Joran Van der Sloot Admits Extorting Money From Holloways to get back at Natalee Holloway’s Parents

Joran Van der Sloot just admitted to felony extortion … Always the victim, Joran Van der Sloot admits extortion out of revenge.

Talk about sick …

In an interview with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the accused killer of 21 year old Peruvian Stephany Flores, Joran Van der Sloot has admitted to extorting money from the family of Natalee Holloway in order to get back at them.  Joran Van der Sloot admitted to extorting money from the Holloway family in return for revealing the location of Natalee Holloway’s body. Van der Sloot has already been indicted in the United States on extortion charges.

Don’t think that Joran’s extortion admission of getting even with Beth, Dave, Jug, Paul and the rest of Natalee Holloway’s family was not done with the following timing in mind? Do not forget, 5 years ago on Labor Day weekend, Aruba under the cloak of darkness of the Holiday weekend released Joran Van der Sloot from jail. Conveniently enough, Aruba also released the Kalpoes as well.  Do not think for one second that Joran Van der Sloot did not plan to do this interview to once again get back at Natalee’s parents and add grief to Beth’s pain  (Beth’s Pain pt 2)on the anniversary of his getting out of jail. No different than it was a coincidence that Joran Van der Sloot murdered Stephany Flores on the 5 year anniversary of the disappearance of Natalee.

Full Dutch interview HERE.

The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf quoted Joran van der Sloot as confessing to taking money from the family of the teenager in return for revealing the location of her body. He was indicted in the U.S. in June for extortion after being caught in an FBI sting, though the place he indicated as her burial site site turned out to be bogus.

Holloway was last seen alive with him on the Caribbean resort island of Aruba in 2005, and he has publicly said he killed her and then retracted his confession several times.

“I wanted to get back at Natalee’s family — her parents have been making my life tough for five years,” the paper quoted him as saying from prison in Peru. “When they offered to pay for the girl’s location, I thought: ‘Why not’?”

Joran Van der Sloot, always the victim even when caught on tape pretending to be locked out of the hotel room with a murdered Stephany Flores inside

So Natalee’s parents have been making his life tough for five years. Small consolation when one considers NATALEE HOLLOWAY HAS NO LIFE!!!

So once again Joran Van der Sloot is the victim and blames the family of Natalee Holloway why he tried to extort money from them. It was because the Holloway’s made Joran’s life difficult following the disappearance and death of Natalee Holloway. The fact that Joran Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers were the last people ever seen with Natalee Holloway after leaving Carlos n’ Charles in Aruna in 2005, the fact that they originally lied as to leaving her off at the Holiday Inn and implicated two black security guards in Natalee’s disappearance is irrelevant.

On multiple occasions Joran Van der Sloot has admitted killing Natalee Holloway and on other occasions admitted to kidnapping her and selling her.

We are now witness to this punk Joran Van der Sloot to being involved in the death and disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Van der Sloot has been indicted and charged with the murder of 21 year old Stephany Flores. Joran has also been indicted in the United States on extortion.

However, in this sociopath’s mind … he is the victim and extorted the family of Natalee Holloway out of revenge.

How long will it be before Joran Van der Sloot recants his extortion confession when he realizes it can be used against him? The next news story will be Jooran Van der Sloot going back on his jail house confession, much like he did with his confession to the murder of Stephany Flores. My guess is Joran, the Little Dutch boy” will claim that he did not understand the Dutch reporter and needed a translator, even though he is fluent in Dutch.

A ploy to be extradited to Alabama for trial. A paradise of incarceration compared to what he faces in Peru. There is something about knowing he is locked up for life when he spews his crap that highlights his desperation. Run your mouth all you want boy, you are no longer the potent pain in the ass you were while walking the streets. The whole “why not”???? Trying to shrug off the embarassment of being stupid? You don’t even need a trial on those charges. You are on film, stick a fork in him. He’s done.

      FLASHBACK – AUGUST 29, 2005

      It’s named Katrina!

      Loving Natalee – Beth Holloway

Page 179 – Excited with the news that now all three suspects are in custody, friends Hal and Phillip accompany Jug and me back to Aruba after the auction. As we leave the mainland, a big hurricane is moving toward the United States. It’s named Katrina. And our flight plan is altered to get around the storm.

Page 183 – Settling in for the night, we see and hear the first reports about the hurricane. It hits hard in Louisiana. Mississipi and Alabama are also affected. We all have loved ones at home in these states. The early reports of the devastation are unbelievable. News reporters are saying the death toll could exceed that of 9/11. Our hearts ache for the people of New Orleans. Reports are telling us that this is the hardest-hit city. But visuals are not come out yet of the most damaged areas. Reporters can’t even get to those. We stand down from all our scheduled interviews and desperately await information on the aftermath of the giant hurricane.

      FLASHBACK – SEPTEMBER 1, 2005

      The Cloak of Cover

      Loving Natalee – Beth Holloway

Page 182 – September 1 Helen calls to say the court is asking for DNA from the Kalpoes and Joran van der Sloot and that their attorneys are fighting this. She also says the suspects are pointing the finger at one another.

Page 183 – Helen is very positive. “It looks good that they will remain in custody.” she says. Then about three hours after she tells me this encouraging news, a devastating call comes from an AP reporter.

“Paulus van der Sloot and his attorney are bragging to everyone that all three suspects are getting out day after tomorrow!

Then all the media start calling. I call Helen, then FBI agent Bill and the U.S. vice-consul. None of them have this information. So we tell the media it must be a rumor. But the word is out all over the island to the defense side that all three suspects will walk.

Four and a half hours after this announcement is made to international media by Joran’s father and his defense team, the FBI calls to tell me it is indeed true. So the three suspects who were last seen with my daughter, and who offered multiple versions of what happened that night, will go free. And we are the last ones to find out.

Natalee’s handwriting on her immigration card states that the duration of her stay here would be four nights. It has been ninety-five. And I have painstakingly counted every one of them.

When Helen calls, I stand in a corner of the hotel room, phone to my ear, tapping my head against the wall over and over. Tears fall hard. “I’m done, Helen. I’m done. No justice for Natalee in Aruba. I’m done.”

Pages 184 – And Bill explains how the release of the three suspects happened. “The information the FBI was given was that the judge gave Joran thirty more days, up to October 1. And he gave the Kalpoes eight more days. But then the judge flew back from Curacao and faxed a reverse decision from there.” The reverse decision decreed that all three will go free.

The opportunity to hide behind Hurricane Katrina is too inviting. The three suspects will be released while all eyes are turned to the devastation in New Orlean.

Page 185 – The last announcement I make on television is never seen. Hurricane Katrina gives the island the cloak of cover it needs to let the suspects walk free and relieve itself of its media burden.

I’m afraid the Dutch will get him extradited to the Netherlands or Aruba as soon as he is convicted in Peru

He’ll never set foot on American soil because the Dutch won’t extradite their own on extortion charges.

      SICK is right Red!

And now sounds to me like Joran is trying to twist the facts AGAIN. He’s trying to make it sound like Beth offered him money for information, according to John Q. Kelly; that’s not how it happened.

Also, Natalee’s parents didn’t make Joran’s decisions for him on May 30, 2005, HE’S the one that’s made his life miserable by the choices HE made. But after five years of his blaming everyone but himself, I wouldn’t expect anything else.

      His mother taught him well.

Van der Sloot to reveal Holloway remains?

      TODAY

John Q. Kelly, the attorney for Natalee Holloway’s mother, recounts his involvement in a sting operation to nab Joran van der Sloot for murder and extortion.

      By Mike Celizic

      TODAYshow.com contributor

      updated 6/11/2010 12:58:39 PM ET

Joran van der Sloot was so desperate for money that $100 — with only a promise of more to come — was all he needed to further an FBI sting operation and spark a chain of events that ended with him confessing to a Peruvian woman’s savage death, according to the lawyer who provided the funds.

In a TODAY exclusive, John Q. Kelly, an attorney for Natalee Holloway’s mother, offered new details about the sting operation that likely allowed van der Sloot to flee Aruba for Peru.

Van der Sloot has been suspected almost from the beginning of being responsible for Natalee Holloway’s disappearance in Aruba five years ago, and Thursday, Peruvian police told NBC News that he admitted knowing the location of Holloway’s remains. They added that he was willing to tell authorities in Aruba where to find the Alabama teenager’s remains.

In March, van der Sloot reached out to Kelly, demanding $250,000 from Holloway’s mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, in exchange for leading Kelly to the teenager’s remains, Kelly told TODAY.

Kelly said that when van der Sloot contacted him, he did not think he was going to learn the truth. His feelings, he said, were, “skepticism, caution, assuming everything he was going to tell me was false — but I had to understandably think that it might be true, also; so approach it very carefully and keep communicating.”

