San Diego Getting a Taste of their own Boycott Medicine … Arizonians Canceling Trips to SD

RUT-ROH, It’s the law of unintended consequences that should have been easily predicted.

Suddenly when the “boycott” tables are turned, California, namely San Diego tourism whines as many in Arizona are canceling their trips to San Diego. Go figure, what a shocker.

San Diego tourism leaders and hoteliers fear they could lose a sizable chunk of business this summer from valued “Zonies” who are so angered by elected leaders’ recent censure of Arizona for its illegal-immigration law that they’re mounting an informal boycott of their own.

The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and several hotels report receiving e-mails and letters from Arizona visitors saying they intend to change their plans to travel here in light of local outcry over their home state’s anti-illegal-immigration stance.

Anti-Illegal Immigration, First it was Arizona, Then Colorado … Now Pennslyvania Favors Tough Immigration Laws like AZ

Now the Keystone state of Pennsylvania favors immigration law like that of Arizona.

Republican Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and the new anti-Illegal Immigration law SB1070 is not misguided, SHE IS A TREND SETTER. Brewer has been attacked by President Barack Hussein Obama and AG Eric Holder for being misguided and signing a racist bill. It is too bad that neither actually read the 17 page bill.

So when Obama calls the immigration law misguided, is he calling all who support it misguided as well?

However, for a bill that is so misguided why are so many Americans in favor of it and states like Colorado and Pennsylvania are in favor of passing  similar immigration law to that of Arizona? In a recent Rasmussen poll, 58% of PA voters favor an immigration law similar to that signed in Arizona, only 32% opposed such a law.

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of Likely Pennsylvania Voters favor a law like the one recently adopted in Arizona that authorizes local police to check the immigration status of individuals they stop, according to a recent Rasmussen Reports telephone survey. Thirty-two percent (32%) oppose such a law.

In Pennsylvania, 68% of likely voters believe in a welcoming immigration policy that keeps out only “national security threats, criminals and those who would come here to live off our welfare system.” Just 20% disagree with a policy like this, while 12% are undecided.

Think the immigration issue is not going to be key in the 2010 midterm election for US Senator race in PA? GOP candidate Pat Toomay will have the upper hand on the issue come this November against either Specter or leftist, progressive Joe Sestak.

The fact of the matter is that Americans are for their borders being secured and individuals to have to prove that they rightfully and legally belong in the United States and against illegals using education and health care resources meant for law abiding Americans. The real question is why is President Obama not in favor of upholding federal law?

Wait until the illegal immigration and border security issue is made a hot button topic in the 2010 midterms. The Democrats may have just lost more seats.

Now this state has enacted a law, it mirrors the federal law which allows police that they have stopped to provide a drivers license or other verification of legal presence.

I think for most American people the reaction is … why haven’t police already been doing that?

Be careful of Independents in wolf’s clothing and those who call them self Independents out of desperation and opportunity, not because of principle.  Crist says, this is the People’s campaign. Maybe Crist should have winked after that line as well.

Once Republican candidate, now a so-called independent man of the people running the “People’s race” … Charlie Crist opened his HQ for his run at the Florida US Senate seat as an independent to the heckling of money he received as a Republican.

It is exactly this type of smugness that will be Crist’s undoing. Crist will no longer be the recipient of that money, nor on election day will be be the recipient of the Democrat vote that presently props up his so-called third party Independent run for US Senate.

Yes, by all means check out the wink and the cheese-eating grin Crist delivers afterward. It’s not often that a politician treats a broken campaign promise as a positive — but what else can Crist do? He can’t afford to give the money back, since he’s not likely to find a lot of replacement donors outside of Democrats looking to undermine Marco Rubio.

In the present day climate where so many voters have an unfavorable outlook on politicians and a complete and total lack of trust … Crist is providing first had accounts why he should not be trusted. Like stating on National TV that he would run as a Republican for Senate.

We only need to look at the hypocrisy and revisionist history of Charlie Crist in his campaign HQ opening. Suddenly he is liberated. Does any one really think that Crist would have switched to an independent if he were leading in the polls against Rubio for the Republican primary?

It is liberating to be an independent, I gotta tell you. It feels great.

I am sure the many Republican voters who might take exception with such comments after they supported Crist for years.

Former Mexican Senator Diego Fernandez de Cevallos Ramos Missing in Pedro Escobedo, Mexico … Kidnapping?

69 year old Diego Fernandez de Cevallos Ramos, a former Mexican Senator is missing in Mexico since Saturday, May 15, 2010. According to reports, Fernandez de Cevallos disappeared on Saturday and his whereabouts are presently unknown. He was last seen on the ranch of his home in Pedro Escobedo, in central Mexico’s state of Queretaro.

A former Mexican senator was reported missing on Saturday, Mexico’s attorney general’s office said.

The case has rocked Mexico, with President Felipe Calderon saying he is closely monitoring the investigation into the disappearance of the former official, Diego Fernandez de Cevallos Ramos.

The attorney general of the state where Fernandez de Cevallos was reported missing said that authorities have no clues as to his whereabouts.

Fernandez de Cevallos was last seen on the ranch of his home in Pedro Escobedo, in central Mexico’s state of Queretaro, the country’s official Notimex news agency reported.

Diego Fernandez de Cevallos, a former presidential candidate is believed to have been kidnapped. Fernandez’s vehicle was found abandoned with blood stains inside causing the federal Attorney General’s Office in a statement to say,  the site contained “evidence of violence.”

Mexican press reports said Mr. Fernandez’s car was found abandoned but with blood stains, indicating there was violence. Manuel Espino, a former head of the PAN party said on Twitter that he heard Mr. Fernandez had been killed. Mr. Espino said he got the information from Mr. Fernandez’s family, but that he couldn’t confirm the information independently.

Officials said they had no knowledge about who might have kidnapped Mr. Fernandez. Most of the kidnappings in Mexico nowadays are done by drug gangs, who are locked in a major fight against each other and Mr. Calderon’s government. The fighting between has claimed 23,000 lives since Mr. Calderon took power.

If this was a kidnapping by the drug cartels, it marks a major escalation in the crimes against political figures although there have been many recently.

The past week has seen several attacks on political figures.

On Thursday, assailants in Valle Hermosa, a town 30 miles south of Brownsville, Texas, burst into the agricultural supplies business of mayoral candidate Jose Guajardo Varela and killed him and his son. Drug gangs in the region had warned Guajardo to pull out of the mayoral race.

The border area has become a battleground between two narcotics gangs, the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas, a group whose core is made up of former soldiers from the special forces.

Yet one more reason why federal government must do their job and protect the US borders. How much drug crime needs to take place on the US-Mexican border before the FEDS do their Constitutional jobs and protect America? As Arizona governor Jan Brewer recently said … President Obama, do you jobs, no one is laughing.

Gunmen kidnapped a prominent member of President Felipe Calderon’s political party on Saturday at his ranch about a two-hour drive north of Mexico City.

Diego Fernandez de Cevallos, the 1994 presidential candidate of the National Action party and a political mentor to Calderon and senior members of his Cabinet, apparently was abducted Friday night. The kidnapping was confirmed Saturday afternoon by Calderon’s office and the Mexican attorney general’s office.
