CENSUSED To DEATH: Yuba City Woman Gunned Down After Census Worker Confrontation

Yuba City, CA–

The Sutter County Coroner’s Office identified the woman shot in the foyer of her Mariners Loop home as Victoria Helen Roger-Vasselin, 67, of Yuba City.

Ms. Roger-Vasselin’s companion, Lionel “Lonnie” Patterson, is in the custody of the Yuba City Police.

A female census worker is said to have arrived at the home of the couple to intake their census information when she was told at the door by Mr. Patterson that they would not let her in and they would not be participating in the census. According to the census worker, who has not been identified, she began arguing with the resident about his requirement to comply when he threatened her with a firearm.

So a census worker gets into an arguement with a homeowner (blame could go either way there). The census worker is concerned enough to call the police, and when the police show up they draw weapons on the police.

Did I read that right? Because the slant of the referring article seems to blame the census worker. If these folks are crazy enough to draw weapons on the police, how is this possibly the census worker’s fault?

The census worker should be arrested for trespassing at least.

      Ace -

Perhaps, though the linked article doesn’t support that I don’t know the facts. BUt the slant seems to blame the census worker for the homeowner pulling a rifle on police officers hours later.

Place where I live we sent our census forms in and a month later was a woman knocking on everyone’s door..leaving notes to call so they could be interviewed. She said the govt. lost all of our forms. She said you know how the govt. is.

These people have no right to be on your PRIVATE property. If they knock on your door; either don’t answer or ask them to leave or you will call the police. If that doesn’t work and they begin arguing with you that can be construed as a threat to your safety where you can draw a weapon and protect yourself and your home. These people have NO RIGHT to enter your home. If they want answers, they can ask them outside NOT in the home.

Screw these $2 cent census workers. They are being paid on our dime.

Yes, this is the consesus workers fault.

We do not know what the call to police entailed by the Census Office, OR how the whole issue went down in the foyer.

Like it or not, this never would have happened had the census worker not came to their door.

      It is outrageous.

The only vaid reason to shoot anybody is if you or you see someone whose life, liberty is being threatened.

You see a rape in progress you drop the creep no ifs ands or buts.

Argue with a census worker and drop your wife out of anger hardly qualifies. Just another looney who can’t handle reality. I don’t see why the census worker should be liable.

If I shot my wife everytime somebody knocks on the door to peddle something, I would have to claim sharia law in my house.

    10. Scott on May 26th, 2010 12:30 pm

Noone said he should be liable…Blink has the scoop and I side with him. These people do not belong on your private property.

If the census worker began arguing with me in a heated exchange; my life liberty and pursuit of happiness is being threatened. I shoot and ask questions later.

Have you missed the stories of census workers barging into homes; posing a census workers to rape and kill…

Nice article in the NYPost off Drudge or the Daily Caller about the fraud which is the census and how the government counts jobs…QUITE LAUGHABLE!