Kelly agreed to meet van der Sloot alone and brought no money — angering the suspect. Kelly then called the FBI to set up a sting, telling TODAY it only took $100 to convince van der Sloot to start talking with him again.
      ‘A win-win situation’

Kelly said he ultimately decided he couldn’t lose by playing along with van der Sloot’s demands for money in exchange for revealing the location of Holloway’s remains.

      TODAY
Joran van der Sloot, center, confessed to killing Stephany Flores, left, in a Lima, Peru, hotel room. The young Dutchman has long been a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway, right.

“It was a win-win situation. He was either going to pay the money, and if the information turned out to be true, Beth would get closure, she’d bring Natalie home. Assuming it was false, it would be extortion and wire fraud once falsehoods are proven. Either way, he’d be boxed in,” Kelly told TODAY. Kelly said van der Sloot wanted $25,000 up front, with the rest to be provided when the remains were recovered and proven to be Holloway’s, Kelly said.

So Kelly went to Aruba in April to meet with van der Sloot without telling anyone but his own wife and Twitty. He met van der Sloot for about two hours in a hotel.

“No money, no recording devices. Nobody knew I was there,” Kelly said Friday. “It was Easter Sunday. It was one-on-one in a hotel room for a couple hours. He thought I was bringing the $25,000. I engaged him in a long series of conversations. I was trying to get as much information as I could.”

Van der Sloot wanted money, and when Kelly said he didn’t have it with him, the man got “very angry, very agitated, very upset.”

      Kelly said it was nerve-racking.
“He’s a big guy. He’s 6’4”, 225 [pounds], well built. He’s sort of a threatening individual when he gets angry, no question.”

When Kelly returned to the States, he contacted the FBI and began to set up the elaborate sting with the FBI and Aruban law-enforcement authorities.

He regained van der Sloot’s attention by sending him $100. Then, with a promise that he would bring $25,000, another meeting was set up for May 10 in Aruba.

This time, Kelly was hooked up with recording devices and rehearsed in how he needed to handle the transaction. He gave van der Sloot $10,000 in cash, establishing extortion, then had $15,000 of Twitty’s personal money wired to van der Sloot’s bank account in the Netherlands, establishing wire fraud.

Van der Sloot and Kelly signed a contract, and van der Sloot took the lawyer on a drive to show where Holloway’s remains were. He pointed out a house and said his father had helped dispose of the body in the foundation. It was later determined that the house was not built when Holloway disappeared on her high school’s senior trip and that the information was false.

Van der Sloot himself told Kelly in an e-mail he apparently sent from Peru a week after the meeting that he had lied.

“He indicated it was all a hoax, which is sort of his M.O. with everybody — get the money, then say it’s a hoax and avoid criminal prosecution,” Kelly said.

      ‘He’s cold as ice’
After taking $25,000 in exchange for information that turned out to be false, Kelly said van der Sloot could have been arrested for wire fraud and extortion.

But authorities said that more work needed to be done to build the case and van der Sloot was not only left free, he was allowed to leave Aruba for South America, where he would meet Stephany Flores, the woman he confessed to killing, while participating in a poker tournament.

Holloway’s mother is “obviously devastated. It’s the second nightmare for her,” Kelly told Lauer of Twitty’s reaction when she learned of Flores’ death. “Another young girl is dead and another family is living the nightmare she went through. Needless to say, she’s distraught right now.”

Kelly said he does not know why van der Sloot was allowed to remain free. “That wasn’t my call,” he said.

He also added that when he walked away from his meetings with van der Sloot having no doubt that the suspect is a psychopath. “You can look right into his eyes and see he’s cold as ice and pathological.”

Never once has Urine stopped to think about the living hell Natalee’s family has gone through.

Maybe he killed Stefany to show Beth too, as revenge for the F.B.I sting. By killing Stefany maybe he was saying, “Hey Holloways, look at me…I can do whatever I want to do and get away with it again.” Who knows what this monster without a soul is thinking. I know in the interview that ABC recently ran with his mother, Anita, she said “I” every other word. I wish I had counted how many times she said “I”. According to the van der Sloots it is all about them and no one else matters. How people can show support for them or embrace them I do not understand.

I can’t believe that Anita and the other two Sloot brothers haven’t put their heads together and come up with the idea to throw Joran to the wolves as far as Natalee’s disappearance is concerned. Just think the three remaining Sloots would not have to spend any more money on lawyers and paying someone to go and see Joran to take him beans and tuna. Anita and the youngest one could party without any worries at all on Aruba. The other brother could go to school in Boston and not have to constantly be reminded where he came from. Must be hard for those two brothers watching their mother flush their inheritance on Joran’s legal fees. Joran said that his brothers didn’t have anything to do with him anyway. Why don’t the brothers contact the FBI and tell the authorities what they know about Natalee’s disappearance? I would if for no other reason than to save my own soul and to give Natalee’s parents some peace. The van der Sloots think the last five years have been hard on them? Multiply that several million times over and you still won’t be close to what Natalee’s family has been through. It would sure restore my faith in humanity if one of these brothers actually turned out to be a human being with a soul worth saving. However, I guess if you are born a van der Sloot you are pretty much destined for the gates of hell like Paulus. Too bad these brothers won’t ever be able to have normal lives, with wives, with children, with any kind of normalcy. They do still have a chance I suppose. But will they do the right thing or will the van der Sloot curse live on? Is Joran van der Sloot really worth that to them? Natalee was Joran’s victim, Stefany was his victim, possibly girls in Thailand were his victims, his brothers have a choice as to whether they want to be his victims.

      and the latest is…

Van der Sloot: I’ve ‘misused’ Holloway case ‘for my own advantage’

      By the CNN Wire Staff
      September 7, 2010 9:11 a.m. EDT

(CNN) — In a jailhouse interview with a Dutch television station, Joran van der Sloot said he is remorseful for telling so many stories regarding the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway, but once again denied culpability in the case.

“For everything that’s happened since 2005, all the things said in the media and everything, I feel guilty for, yeah,” van der Sloot, 22, said in the interview, portions of which were aired on NBC’s “Today” on Tuesday.

The Dutch citizen is jailed in Lima, Peru, where he is awaiting trial on a murder charge in the death of Peruvian student Stephany Flores. Her body was found in May in a hotel room registered to van der Sloot, which the two were seen entering on surveillance camera video. He also is charged with a count of wire fraud and a count of extortion in Alabama for allegedly trying to extort more than $250,000 from Holloway’s family in return for disclosing the location of her body.

Holloway was last seen in the early hours of May 30, 2005, leaving an Oranjestad, Aruba, nightclub with van der Sloot and two other men, brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. She was visiting the island with about 100 classmates to celebrate their graduation from Mountain Brook High School in suburban Birmingham, Alabama.

Van der Sloot was arrested twice in Aruba in connection with Holloway’s disappearance, but was never charged. He has denied responsibility for her disappearance.

In the interview, van der Sloot said he feels guilty about his father’s fatal heart attack, for not listening to his mother and for telling lies, as well as his past behavior.

“I was doing a lot of things that I shouldn’t have been doing, and mostly only going out all the night and sleeping all the day,” he said, describing himself as “impulsive.”

Asked why he’s told so many different stories about the Holloway case, he said, “There were people who were paying me to make up stories, and I was really good at making up stories. Everybody keeps coming at you asking questions … if you want something, I’ll tell you whatever you want to hear, sure.”

Still, he said, he has “misused the situation for my own advantage.” He said he feels bad about that and would take it back if he had the opportunity.

It’s a familiar refrain, said John Q. Kelly, an attorney for Holloway’s mother, Beth Twitty.

“He’s always a victim. He’s always seeking attention. He’s always misunderstood and someday he’s absolutely going to tell the truth,” Kelly said on NBC. “… He’s a pathological liar.”

He said it was van der Sloot who contacted him about revealing the location of Holloway’s body in exchange for payment. “We knew he was going to lie, and was going to make up the basis for wire fraud,” Kelly said.

“It’s attention-seeking behavior, as simple as that,” he said. “He wants to be in the spotlight … he just can’t help himself.”

Van der Sloot would not answer questions about the Flores case, saying it is “not in my best interest to talk about it at all.” But he maintains police tricked him into making a confession, saying they would not let him call his mother, talk to anyone or arrange for an attorney.

Police said van der Sloot admitted that he attacked Flores, 21, on May 30 after she read an e-mail in his computer connected with the Holloway case. After killing Flores, police say, van der Sloot took money and bank cards from her wallet and fled to Chile, where he was arrested June 3.

He was returned the next day to Peru.

Asked about the extortion case, van der Sloot said, “I have had five years long that people have just been blaming me for something, and yeah, I have a lot of anger built up because of that.” He said the Holloway family kept insisting he had information, and wanted to give him the money, so he thought, “I’ve already told a lot of different stories. I’ll do it again.” He added, “I know it’s very wrong.”

