate race was solid Democrat and a sure Donkey win, not any more. Just a perfect example why there is no such thing as a republican cannot win in any state, including Christine O’Donnell in Delaware.
As the MSM and elitist establishment types are obsessed with the idea that a commoner and Tea Party backed candidate like Christine O’Donnell have the audacity to win the Republican primary in Delaware and take on liberal Democrat and Harry Reid’s pet Chris Cooms … a funny thing is happening in the Connecticut US Senate race, its now a toss up.
Before Democrats are so quick to call the Delaware US Senate race a victory, they might just want to check out what is happening in Connecticut. Blumenthal once had a 41% lead in the Quinnipiac poll, it is now only 6%. So much for a sure thing, eh?
Flying under the political radar, the once overwhelming lead for Democrat candidate Richard Blumenthal and a solid Democrat lock has now dwindled to single digits in some polls over republican contender Linda McMahon. Charlie Cook of the Cook Report is ready to make this race a toss up.
The contest between Democratic Attorney General Richard Blumenthal and former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon has been gradually closing over the past few months, and is now in single digits, according to some polls.
A Quinnipiac University poll (September 8-12 of 875 likely voters) gave Blumenthal a six-point lead over McMahon, 51 percent to 45 percent. They were statistically tied among independents, with Blumenthal taking 47 percent to 46 percent for McMahon, and among men where McMahon had a one-point advantage, 48 percent to 47 percent. Blumenthal enjoyed a 56-percent to 41-percent lead among women voters. Blumenthal’s job ratings were 70-percent approve to 26-percent disapprove. As impressive as these numbers are, his ratings in January were 84-percent approve to 11-percent disapprove. Blumenthal’s favorable/unfavorable ratings were 55 percent to 39 percent while McMahon’s were 45 percent to 41 percent. This poll looks a lot different than a January Quinnipiac survey that gave Blumenthal a 41-percent advantage over McMahon, 64 percent to 23 percent.

Obama’s Hope & Change Economy … The Nation’s Official Poverty Rate in 2009 was 14.3%
Welcome to the Obama “Hope & Change” economy. People across America just hope they have change in their pocket in the wake of Obama’s miserable attempt at restoring the economy.
1 in 7 now considered poor … welcome to the Obama Misery Index. Thanks to President Barack Hussein Obama, the nation’s official poverty rate in 2009 was 14.3% as 43.6 million people found themselves in poverty. The number of uninsured also increased in 2009 thanks to out of work individuals as the number of uninsured rose to 50.7 million in 2009 from 46.3 million in 2008.
Less than 50 days out before the midterm election and voters will express their dissatisfaction with the Obama Misery Index.
The U.S. Census Bureau announced today that real median household income in the United States in 2009 was $49,777, not statistically different from the 2008 median.

Arkansas Senate Election 2010: John Boozman (R) Way Ahead of Incumbent Blanche Lincoln (D)
How come the MSM is not calling incumbent Democrat US Senator Blanche Lincoln unelectable in Arkansas?
In the poll, commissioned by the Arkansas News Bureau/Stephens Media by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research survey, Republican challenger John Boozman has a 17 point lead over incumbent Democrat Blanche Lincoln for the US Senate seat in Arkansas. Boozman leads 51% to 34% over Lincoln. 34%!!!
In the poll, commissioned by the Arkansas News Bureau/Stephens Media and conducted Sunday through Tuesday, 51 percent of respondents said they would vote for Boozman if the election were held today, while 34 percent said they would vote for Lincoln.
The margin between Boozman and Lincoln was unchanged from a similar poll conducted in early May, when 52 percent favored Boozman and 35 percent said they would vote for Lincoln. That match-up was hypothetical at the time because Boozman and Lincoln had not yet won their parties’ nominations.
As bad as this poll is, it is not even close to the reality of how badly that Democrats and Blance Lincolm will lose in the 2010 midterm elections. Rasmussenhas the race Boozman 65%, Lincoln 27%. That is correct, a 38% advantage for the Republican Senate challenger.
Hotline on call states, there is still more than a month to go, but at this point these numbers suggest Arkansas will be a near-certain pickup for the GOP. No, this one is over, stick a fork in it.

BREAKING NEWS: Beth Holloway Arrested? Trying to Sneak Camera into Peru Prison to Video Joran Van der Sloot? UPDATE: Beth Not Arrested
It is being reported on Nancy Grace and in Dutch media that Beth Holloway has been arrested in Peru for sneaking a camera into Castro Castro prison to video Joran Van der Sloot:
Google translated Dutch article:

Will update as more information is available
UPDATE I: Conflicting reports. Some say they were arrested and others say no. My best guess is they were “detained” and then released.
UPDATE II: Dutch crime reporter Peter de Vries stated they were not detained .
But de Vries did not explicitly say whether the pair met with the suspect, Joran Van der Sloot. The post also did not say when the two made the trip.
He denied media reports that prison authorities detained them and confiscated the documentary crew’s gear.
Peru’s “24 Horas” television program reported that Holloway spoke to van der Sloot for about five minutes before van der Sloot canceled the meeting because his lawyer was not present. The program reported that they spoke very little and treated each other well.
But Vries said the crew did not break any rules and prison officials knew of their visit.
However according to reports, Beth Holloway did manage to see Joran Van der Sloot before being escorted from the prison. She stated that she had “no hate in her soul” for him. Too bad that the Beth haters cannot say that about themselves and a mother who is only looking for answers as to what happened to her daughter in Aruba in 2005 and what Joran Van der Sloot did with her.
Apparently, Holloway snuck into the prison without being identified and carrying a hidden camera, aided by a Dutch TV reporter who’s doing a special on Natalee, and spent about five minutes with van der Sloot.
She’s said to have started the meeting by telling him she had “no hate in her soul” for him.

Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Cheney Mason Predicted Casey’s Conviction AFTER Caylee Was Recovered
“You can pretty well predict there’s going to be a life sentence, either a plea and get it over with or have a circus trial and then be convicted and get life,”
– J.Cheney Mason, counsel for Casey Anthony
Well now, there you have it. Words from J. Cheney Mason, co-counsel of the defense team via THE BAEZ LAW FIRM. Was he co-counsel when he said it? No. All the more reason to wonder why he would sign on to this case. Yet bet Ms. Simms is happy she did not have a TV when these aired.

Michelle Malkin Rips Karl Rove a New One for His “Viscious” Attacks on Christine O’Donnell
Last night Michelle Malkin blasted Karl Rove on Fox New’s Hanity and rightfully so for his vicious and uncalled for attacks on the Republican primary winner in Delaware Christine O’Donnell. Or as Michelle Malkin calls him, Tokyo Rove. Rove made these comments before O’Donnell had even finished her victory speech.
So tell me Mr. Rove, what do you have against the voters of Delaware? Do you not respect their right of freedom of speech who that wanted as their candidate? We have been trying to tell Democrats and Republicans for years now … the Tea Party does not belong to the GOP. Candidates must earn the trust of the Tea Party and just because you have an “R” next to your name, does not make you a Republican. Rove and establishment Republicans need to get out of their ivory towers, the Tea party does not belong to you, nor do you control it.
Some of the fantastic comments from Michelle Malkin are as follows.
- What motivatted Karl Rove’s comments viscous and ancalled for comments, fear.
- We cannot cede the language to people who want to turn the republican party into Democrat light.
- The people of Delaware who voted in that primary understood that there was nothing MODERATE about a so-called Republican who founded a group called the Republican Main Street Partnership that was backed by radical left-wing progressive George Soros.
- There are grass roots conservatives and independents who are sick of the Democrat party who do not want to have to chose Progressive wolves in elephants clothing
Rush Limbaugh discusses the Rove comments and stated that if Rove got this mad against Democrats during the Bush Administration one wonders what things would be like today. Rove stated that this is a Senate seat that we cannot win. Really, how would you know? You are the same people that stated Scott Brown, Marco Rubio, Joe Miller, Ran Paul and Christine O’Donnell could not win their primaries. Why should we believe you know?
Just curious Mr. Rove, you dare lecture us after the state that you left the republican party after 8 years of GWB? We have had to restore the party with no help from you. Maybe we vote for candidates who actually act like Republicans. Your core belief cannot be winning or who is electable. That is what created a pathetic Republican majority who lost under W. But Rush asks a good question to Rove and his ilk, if 51 is what you are after, (VIDEO) why are you not supporting and campaigning for her rather than trashing the candidarte?
In the clip below you here Limbaugh enthusiastically exclaim “if 51 seats was really the objective — if getting the majority is really that important, then let’s go balls to the wall for Christine O’Donnell!”
He followed with a specific comment about Rove’s appearance on Hannity from last night. “Everyone I know that saw this was just–they were perplexed and said, ‘What’s going on? Why is he so mad at a Republican?’” said Limbaugh, later adding “Where was this anger directed at a Democrat ever?”

Political Ad Material for O’Donnell Courtesy of Harry Reid …Delaware Senate Candidate Chris Coons, “He’s my pet”
Harry Reid, what is going on in that freaky little mind of your, how did you ever get to be Senate Majority Leader?
Following the victory of Tea Party backed Christine O’Donnell in the Republican Primary in DE, Harry Reid, what does Democrat Senate Majority Leader from Nevada says about the Democrat candidate Chis Coons, “He is my pet”. His pet? He actually called another individual his pet, YIKES! Thank you Democrats and Harry Reid for Christine O’Donnell’s first political ad material. I wonder how Chris Coons feels about beings some one’s pet? Leave it to Democrats to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It would not be the first time that this has occurred.
Other pets weighed in and said, “STOP HARRY REID”
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Wednesday predicted to The Hill that Democratic Senate candidate Chris Coons will safely win the Nov. 2 general election against GOP nominee Christine O’Donnell.
Reid talked up the New Castle County executive following a memorial ceremony on the Capitol’s east steps to commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. O’Donnell on Tuesday night won the GOP nomination to face Coons in November — a result that has split the national Republican Party.
But Reid said Coons would have won even if Rep. Mike Castle (R) had prevailed over O’Donnell.
“I’m going to be very honest with you — Chris Coons, everybody knows him in the Democratic caucus. He’s my pet. He’s my favorite candidate,” Reid said.
Harry Reid Played by Dr Evil & Chris Coons … Mr. Bigglesworth, the next Senator from DE?
Video Hat Tip: Hot Air
As stated at Hot Air, how could any one think referring to another individual as a pet is a benefit and a glowing endorsement? You have basically stated that the man cannot win on his own without your help. With the toxic nature of Obama, Reid and Pelosi, what Democrat would even want their help these days?
Harry Reid all but guaranteed a victory in Delaware for Democrats and his new pet. Harry Reid may want to worry about his own race in Nevada against Sharron Angle these days. His pet? Yes, this is creepy, actually beyond creepy and Michelle Malkin nails it in words and picture.
Do you get the feeling that Democrats are dancing in the streets a bit too early here? That they have already counted their chickens? Is Delaware starting to take the appearance of Massachusetts all over again? Hell, Obama has to go to Connecticut to campaign for the “truth challenged and a few misplaced words”Democrat candidate Richard Blumenthal who once had over a 20% point lead on GOP challenger Linda McMahon … it is now down to 6.
