File this one under, do you think Bob Bennett would be saying this if he had won the GOP nomination for US Senate? I guess Bennett does not think that “Hope & Change” is nothing more than a mere slogan with no ideas.
Talk about your sour grapes from ousted Utah Senator Bob Bennett who was defeated at the Republican convention by and left off the final ballot to retain his Senate seat as Mike Lee and Tim Bridgewater were the final two standing.
The sore loser GOP Senator stated “the GOP had many slogans, but not very many ideas”to the Ripon Society, a moderate-leaning GOP group. Well then, I guess the Utah folks did the right thing at the Republican party convention and ridded them self of this malcontent. But I guess he was different. If he had been picked to run again as the GOP candidate for Senator, all would have been well and the Republicans would have had a plethora of ideas.
“As I look out at the political landscape now, I find plenty of slogans on the Republican side, but not very many ideas,” Bennett said, according to the Salt Lake City Tribune. “Indeed, if you raise specific ideas and solutions, as I’ve tried to do on health care with [Oregon Democratic Sen.] Ron Wyden, you are attacked with the same vigor as we’ve seen in American politics all the way back to slavery and polygamy; you are attacked as being a wimp, insufficiently pure, and unreliable.”
It does not matter whether they are Republicans, Democrats or Independents … these Senators some how think they are of privilege and entitled to be in the Senate for life. It’s all about their power, not about the people and GOP sous grapes Bennett is no different. Check out his comments after his loss and how he thinks he is the only one who can be a Senator from Utah.
According to Gretawire and from a reliable source, Joran van der Sloot will be indicted today in Alabama for Extortion and Wire Fraud!

Barack Obama, the Economy Is Strengthening, Remain Calm, All is Well … In the Midst of a Global Economic Meltdown
It’s an Obamanation …
President Barack Hussein Obama has become a cross between Baghdad Bob and Chip Diller (Kevin Bacon) of Animal House fame screaming in the midst of total chaos yelling remain calm as is well. Barack Obama claims that the economy is strengthening despite the fact that there is no economic data to hang your hat on.
“I think in our discussions we share the view that the economy is strengthening, that we are into recovery, that it’s actually led by some interesting sectors, like manufacturing, that we haven’t seen in quite some time,” the president said. “But what we also agree is that we’ve still got a lot of work to do.”
The economy is getting better, so says the Chosen One and we are supposed to believe him why? Maybe because he has created so many jobs as he promised? Not. Heck, even VP Joe Biden said we are never going to replace all of the 8 million jobs lost. How come they didn’t run on that platform? The fact of the matter is that Barack “Baghdad Bob” Obama has no data but his teleprompter words to say that the economy is getting better …
From Yahoo Finance … no matter where investors looks they see economic trouble as stocks skid on the fear of another global slowdown.
Yesterday the stock markets plunged 268.22 points to close below the all important 10,000 threshold.
The blue-chip average is on pace to fall more than 9% in the quarter, which ends on Wednesday. This would be the Dow’s first losing quarter since the first quarter of 2009, when a prolonged bull market began. The Dow Jones U.S. Total Stock Market Index has lost roughly $1.5 trillion in value in the quarter so far.
The Standard & Poor’s 500-stock index fell 3.1% to 1041.24, its low for the year. The Nasdaq Composite index fell 3.9% to 2135.18, its lowest since February.
Consumer confidence fell sharply in June 2010 over the fear of no jobs being created. After all the Obama $878 billion stimulus spending, there are no jobs continually being created. Obama’s government spending policies have been a failure. Even socialist economies of Europe in theG20 Summit opted to be more fiscally conservative than President Barack Obama.
“What we need are consistent job gains, not just a month or two,” said Richard DeKaser, chief economist at Woodley Park Research in Washington, whose confidence forecast was the lowest of those surveyed. “Until we get that, I don’t think we’re going to see any gains in consumer confidence.”
We have record federal deficits, near 10% national unemployment, consumer confidence down, the stock market below 10,000, out of control government spending and some how in all that the economy is strengthening. Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Talk about your irony. The Daily Kos and Research 2000 fraudulent polling …
The LEFT has been hell bent on trying to bash Scott Rasmussen for bias polling because they do not like the results. Far be it from the LEFT top let the facts get in the way of a poll. Enter the Daily Kos and Research 2000 who KOS had contracted to do polling. It would appear according directly from the Daily Kos that the polling was a fraud and they intend to sue.
We contracted with Research 2000 to conduct polling and to provide us with the results of their surveys. Based on the report of the statisticians, it’s clear that we did not get what we paid for. We were defrauded by Research 2000, and while we don’t know if some or all of the data was fabricated or manipulated beyond recognition, we know we can’t trust it. Meanwhile, Research 2000 has refused to offer any explanation. Early in this process, I asked for and they offered to provide us with their raw data for independent analysis — which could potentially exculpate them. That was two weeks ago, and despite repeated promises to provide us that data, Research 2000 ultimately refused to do so.
I have to give Kos credit for coming forward with the story of publishing fraudulent polls, but I just cannot help but chuckle when I think of all the loons on the LEFT who tried to smear Scott Rasmussen and his polling data as being bias and in the tank for Republicans. I guess it’s just karma, baby. And looky here, its our very own Daily Kos writing a story questioning Rasmussen. Scott Rasmussen is the most trusted pollster in the business, Research 2000 is not and Kos has egg on their face.