On Twitty’s reaction to that statement, Kelly said, “I think in deference to Beth, I won’t repeat what she said about what he had to say.”

He said he isn’t surprised that van der Sloot admitted the extortion, saying he has more than three weeks of e-mails between himself and van der Sloot, as well as audio and videotapes.

Van der Sloot said in the interview he wished he’d gone along with his mother’s plan and sought psychiatric treatment, but instead he took the money and went to Peru to gamble, according to NBC.

Van der Sloot also spoke about Flores’ family, saying, “I feel really bad that her family had to lose a daughter. It really does hurt me. I think about it all the time.”

Asked if he will ever disclose what happened, he said, “When I speak to the judge, and the time is right, I’m going to tell the whole truth, absolutely.”

“I’ve got 20 e-mails where he says he’s very sorry for what happened, he’s going to tell the truth, absolutely,” Kelly said. “… He’s just incapable of it.”

He said if van der Sloot ever does tell the truth, he believes it will be out of a sense of self-preservation and fear — not his conscience or respect for either Holloway’s or his own family.

In the interview, van der Sloot acknowledged he has a “web of problems. But I created all of them myself, so yeah, I have to deal with it now, deal with the consequences.”

Van der Sloot also admitted he extorted money from Holloway’s family in an interview with a Dutch newspaper. His attorney in the Flores case suggested Monday that his comments may have been mis-translated.

In that interview, van der Sloot told the Telegraph he wanted to “get back at Natalee’s family. Her parents have been making my life tough for years.”

“When they offered to pay for the girl’s location, I thought: ‘Why not?’” he said.

“Maybe there were some mistakes in the translation,” said attorney Maximo Alteza, who said he is not involved in the Holloway case.

Also Monday, a Peruvian court voted 2-1 to reject van der Sloot’s contention that he is being held unlawfully, but the court requires three votes to secure a decision. Alteza said that a fourth jurist will hear the case and cast a vote at a public hearing next week. If that judge votes in favor of van der Sloot, a fifth judge will hear the case to break the tie.

Alteza said that van der Sloot’s constitutional rights have been violated and he “could be released because of the mistakes made by the police during the investigation.”

But Kelly pointed out Tuesday that if he is released, van der Sloot will be held in Alabama on the charges related to extortion.

Why is Joran allowed to give interviews and accept payment for it? He’s in prison…All he does is tell lies. Joran said the Holloways contacted him and offered payment for the location of Natalee’s body. That is not true…Joran contacted them demanding money for the information…

Joran talks about extorting money from the Holloways…he’s working on trying to get extradited to the US instead of his awaiting fate in Peru. He will never tell the whereabouts of Natalee…Beth had his crime of murdering Natalee figured out at the very beginning…and the story of the beach scene came about after Anita returned from the Netherlands….she knows Joran killed Natalee…”Once she made the statement that it was just one girl”. And said there was too much attention on the case.

What he did to Stephanie is beyond horrible!!! He also wanted to hurt Beth with this, making her think he did those things to Natalee. A much needed confession from Deepak….he told Joran that if the police find that girl and see what you did to her you will go to jail…I think when Beth and the police arrived at the Sloots house and Joran and Deepak finally showed up they were covered with mud and dirt, they probably, at that time buried Natalee…Dompig, at one time said she was buried three times…

Well, Joran made a confession about killing Stephanie, he knew he was caught and the police could prove it…but he and his attorney managed to wiggle out of it….the judges need to send him to trial, convict him and throw into the general public….Stephanie’s family are well deserving for justice concerning their daughter.

    30. Peggy Allen on September 7th, 2010 9:23 pm

If Joran is innocent of hurting Natalee Halloway, as the American police concluded he was, insanity may very well of been responsible for the event in Peru. No one could have withstood the brutalization of Joran and his family by the media, especially after the death of his father. It seems Miss Halloway’s family began and continues this attack to avoid looking inward for a reason for her death – I mean, my God, now they have her being pulled into the car. I hope Joran receives a fair trial in Peru. I wish a psychiatrist from the Netherlands and Aruba could go to Peru and perform an accurate examination. Proclaiming Joran guilty when the evidence actually pointed more in the direction of non-guilty and more importantly, hammering someone to death with half-ass conclusions, is just one more instance of good old American “bullying” …
      ______________
SM: I think there is an egg in need of sucking.

Just use some common sense – why would a seventeen year old boy, an honor student, no police record, kill a young girl for no reason. I’ve seen a lot of vulgarities aimed at Joran on this web site – well here’s one for you … Miss Halloway climbed into a car with three strangers in a strange country, drunk as a skunk, demanding to be alone with Joran (at least that’s what the other two guys say … remember the ones everyone trusts … everyone must trust them … they sure aren’t bullying them) – I may be imagining things, but I think he could have had her if her wanted her. Why would he have had to rape her and then kill her to hide the blunder. If he were alone with her (as the two believable guys said) it would have just been her word against his … why kill her? Do you know where most of us would be if old flames were able to put us there? Now, that’s someone whose opinion should be valued …
      _____________
SM: Peggy, you poor pathetic soul. This is been discussed over and over. The question that you should be asking and you would be if it were your daughter would be, why did Joran and the Kalpoe’s lie? They were the last ones seen with her. Let him get his payment for an interview. He’s going to need it.

After he is turned out to the GP, $100 will get him killed. Whatever money he has won’t last very long.

Joran hasn’t wiggled out of anything in Peru. I doubt that he will be found anything but guilty of murder while attempting robbery. That is life for him.

I’ve seen just about every nasty, vile comment imaginable thrown at this young boy and his family and you don’t have a clue about what actually happened!!! Your badgering, senseless assumptions broke Joran’s dad’s heart and then Joran’s mind … what next? I’m sorry I said that about Natalee Halloway … I don’t know if she was “loose” – actually I tend to think she was a normal teenager as Joran was. I don’t think you have any idea if the horrible, horrible things you have said about Joran are true – I don’t think you know anything at all about him personally. I think you along with the media have taken normal attributes and reshaped them into something very disfigured and gross … Don’t you see how much your malicious banter may have hurt him and his family … the American police came to the conclusion that Joran didn’t hurt Natalee – they came to that conclusion by taking statements from NATALEE’S friends. They considered how long she had been drinking that night, how much she had to drink, how much she weighed, how much and what she had eaten, how often she drank, and along with the strength of the alcohol she consumed they concluded that she likely died of alcohol poisoning as Joran said. Did you NEVER think for one second that he might have been telling the truth? Why not??? In my opinion he had GOOD parenting and had always been a good kid. So he snuck out; I don’t want to give you any ideas but personally, I never knew a teenager who didn’t sneak out, along with yours truly. So he gambled; his family had money – what do you think Paris Hilton and her friends do in their spare time? I shudder to think … his society is different – in his society even the little old ladies can’t live without their bingo. His dad was a well liked and respected judge … My God, you guys are tough. What background would you consider respectable and trustworthy? If he had been a rocker with his eyes pierced shut I guess it would have been different. The fact that Joran’s dad died because of the difficulties Joran was having must tell you how much he loved his son – he really didn’t have to let it affect his life … he could have just turned his back on Joran. I’ll say it again … Joran’s dad’s heart was broken and Joran’s mind was broken … it happens … sometimes the reality of a situation is just too hard to take. I don’t know what Joran was thinking when he hurt the girl in Peru … it seemed a rational thing to do to him, but of course, it wasn’t. He probably somehow reasoned that not killing a girl was ripping his heart out – it must have seemed sane to actually kill a girl to see if that would make the pain stop. It almost makes sense … again, I’m sorry, but if you come back at me with some horror film mentality I take it all back …

SM: Sorry, even his ex-girlfriend does not think he was a noraml person.

Evil exists in all forms … Joran Van der Sloot is just that.

Yo might be one of the most foolish Joran VDS “true believers” ever. You talk about his pain? Do you have any concept of the pain of losing a child and then getting the run around and have barriers at every turn on a corrupt, croney-laiden island? Give me a break.

You are a troll, and if you actually believe what you say, you might need to mental help that you claim Joran does.

    39. Frederic Nitz on September 8th, 2010 8:29 am

      Peggy Allen:
What is your real name? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Kalpoe or Anita van der Sloot. You imply that you know Joran personally. Is that true?

Joran’s girlfriend, his mother and even Joran himself believe him to be a sociopathic liar. What he has said is “I don’t even know myself when I am lying.” Why would you believe a single word that has ever drooled from his mouth? How many times has he said “I lied”?

If indeed, Natalee died of alcohol poisioning, why wouldn’t Joran try to save her? Why wouldn’t he call for an ambulance and get her to the ER ASAP?

That would be what any normal person would do. Unless he was, as the Kalpoe’s implied, guilty of rape or worse.

And in case you haven’t noticed, Paris Hilton has not been accused of murder, nor has she been the last person to be seen with two people who are now DEAD. That is a very stupid comparison.

If killing someone to “make the pain stop” makes sense to you, you had better have yourself committed. You do not belong in society.

I think there is only one person in the world who would say the things that this person is spewing. In my opinion, no one else, especially someone with children, could say these incredibly insane things unless they are defending their incredibly insane child. What other reason is there for anyone else to care about Joran enough to write all this crazy stuff? “He probably somehow reasoned that not killing a girl was ripping his heart out…” Was that said to her during the phone conversation with Joran when he was on his way to Chile? I think she just labelled him a serial killer. IMO Also, the “American police” haven’t been able to make any kind of conclusion on this case because it happened, luckily for Joran and Paulus, in Aruba. Is this what Anita tells everyone, that the American police proved that Joran is innocent of any blame in Natalee’s disappearance? It’s becoming much clearer to me why Joran is mentally ill.

    44. cvc on September 8th, 2010 10:18 am

I went to wordpress.com and what I saw was a photo of a group of mostly young people, possibly representing more than a few countries in our wonderful world, who have beautiful smiles on their faces, who look intelligent, and who apparently are fairly successful, considering they are working in the computer software field. I am willing to bet that not one of those beautiful young adults has drugged, raped, beaten, murdered, extorted money for information in a murder, or has gone on the global medial telling lies and torturing the family of a murdered girl. This “Peggy Allen”, (the name really was made to sound American but then she refers to the “American police” and ruins that), is defending someone who describes HIMSELF as a murderer, extortionist, liar, etc. “Peggy Allen” you have a lot of information that only a member of the van der Sloot immediate family could have. You have manipulated facts to deny the truth. I’m not sure about Joran’s exact words, but I’m sure one of those beautiful, bright, happy, intelligent young people in that picture on wordpress.com can look the exact quote up for me, he said something like, “We had done this like 20 or more times and nothing bad had ever happened…” I do wish all this pain could go away for the Holloways and for the van der Sloot brothers who deserve peace and a normal life. The truth will never come from Joran, that only leaves a small handful of people who can bring that relief to those deserving people.

    45. cvc on September 8th, 2010 10:23 am

Also, “oops” you let your true feelings about Natalee slip out. It’s out there now, you can’t take it back, but we all knew from the beginning how you truly felt. An important thing to remember is that the truth always has a way of slipping out.

    46. Scott on September 8th, 2010 10:37 am

Killing Natalee was NO accident. You don’t have a cover-up of this magnitude on an accident.

Some just have 4th grade mentalities.

    47. Peggy on September 8th, 2010 11:37 am

No actually my dad was a math teacher and I have a very high IQ … think about it … maybe I see something you don’t – Thank you, but no, I’m not Anita – I choose to see this as a juror would – you can’t just put someone in jail because you don’t like him … well, all I can say is you couldn’t be further off about me either … and yes, I’m trying to stay impersonal about the Peruvian girl – I’m not up to grieving about her at this time. And maybe Joran was, oh yeah, drunk when Natalee began to get sick. And they were in Aruba – perhaps they were alone on a beach. Ya know, your hatred is very strong … you can’t even allow me an opionion without “spewing” trash.

Maybe Joran didn’t realize it was that serious until it was too late. Alcohol poisoning is almost identical to being drunk. I’m not saying Joran is innocent … I’m saying there’s as much evidence pointing to his innocence as to his guilt … in American that’s called reasonable doubt. Since I have reasonable doubt, I have to see things in his favor. If the media had not been so brutal, we would know by now if Joran is guilty of all you say he is. I think he would have killed again, too. But now, I believe he was driven to insanity by the media’s brutalization and his dad’s subsequent death.

I think everyone in Aruba would feel much better if they just accepted the fact that Anita and Paulus wrote the book on how to raise a slash throat brutal heartless killer with absolutely no soul. It is quite simple – all you need to do is
go on pretending that your kid is always right and can never be wrong.

But guess what, if you want to have an IQ contest, I will take you on any time. My IQ has been tested at 175. I am an accomplished elecronics engineer with an MBA. My son has his Phd in math and teaches pure mathematics at the university level. I am the president of several very successful companies. Oh yeah, so was my father.

In your own words: “Think about it. I see many things you don’t” as if you are superior. What have you accomplished in your life? My guess is “nothing”.

First off Joran is not Jewish. That is a very stupid comment on your part that no one has ever claimed.

Also if Natalee needed medical attention for whatever reason, any normal person would do everything in their power to try to get help. By his own admission, his main thought was how to dispose of the body even if she was still alive. Good thinking Joran. He probably did some very awful things to her and was afraid. One of the Kalpoe brothers even commented on it.

He confessed to the same thought regarding “that Peruvian woman”. He even considered cutting her up so that he could fit her into his luggage as he drank coffee and ate cake by the brutalized body.

It sounds to me like you would do the same thing. Is that what people with really high IQ’s do? I sure don’t.

By the way, “that Peruvian woman” has a name. it is Stephany Flores.

Also, your comment in post #38 “I don’t think you know anything at all about him personally” implies that you do. So who are you, really? I think you are not who you say you are.

    75. cvc on September 9th, 2010 9:44 am

Peg or Peggy or whatever her name is states that she is not up to grieving about the Peruvian girl right now. Peggy and the other people like her, the ones who saw Joran as innocent in Natalee’s disappearance, are partly responsible for “the Peruvian girl’s” death. The fact that people enabled him to walk free gave him the opportunity to kill again. So, I’m not really surprised to hear that Peg isn’t interested in grieving for Stefany. I seriously doubt that Peg has ever felt any empathy or sympathy for anyone. She doesn’t seem to have many of those types of qualities.

      Peggy Allen
If you even truly believe one word of the spit you spat you need more than mental help. People like you should be put in the cell next to your dear friend Joran because you are dangerous. Is the following quote of yours your claim to fame on Great Minds think alike??

“I don’t know what Joran was thinking when he hurt the girl in Peru … it seemed a rational thing to do to him, but of course, it wasn’t. He probably somehow reasoned that not killing a girl was ripping his heart out – it must have seemed sane to actually kill a girl to see if that would make the pain stop. It almost makes sense”

You are truly one sick minded person. Not to mention your evil heart is as black as coal! You take up for a self confessed Murderer, Thief and Extortionist while laying blasphemy not only to his dead victims but to their grieving families! Shame and Karma to you and yours!

“I think you along with the media have taken normal attributes and reshaped them into something very disfigured and gross …” said Peggy Allen. Now Joran’s defense attorney in Peru is saying that they have more than 600 pages of psychiatric records on Joran dating, I believe, from childhood. In my opinion, I don’t think he was ever considered normal. The biggest shame of all is that his parents either knew that he wasn’t normal (nature) or they made him this way (nurture). So, we have Paulus and Anita to thank for the “disfigured and gross” Joran van der Sloot. Whether it be nature or nuture,Paulus and Anita van der Sloot, in my opinion, are the sole reason he has been able to reach this point. Now, two beautiful, intelligent, girls, who I’m sure would have both made the world a better place to live in, are now dead and he is giving interviews. No wonder Anita and Paulus threw him out into the apartment so they wouldn’t have to actually do anything about the monster they knew existed. Maybe they were afraid Joran was going to kill them in their sleep. IMO Hi Lisa! I have wondered where you were. :-)

    80. Lisa in Maryland on September 9th, 2010 12:23 pm

      Peggy Allen,
Everyone here has a right to their opinion and since you seem to fantasize that Joran is completely innocent and you seem to want to defend him then why don’t you “Entertain me with your Brilliant thought process”!

Assuming as you say, that Natalee died due to an overdosed on alcohol

Riddle me this…Miss Know it all

1- Why did Joran and K2 lie about dropping her off at the Holiday Inn and the two guards?
2- Why did they say she hit her head when she got out of the car?
3- Why did Paulus discuss legalities like “No Body, No Crime “with Joran and K2 before Natalee was even reported missing?
4- Why did Dompig declare Natalee was dead without finding a body?
5- Why did Dompig suggest she was buried and reburied?
6- Why did Jan Van der Straten tear up Joran’s first confession?

7- Why did they Ask Beth if Natalee was prone to seizures and then later Joran was shown on the De Vries recordings imitating her having a seizure?

If Joran was innocent, as you seem to think, then why lie at all? If Paulus was such a Fine Upstanding Citizen, Law Abiding Judge and Good Father, as you seem to think, then wouldn’t he have advised his son to remain truthful and honest? This would be the advice from a father to his son if he were innocent and had nothing to hide.

I have more questions for you, in fact we could go on for a week or so but, I doubt you thought your comments through before you posted and I highly doubt you will in your infinite wisdom have the answers to the first 7.

If you can’t substantiate your claims and stand behind your words in a forum than how is anyone ever to take you seriously?

      Do you believe in Justice?

      Justice For Natalee!

    81. Lisa in Maryland on September 9th, 2010 12:41 pm

      PeggyAllen,
The more I read the more I am aghast! Have you had a mental evaluation lately? Well Joran did and that evaluation said he is not mentally ill and he is in complete control of his faculties. He harbors ill will towards women. He has sociopathic tendencies.

So let’s get this straight once and for all – Joran is not mentally ill!

He is Sick minded in the slang term of doing ill will! The operative word here is “WILL”.

FYI – That means by Choice – his freedom to choose. Similar, to your freedom to choose to post totally idiotic statements as to his innocence. Thus, the question of your eval.?

Hey Monkeys, I have really enjoyed reading your posts today, upon my return. Nice to see you are all still alive and Kicking! Especially Meemee, Susan & Carpe who are kicking more than usual!!!

Barbree, That website you suggested Eyes for Lies is awesome! ***Most Excellent***

Frederick, it’s hysterical reading you matching wits with a nitwit. It’s like Zeus fighting with a squirrel.

Superdave, best one liner of the year! Take a Bow!

Katablog “now ask yourself: why is a double murderer allowed to give interviews to anyone? Jail should mean JAIL.”

I would like an answer to that one myself? And didn’t he say his price for an interview was 1 million? Wonder how many palms are getting the grease! That totally disgusts me but only half as much as Peggy’s posts!

I am really starting to have misgivings about how the Peruvians are handling this case. They seem to be falling into Joran’s trap of making it look like a three ring circus. Not a Good Thing! Why are people so captivated about him? He is not even close to believable! He had to have sold his soul to the devil to get away with what he does. Even behind bars, he seems to be treated as a celebrity.

    84. Susan on September 9th, 2010 5:12 pm

      Welcome back, Lisa in Maryland!!

I’m hoping the Peruvian justice system is keeping a tight lid on the case so that they don’t end up looking as foolish as Aruba did (and still does). Surely Aruba is the only place on earth that would deliver such a tragic blow and miscarriage of justice to an innocent murder victim (Natalee) and her family. We’ve gotta keep the faith that the Peruvian wheels of justice will turn swiftly and not fail Stephany and her family miserable like Aruba did the Holloway’s :-)

    85. Lisa in Maryland on September 9th, 2010 6:12 pm

Hi CVC, Nature vs. Nurture very interesting points and IMO right on both counts! The list of his actions and lies tell an entire saga of which is which. That would be a great research study on this case!

Kreiton So many things just flashed through my mind when reading your last post and maybe it is what you are getting at or some of you have thought before and I’m just slow.

I’m an orderly person so I’m going to lay it out in notes. I never considered someone from the casino (s) being in on this as I always thought it was just involving the usual suspects (Paulus, Joran, K2, Van der Straten)

Paulus and Joran are in on their poker scam WITH someone at the casino or casino(S).

Maybe that same person(s) provided the boat (Daury)

possibly used a hotel rental boat?-Which would be untraceable to a specific person.

What better cover for (Money Laundering/ Human trafficking or ??) then the fine Upstanding Judge to be?

What comes to mind is pictures of Joran always flashing his winning from the casinos in Aruba Prior to the incident – yet he could never win at the other casinos in Tialand (almost bankrupt – lost his business) in Peru (lost what he came with and couldn’t win enough money to leave) in Aruba after Paulus’ death (needed extortion money) even his online poker skills sucked so if the casino was providing a cover for him and Paulus to win – Wouldn’t that give him the aire that he was a great poker player in his sociopathic mind? What were they doing for the casino??? And wouldn’t the Death of Natalee expose them all?

Are they using Hotel rental boats to traffic humans (vacationers) to/from Venezula and the Aruban community is aware but does not speak of this because of the money and power involved? So when Joran screwed up and killed Natalee they all must cover?

New thought – This is going to sound crazy – Remember when they painted the rocks white and no one could understand why they would paint the rocks (Was it some kind of signal to someone?) have they painted those rocks since?

and here’s the latest update -

van der Sloot: relaxed, calm, crazy?

      Last Update: 7:33 am

      Print Story | ShareThis
      (de Telegraaf)

Birmingham, Al (WIAT) Joran van der Sloot. Accused murderer of Stephany Flores. Prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. And according to the Dutch crime reporter who interviewed him in his Peruvian prison cell, he is ‘a man with two faces’ who ‘has no emotion’.

John van den Heuvel says in his years of interviewing murder suspects he was surprised how unaffected by his situation the Dutchman is. ‘He’s relaxed, he’s calm, he’s dealing with the situation – it’s unbelievable. His own mother says he is sick in the head and I believe it to be true.’

Van der Sloot’s explanation for a series of false confessions: “I was doing a lot of things that I shouldn’t have been doing, and mostly only going out all the night and sleeping all the day,” Joran van der Sloot said. “There were people who were paying me to make up stories, and I was really good at making up stories. Everybody keeps coming at you asking questions … if you want something, I’ll tell you whatever you want to hear, sure”

Van den Heuvel interviewed van der Sloot for the Dutch paper De Telegraaf and for a televsion special, Joran Speaks, on the RTL network in The Netherlands. The interview took place in the cell where van der Sloot spends 23 hours a day.

Van der Sloot says he wants to be moved to the main jail and be part of the general population. He’s currently in isolation for fear that other inmates may attack him. It didn’t help his request to be moved when unidentified guards at the Castro Castro prison got in trouble for taking photos of van der Sloot mugging for the camera with other accused killers.

He also told van den Heuvel prison is giving him time for meditation claiming because in the past five years he has only thought of “fun” and “money”, without thinking of the future.

It was five years ago that Mountain Brook teenager Natalee Holloway disappeared on a graduation trip to Aruba. She was last seen leaving a night club with Joran van der Sloot. Although questioned several times by Aruban authorities, he was never charged although he is still considered the prime suspect in the case.

In a macabre coincidence, Stephany Flores corpse was found in van der Sloot’s Lima, Peru hotel room five years later. In his confession to Peruvian police, van der Sloot reportedly said he killed Flores after she found material relating to Natalee on his laptop.

That confession is currently under appeal.

    95. cvc on September 10th, 2010 4:28 pm

Tonight at 9 p.m. central time NBC has a Dateline episode about Joran van der Sloot. Probably nothing new, it is probably just a replay of the Today show interviews with the Dutch reporter.

    96. Lisa in Maryland on September 10th, 2010 5:02 pm

      Susan, thanks for the clip

“He also told van den Heuvel prison is giving him time for meditation claiming because in the past five years he has only thought of “fun” and “money”, without thinking of the future.”

What happened to the “Oh, my life is torture because they just won’t leave me alone routine?” He says right there he’s only thought of fun and money for the past five yrs. And what future does he think he has now???

He wants general population because he would rather play for the limelight than to stay isolated with no audiance. It doesn’t feed his ego.

He just couldn’t handle it when Smith got more attention and that’s why he had to give the last interview.

    97. Lisa in Maryland on September 10th, 2010 5:38 pm

    98. krieton on September 10th, 2010 6:49 pm

now your getting it lisa.casino’s are also a way to launder cocaine profits.the casino can actualy have no customers and still show millions in profit.cocaine money is simply registered as casino profit and the tax incured is the aruban government cut of the cocaine money.this money is then used to offset any losses due to refinery shut downs or drops in tourism.SEE,one happy island.this simple observation will take law enforcement around the world years more analysis and study to figure out.

    99. krieton on September 10th, 2010 6:58 pm

also, here’s something else.why is it,that GOOGLE can translate all languages, except aruban.you would think a country begging for tourists would want tourists to be able to converse with the locals.how else would tourists in trouble communicate and ask for help?open question for the owners of google.the web provider

Good idea, Lisa…Peggy Sue best stay off of Urine’s laptop if she wants to survive…lmao!!

    101. Lisa in Maryland on September 10th, 2010 10:17 pm

Just finished watching the dateline episode

There you have it, just as I said before, he is trying to get the evidence thrown out and the sentence reduced to manslaughter (7 yrs.) and with time served and good behavior he’s looking at less than that and if they keep him in isolation he will survive it. Of course then there are the extortion charges. I have a feeling that snake is going to make it to Alabama.

His remorse is overwhelming don’t you think?? My blood curdles with his statements like.“ I feel sorry that they had to lose their daughter”. They didn’t have to lose their daughter. His expressions don’t match his words. Even when he speaks of the trouble he caused for his father his expressions are contrary to what he says.

This vial evil monster has no clue as to what facing the consequences even begins to entail. I find very little comfort in the fact that he is railroading the system. He just looks like he’s doing too well. No suffering, giving interviews, teaching the guards English. Just oh so carefree – Makes me sick!

    102. Lisa in Maryland on September 10th, 2010 10:28 pm

Kreiton, I don’t think Aruban is actually a recognized language. I think the native language there is actually Papiamento (a Spanish-Portuguese-Dutch-English dialect) 66.3%, Spanish 12.6%, English (widely spoken) 7.7%, Dutch (official) 5.8%, other 2.2%, unspecified or unknown 5.3% I looked it up on world fact book because I wondered the same thing about the translation problem.

    103. kreiton on September 11th, 2010 12:05 am

if thats the case, software could easily be utilized.the idea that multiple languages can not be identified and converted to english, evan in the same sentence by american know how sounds incredible.language of a foriegn country?undetectable?and U.S.A gives them americans citzens to go visit and allows this country to harvest them should be considered an act treason.

    104. kreiton on September 11th, 2010 12:17 am

america should never give the enemy reason to beleive that that they can run circles around justice, expecialy when it comes to thier citizens.I often read articles on how the government openly say how they know who the criminals are, whole crime families,in any given cities.my question, what the hell you waiting for?waiting to become like mexico I guess, then cry about how they have to much power.the Idea that we have to wait for just the right moment, what a laugh.like a couple of perverts sitting in a rec room making decisions on life and death issues for innocent citizens, what a joke.

Good news! Joran is on his way to your house. They are going to send him U.P.S., so be looking for a big container marked “hazardous waste”, the letters will be in bright orange.

Joran is so hoping that he and your family can “bond” (how sweet). He is in high expectation that one of you plays tennis—cause he is bringing his favorite lightweight racket.

He was wondering if you guys are into paint ball? He just loves the game, and is so good at it.

Visions of sugar plumbs are dancing through his head right now. He promises to make the fam tasty drinks of his special orange juice, called tress, tress.

Good luck—and or good night—sleep tight.

Case solved. Joran is a double murderer.

    109. Lisa in Maryland on September 11th, 2010 8:12 am

Kreiton, I think you’re having a bad day – C’mon now don’t sling dirt in the monkey barrel it’s just not a good idea. I feel your frustration with this case, I think we all do. It’s really hard seeing a creep like Joran yucking it up on TV with a reporter knowing that those two beautiful girls are dead and for no good reason. I find it even harder to read Steve Holloway’s posts on forgiveness and God’s justice knowing what we know and yet knowing he is right in what he says. It’s really hard witnessing all the miscarriages of justice.

I agree with you on the language translation problem with as many grants (tax payers money)that have been issued to the universities and colleges in America to study languages and dialects and internet technology, there is no reason we should not be able to access an online translator for any language in the world.Hope you have a better day!

Makes sense that he would kill a girl to make the pain go away, Joran is Jewish and the abortion comments are absolutely the most ignorantly astounding posts I’ve read in the last 5 plus yrs.

Doesn’t it make you wonder who thinks like this? And she says we’re scary!

These trolls are totally incredible coming here and making statements like that and see how quickly they tuck their tails and run!

Unfortunately,I have found that I sort of enjoy troll bashing from time to time!

I know that’s not a good thing but I just somehow can’t help myself!

    112. Lisa in Maryland on September 11th, 2010 11:11 am

U.S. Attorney Joyce White said in June that van der Sloot would face one count of wire fraud for the extortion charge, according to People magazine.

One count? What is the maximum for that? Anyone know?

    113. cvc on September 11th, 2010 12:31 pm

Troll bashing is not such a bad hobby. There are worse hobbies like murdering people or defending murderers. Troll bashing is really pretty tame.

    114. Frederic Nitz on September 11th, 2010 1:04 pm

Wire fraud and extortion: 35 years. So Joran’s comment “Why not?” That’s why not.

You shouldn’t bash Peggy Allen / Peggy / Peg. Her father is a mathematician. Obviously that makes her very smart by association. That ties in with her other stupid comments. I think not. In my opinion, most mathematicians are pretty weird. They study a field that has no logical purpose except to breed other mathematicians.

Fredric – I take it you are not an Einstein fan? Where would he and all the other great Physicists and Scientists be without math to prove their theories? We need the little bean counters!

Besides after Joran dies someone is going to have to go in and count all the genetically mutant genes in his DNA so that future Van der Sloot descendants can be tested and logically aborted. We don’t want this happening again! And besides we are all just a bunch of baby killers here in AMERICA according to Peggy!

Can you imagine his brothers marrying American girls and raising little sloots here! Horrid Thought!

    116. cvc on September 11th, 2010 8:48 pm

Why is the decision on the appeal taking so long? You look at the evidence and you decide either yes, the confession stays, or no, the confession is out and we just go on with a trial based on the other evidence. Why is it taking so long? It makes me wonder if they are looking for a judge who will throw out the confession. Just make a decision and move this along.

    117. Lisa in Maryland on September 11th, 2010 9:57 pm

What I read and don’t understand is there was a vote of 2 to 1 and they need a concencess of 3 I guess so if the 4th judge makes it a 2 to 2 vote the will need a 5th judge to break the tie. This is a bunch of nonsence.

Jean Akers. Visas and Passports her speciality, in Cambodia?of course.so many people all connected and in so many different countries,it’s almost as if thier running some sort of organization, but what kind I wonder?there’s probably no point in trying to connect the dots,I’m sure people with names like jean akers go and work in the passport buisness in countries like cambodia all the time.I pretty sure her client list and all the passports she created won’t reveal anything.like maybe check all her passports created and then follow to see where the people are now.or if they ever returned and if not why?

      Lisa,
My son is a math professor so I actually am a math fan.

I think that using math to solve problems is more beneficial than talking about “pure math” and perpetuating the breed.

Einstein is one of my heros. I remember the day he died and where I was when I heard the news. It was April 18, 1955.

    120. cvc on September 12th, 2010 1:29 pm

We have 4 cpas in our family so we are big fans of bean counters and never have to pay anyone to do our taxes. Yea for cpas!

    121. cvc on September 12th, 2010 2:56 pm

Hey, according to Peggy Allen’s definition of CPA, I can do people’s taxes! Why is it taking so long for 3 people to look at the same evidence and come to the same conclusion? If the police did the right thing, in regard to the confession, why is a third judge having difficulty seeing that? Have these judges been frightened or threatened? Are they having difficulty finding one judge to be the deciding vote in this? Don’t the police videotape everything today? (I watch too much TV maybe) Hey Peru, what is going on here with this? Look at the evidence and make the decision! Somebody in Peru tell us what is going on with this!

    122. Lisa in Maryland on September 12th, 2010 9:06 pm

See Frederic, I told you we were Kindred spirits! Einstein is one of my hero’s too! I wasn’t born before he died but I worked for NASA for 12yrs. Configuration Management Laser Systems and when everyone around you is talking Thermodynamics and photons you have to read up on Einstein! Look up LRO LOLA, SWIFT and ICESAT! Pretty interesting stuff! Have several CPA’s in my family too.

Back to the matter at hand, What I really, really don’t understand is how only 2 out of 3 judges could vote denial on the appeal. You would think it would be unanimous. I had recorded the Program from the night before because my daughter came for dinner and wanted to see it. While watching it for a second time I had a really bad feeling when Joran said he wanted to go into general population and that he wasn’t scared.

When he goes into general pop the inmates are going to be coming at him. He will have to prove himself. He is a lot bigger than most. Did you see how he towers over them? Do you think he’s looking forward to an opportunity to kill in self defense?

    123. Lisa in Maryland on September 12th, 2010 10:00 pm

CVC I have a feeling the problem with the denial is hinging on his immediate expulsion from Chile. I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know the legalities but he keeps brining that up and I have a feeling that they didn’t exactly follow procedures called for in extradition. If they back up to that point everything thereafter could be thrown out the window I think. He could walk. Although, dead men don’t walk far.

Of course, I could be completely wrong, wouldn’t be the first time!

    124. Frederic Nitz on September 13th, 2010 1:23 am

Lisa: You got it, kindred spirits. You must have worked at Goddard. What fun. I would love that environment. But I own my own company, so not an option.

I think the 2-3 decision is a Peru legal thing. They will appoint a fourth judge and if that ends 2-2, they will appoint a fifth one. But I think it doesn’t matter all that much. If his confession is thrown out, they still have all the video from the hotel security and from the interogation and he will lose the benefit of the signed confession.

I hope they put him out to the GP. If he thinks he can survive, then let him try. I will bet against it. His size is not all that significant if he is asleep. In the Peruvian prisons, the prisoners run the prison and weapons are readily available.

And he probably doesn’t realize that it is 25 people to a room designed for 5. He will be sleeping on the dirt. His rat hole in the floor in solitary will seem like the Ritz Carlton.

    125. Frederic Nitz on September 13th, 2010 1:30 am

Joran was expelled from Chili for illegal entry. He was not extradited.

I seriously doubt he will walk anywhere. Peru will not permit it, but he has another 21 months to ponder it.

    126. Lisa in Maryland on September 13th, 2010 9:26 am

Okay Fredric now you got me on this one – “He will lose the benefit of the signed confession.” How is a signed confession a benefit? I don’t understand that?

Thanks for the clairification on the expellsion from Chili – see I was not correct after all. What’s the 21 months about did I miss something?

    127. cvc on September 13th, 2010 4:09 pm

Didn’t someone say right after Stefany’s death that if a criminal confesses in Peru they could possibly get a lesser sentence because they confessed? If that the benefit you mean Frederic? How old are you Frederic? I thought you were a youngster, but if you remember Einstein’s death in 1955 you are way on up there! :-)

    128. Lisa in Maryland on September 13th, 2010 8:53 pm

CVC, HAHA – Don’t take pot shots at Fred’s age I don’t care how old he is I think he can keep up with me, you and peggy all at the same time!

Yes, I did hear that about reduced sentence so maybe that is what he is talking about.

    129. kreiton on September 13th, 2010 10:40 pm

freds right.joran could have his sentence reduced to as little as 7 or 8 years.if his confession stays.in peru, admission of guilt works favourably for the convict.perhaps the looming aftermath of the reduced sentence is what joran fears most.like facing the U.S.A.Imagine that, fighting to get a long sentence so he doesn’t have to face american justice system.you know, where he becomes the million dollar easter egg.HAA-HAA .Welcome to place between the rock and the hard place.Mr vandersloot

    130. Frederic Nitz on September 13th, 2010 11:38 pm

      cvc,
I am 67 but I still feel like a youngster.

I turned 12 shortly after Einstein died.
Interestingly, his greatest contributions to science occurred when he was about 25. He is the reason I became a scientist / mathematician / engineer to begin with.

And yes, “reduced sentence” is the benefit I was referring to.

      Lisa,
21 months is likely how much longer it is going to take for Joran’s trial to begin. I wonder how many interviews he’ll give during that time. My guess is that the interest in them will subside. But he does have a way of stirring the pot.

    131. cvc on September 14th, 2010 9:32 am

I was wrong Frederic, you are just a kid. Sixty-seven is the new 45. Too bad Joran didn’t have a role model like Einstein or you to model his life after. He had no moral compass at all and now the world is paying dearly for the mistakes of his parents and the corruption of Aruba, apparently a “deadly” combination. I bet you were a great parent.

    132. Lisa in Maryland on September 14th, 2010 1:08 pm

I would dare to guess about 7 more interviews between now and then (once every 3 months). He can’t handle being out of the spot light for too long. He’ll lie and say he’s going to tell what happened to Stephany or where Natalee is or what happened to her to keep the interest up and the reporters running. He’s got ALL DAY, EVERY DAY to think up new lies and inventive ways to keep them at his beck and call and the reporters will not turn the opportunity away. That all mighty dollar and 5 minutes of fame are too incredibly tempting!

Think about it – the last news coming out of Peru prior to his last interview was all about William Trinkett Smith. So Joran waited a couple of weeks and did the Dutch interview. This fed his ego and put him back in first place!

Now that everything except his pet rat has been taken from him interviews will become his new reward for his bad behavior. As long as someone is listening to him he figures he’s winning.

Personally I don’t think they should allow him to give interviews. I don’t believe he has the information we seek. I think that died with Paulus and the only living person who really knows is Jan Van der Straten. Unfortunately for us, keeping Joran talking is in our best interest. So we must endure the lies on the “chance” that we may find Justice for Natalee.

    133. Lisa in Maryland on September 14th, 2010 1:24 pm

I am a true believer that with age comes wisdom. The perception of reality is so different between 27, 47 and 67! Life experience’s are the greatest teacher of all! I find it so sad that Natalee and Stephany did not live long enough to experience more of the better side of life and make thier contributions to the world! That loss has made such an impact on my heart, I think that is why I post here.

    134. cvc on September 14th, 2010 4:52 pm

Lisa-I think that is so true and I know it is why I am here. That and the fact that I can’t begin to know what the parents of these two promising, intelligent, beautiful girls must be going through. I personally feel that as long as the van der Sloots are causing pain and devastation for these families the very least we can do is to be here showing Natalee and Stefany’s families that they are not alone, we will be here until Joran van der Sloot is burning in hell with his father. It also helps to restore my faith in mankind to see so many people here in support of Natalee and Stefany. The good in this world has to win out over the evil.

      cvc:
Thanks. I tried to be a great parent and I know my children would support that, but there are many things I wish I had done differently.

In spite of that, my children turned out to be very successful in their own right.

What I tried to do was to teach them what I thought was right and to do things for themselves. After that I took no responsibility.

    136. cvc on September 15th, 2010 7:49 am

Apparently you gave your children the foundation they needed to grow into responsible, law-abiding adults who positively contribute to the world in which they live. I think good parents can always look back and see things that they wish they had approached differently, no parent is perfect because no human is perfect. But you gave your children what they needed to be successful, well- adjusted adults. I assume from your comment that you let your children face up to and learn from the consequences of their actions. If a child is never expected to accept the consequences resulting from his/her behavior then we have failed as a parent. There is no better example of that than Joran van der Sloot.

Joran is not talking to protect his mother.

    138. Frederic Nitz on September 15th, 2010 1:21 pm

Funny. I was a single dad. When my daughter was 4 or 5, she shoplifted a heart shaped sticker that she wanted to give to me that said “I love you” on it. As soon as I found out, we drove back to the store and I made her hand it to the cashier and explain what she had done. She never did that again.

On the other side, when she was 7, she wanted to give her mother a rose plant from the Jackson-Perkins catalog. I handed her the phone and my credit card and said “Here you go. I’ll pay for it but you have to do the rest yourself.”

Both my children worked for me every summer from the time they were 12. My daughter was the company receptionist and my son did Windows software.

Crossbow–I like the way you think! If Paulus was taken out though why does Anita stay in Aruba? I have wondered why she stays there many times. Then I saw those pics on the forum where she was at the Mansur party and everyone had their arms around her. Ah, Aruba still embraces the Sloots despite the fact that the beaches there are virtually empty.

    141. Lisa in Maryland on September 15th, 2010 7:27 pm

Frederic, that is exactly why I don’t believe it takes a village to raise a child. There are so many fantastic single parents out there.

Although, It is a lot harder for single parents to stay on top of things it is not beyond them to instill a sense of value and respect not to mention responsibility, compassion and understanding of consequences.

It’s more than just listening to “Mommy” it’s the actions we take as parents – prime example you taking your child back to the store and making her explain. Actions speak louder than words!

Glad you did a good job with your kids -

Gotta Go Jimmy Johnson is on Survivor!

    142. cvc on September 15th, 2010 9:26 pm

I believe it does take more than good parenting to raise a child. My children were inspired by many people who played a part in their lives other than my husband and me. Our children were inspired by their teachers, by coaches, by scout leaders, by dance instructors, music teachers, religious and civic leaders, etc.. Our children learned through the example that my husband and I set that you give back when you are fortunate. They volunteered at an early age and still volunteer their time as adults. As children they saw volunteers in their school, at the library, etc. My husband and I volunteer each week in our public schools, giving time and attention to children who do not have the benefit of attentive parents. Even though we are retired we realize the importance of community involvement in seeing that the children in our community have a moral compass and role models to base their lives on. Frederic’s child had him as a role model but they also had others, for instance Einstein. We don’t understand when the mostly retired citizens in our area will not vote for a tax increase to help the school systems. It is important to each citizen of this country that all children receive an education and that those children are able to become contributing members of society. If we would all do that we would have so many fewer victims like Natalee and Stefany. Possibly if someone had given Joran van der Sloot the moral guidance and the role model that he needed, possibly Natalee and Stefany would not have had to die. It isn’t just important for you to be a good parent to your children, it is extremely important to take a responsible position in seeing that all children have a chance. I work each week with high school students who cannot read. How can a child walk through the lives of that many adults for that many years without anyone noticing that this child desperately needs and deserves someone’s time and attention? How could Joran van der Sloot get to this point without someone doing something about it? I don’t get it.

CVC you make some excellent points and yes, I do agree with you about many of them especially those concerning civic duty and contribution. It would be a wonderful world if everyone in society did their part for the children. My husband and I ran a t-ball league (ages 4-9) for 6 yrs with over a thousand children each year. It started out as a Lutheran church league and grew to meet the needs of the entire military town we lived in. My husband was a Marine. Anyway, It was an all volunteer league and the one thing I noticed was the parents that were attentive to their children were raising well adjusted children. The parents that just dropped their child off for practice and games had children with differing levels of problems (there were so many over the years) We as volunteers took those children along with our own and became role models for them but if a moral compass is not instilled in the home regardless of role models there will be problems and just as much as there are good outside influence’s such as you me and Einstein there are also bad outside influences such as John Wayne Gacy.

So when I am talking about it not taking a village to raise a child I am associating it to a deeper level than role models that come and go, although role models are important and I agree with you whole heartedly on that, it is paramount that the parent is attentive not only in monitoring but also in guidance.

I’ve seen all kinds of parents with all kinds of personalities some who care, some who don’t and some who are just plain weird. I light heartedly say parents who leave it to the village to raise their child could very well be raising the village idiot or worse!

    146. Lisa in Maryland on September 16th, 2010 1:19 am

CVC, I just thought of something else… Anita is an Art Teacher and Paulus was a Judge in training!

You just never know – people are so attuned to defining themselves and other people in our society by profession when that is not really who we are it is what we do.

The answer to your question – Aruba is One Scary Village!

    147. Frederic Nitz on September 16th, 2010 6:41 am

      Lisa:
My father was a Lutheran minister, as is my oldest sister (I have five sisters).

I was in the US Army during Viet Nam and spent several months as a door gunner on a Huey.
It was not my MOS but the Army didn’t care and so I did what I was told. It was either that or a court martial.

One thing I did with my children is that I went on every single school field trip. It was always fun but it was usually me and the mothers.

Several of the trips were overnights at California lighthouses or the Pinnacles and one time we spent two nights on the CA Thayer in the SF Bay. That was very unusual but again, lots of fun.

    148. cvc on September 16th, 2010 8:29 am

Lisa-what wonderful work you and your husband were doing! You are right, there are some really bad influences in this world, not only for children with inattentive parents but for those like ours too. We can’t raise our children in a vacuum. For every bad influence there must be at least several good role models in their lives to offset the bad. A good role model can inspire a child for life, just like a bad influence can too.

We as parents can’t be the only inspiration in our children’s lives. Just think of the children that you and your husband inspired. I have no doubt that those children that you coached still remember that experience and are probably doing the same thing now that they are adults.

Many of the children I taught came from single mother households. Frederic, the presence of a father on a field trip was always a very special time for many of the children I taught. They would compete for the attention of the volunteer dad because there was no positive male role model in their homes. So, you were helping to raise a child (or many children) in a positive way by being a presence in your own children’s school. Positive role models do not come and go. A positive role model can sometimes be the single good influence in a child’s life. A boy who saw you on those field trips is probably chaperoning his child’s field trips now.

Ah, Anita and Paulus…there are unfortunately corrupt people in every line of work. Again I will point out that not only were Joran’s parents apparently a bad influence on him, there were also no positive role models in the village of Aruba. In my opinion Joran went from a very bad upbringing right into one of the most corrupt places on earth. That could really explain a great deal about him.
During drug awareness month each year I would always ask my 4th grade students to draw a picture of a person that they believe would attempt to sell them drugs. without fail, they would always draw a picture of an unshaven, dirty, mean looking man. I would always tell them that they might be right, but most likely a drug dealer is going to look more like the person sitting next to them, or in front of them, or behind them. They were always amazed and shocked that one of their classmates would most likely be who offered them drugs. Even the children of attentive, positive parents were always shocked. We cannot be with our children 24/7 it really takes more than good parenting to raise a child. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if places like Aruba would sink into the ocean and disappear? Unfortunately bad places and the bad people who make them that way do not disappear. That is why good people need to be out there helping to raise the children. I know I appreciated the people, like you and Frederic, who were out there helping me raise my children.

    149. Lisa in Maryland on September 16th, 2010 11:24 am

Frederic and CVC there are so many common threads between us it amazes me! I think some people have more in common than others and I do believe there are more good people in the world than evil people. We just hear more about the evil. It makes me wonder why? I think it is the “Take” mentality (Greed). You know the people who would rather take than give.

I see a lot of that in Joran, he is always out for as he says it, his “interest”. The Van der Sloots for all intents and purpose had every opportunity and in fact more than most to make great contributions to society yet, what they have contributed is a monster. It’s so deflating but what I find more heinous is their actions towards the Holloways and that Crappy Little Island standing behind them in it!

I wonder just how many people were involved and how those people are allowed to remain under the radar. Jan Van der Staten for one, I think he knows everything including where Natalee is.

I would soo love to see him in the hot seat!

    150. cvc on September 16th, 2010 1:16 pm

I think you are so right about van der Stratten. He is the one that I am waiting to see really get it too. I would be so happy if Peru really gets Joran and someone on Aruba comes clean about Van der Stratten. Maybe Crossbow is right and someone killed Paulus for what he knew and that same person can get Anita. Then we would all be able to celebrate and just email each other about our wonderful children and parenting skills. We would never have to mention Joran’s name again. Unless he lives through prison in Peru and he makes it to Bham for an extortion/wire fraud trial. Then we can all meet in Bham for the trial and bring pictures of our wonderful kids. :-)

      Crossbow,

I think you hit the nail on the head. I have to wonder what secrets Paulus took with him. Someone saw a time when Paulus might sing like a lovesick parakeet. If he placed Natalee’s body in a “finable place” it might spell disaster for some “prominent” folks, even though they may not know the site (if it exist) .

It is entirely possible that Joran did not know what happen to Natalee’s body, and only the senior sloot knew. I do think Joran knew the cause of Natalee’s death, and he saw it every time he looked in the mirror.

Who else knows? Maybe Anita? Will she be the next one to die a “natural death”? It really sounds like they got the younger boys out of someone’s reach, by sending them to the U.S.

I was really hopeful that some evidence would be found when they started digging up the sloot’s yard. Why didn’t they do it sooner, and why didn’t they break up the cement and look under it? They always do that in the U.S.

The landfill abandonment is a mystery also. I think they forced Dave Holloway’s hand, possible even threatening him with incarceration or possible worse, because I’m really of the opinion that he believed Natalee was in the landfill when he abandoned the search; but then again, how long can you dig through the toxic waste of others and remain healthy?

The car was the key in the beginning. Like Jug said, he should have never let it leave the sloot house.

Maybe the water search will turn something up—at some point. I don’t know when or if they will finish and search the hundreds of sites they have cataloged.

As for cremation, (as Sampson once said) the eater has become the eaten (or something similar). Cremation leaves no trace. The bottom of a mine shaft likewise.

I thought the youngest son was still in Aruba. He was in some photos of a party given by the Mansurs in Aruba. They ran them on the SM Forum site and he was with Anita at this party. That is what really makes me think Anita feels very safe and protected in Aruba. From the looks of these pics at the Mansur party, Aruba has embraced her. So the boycott is more important than ever now. I just like to think that someone possibly killed Paulus.

Hey everybody, what if beth has heard that Joran is going to be released and that is why she went to see him. If he is being released he may not be alive for long and she wanted one last try to get info from him. Oh no, what if that is what Stefany’s brother told Beth when she went to talk to him in Peru? I am so worried about what is really going on here. A documentary? That seems strange to me, does it to anyone else? I honestly don’t think Joran knows where Natalee is. I believe Joran was a very tiny fish in a very bid pond. Like someone on here said, Joran was the shill. I even doubt all that stuff about him making out with Natalee in the back seat of Deepak’s car. I think his only job was to be the bait and get the girl in the car.

    156. Frederic Nitz on September 17th, 2010 8:28 pm

There is no way Peru will release JVDS, there is way too much forensic evidence. Even if the confession is thrown out, so what?

And it is really hard to keep a secret, especially for someone that likes to talk, like Joran does. He had to tell someone about it. And in every lie, there is an element of truth. It’s a matter of sorting it all out since he has told so many lies.

But the US is waiting with open arms for JVDS.

Hopefully, if Peruvian authorities CAN be bought (and I think this is too high profile a case for that to happen) Stefany’s family has even more money and influence than the van der Sloots and Aruban sex traffickers put together. I really still have a feeling in my gut that he wanted to be put in prison possibly for his own protection from someone. I know I could have committed a murder and covered it up better than he did Stefany’s murder. It was like he was saying “Come and get me, I’d rather be in jail in Peru than dead anywhere else.”

I doubt he put all that much thought into it. And I don’t think there is any protection in Peruvian prisons. The prisoners run the prison and weapons are readily available.

I have never believed the laptop story. But he sure did some very stupid things, like the fake coffee run and locking himself out of the room.

To me it’s curious that Stephany went to his room at all. Her body language says she didn’t want to be there with him.

I think Joran owed her money and she went with him to collect it. Maybe he told her he could wire it to her and she wanted to make sure. It’s unlikely it was to play online poker. If they wanted to play poker, why did they leave the casino?

All the poker players I know play the people, not the cards. Can’t do that online.
